noubernou 77 Posted October 13, 2010 Very impressive.....Could it be used to display images, text or more intricate icons? or does it only allow for wireframe-like vector primitives and lines? Right now it only supports what can be done with the draw* scripting commands. Lines are the only thing that can really be projected as 3D objects right now... But as far as drawing anything on the screen you can do a lot!
mondkalb 1087 Posted October 13, 2010 Nouber: You just might have found a solution for creating working Holo-Sights. :don 12: Is it possible to connect these projections to to the direction the weapon is pointing? And then only show these projections when the Scope is brought up?

max power 21 Posted October 14, 2010 Looks alright but the presentation of your makes it hard to read. It's hard to see what's going on there. The thing that sticks out most- one of the only things I can really see clearly- is that the grille on the side seems off. In the photos I've seen, it looks like all of the pieces of the grille are on the same relative 'pitch' angle, just rolled out like a hand of cards. Here it seems like the grille blades are on various different pitch angles. The silhouette seems okay, I guess. I think a better presentation for crits or even display at this time would be a simple AO render. This screen shot is too murky.
Fox '09 14 Posted October 14, 2010 It actually is pretty clear , if you take it into photoshop and brighten it :D

nodunit 397 Posted October 15, 2010 http://design-now.fr/ado/vbl08.jpgIs wip ^^ Much better, might I however suggest you try a darker background color..the contrast of white to darker colors, tires etc make it very difficult to see..try for a neutral or dark grey if you can, this would also cause less eyestrain when trying to focus on the details against the white border. Drapery is one of the hardest things to sculpt or draw for several reasons. The actual volume of a draped cylinder may change quite dramatically, but its surface area never changes. Moreover, the way drapery falls is a physical phenomenon and so you must model it with an eye on, or a intuitive feel for, the laws that govern the way the cloth is draping. One of the great old renaissance masters (I think it was Leonardo) painted his drapery based on mathematical formulae. It is very important to get the areas of tension and compression in the cloth. Areas of tension cause bunching along the axis of the force, and areas of compression cause bunching perpendicular to it. What your sculpt tells me currently is that the crotch of your model is under a lot of tension, but also appears to be loose and baggy. The effect is illogical. It seems like you might be attempting to emulate a very nice sculpt of Guile from Street Fighter, or at least using it as reference. The sculptor's design choices regarding where the material is draping were very much a stylistic choice. At any rate, using someone else's art as reference when you're attempting a realistic portrayal will emulate the artists errors and stylistic choices, both of which really need to be absent from your work. It is best, I think, to examine real life military fatigues and also other forms of draping cloth to form the best understanding of cloth for your sculpture. PTV-Jobo 820 Posted October 15, 2010 Drapery is one of the hardest things to sculpt or draw for several reasons. Amen to that. I do illustrations and such, and all my years drawing and designing I can say drapery has been one of the top most things that was and always will be a pain in the butt to get it to look correct. :936:
noubernou 77 Posted October 16, 2010 This is a WIP/tempting post (tempting as in tempting others to do something, its not a request! :p). ToM6mmIureo Part of my random guided weapons pack that is not really a serious project but more of a "push it to the limit" style suit of scripts... Its a 9M330 for the SA-15 Gauntlet SAM system (aka Tor M1). All its lacking at the moment is textures for the missile... and *ahem* a 9K330 launcher vehicle... ;) I reaaaaaaaalllly have my hands in too many cookie jars now...! :butbut:

Yeah SAM-systems belong to the most requested in this thread, but no one does one. I have a SA-2 modell I did from OFP times, and in the "Uncomplete addons" thread someone gave away another SA-2 modell, but no 9K330 launcher vehicles Im afraid.
