Read the last couple of pages, where this is explained.

Hey all-

So, I have ArmA 2, and Arrowhead on direct DL from BI, but all 3 expansions from Steam. Is there a way I can hook all of this together, and play the two mains retail, and the 3 expansions as well? I have tried copy and pasting the files, but they are encrypted, so they cannot be launched outside the Steam file I assume.

Inside ".\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\DLCsetup\" there are the installations for each DLC. Try to run datacachepreprocessor.exe for each DLC, maybe it will rewrite the encrypted DLCs with the new serial. You might have to remove the old DLC installations.

You could also try to save the registry keys for the game serials (A2 & A2OA) from your disk versions, verify game cache for both A2 & A2OA to repair the registry keys for paths, uninstall all DLCs, import the saved game serials to registry and then install the DLCs.

Maybe then the DLCs will be encrypted with your new serials.

Running via the datacachepreprocesser just gave an encryption error.

And saving the registry keys, they were overwritten with the reinstall.

I'm assuming I will prolly have to get them all again via retail. :(

Hi,

First, let me sat that ARMA 2 is such a great game that it lured me back to PC gaming from Xbox. As context, I started gaming with Falcon 2.0 before there were sound cards, and played OFP when it was first released over a decade ago.

I purchased Combined Operations via Steam, and was able to download run ARMA 2.

I then downloaded and ran OA, and go the following message:

- Bad serial number given in setup

I then tried to run OA Beta, and got the following error messages:

- Error compiling pixel shader PSSpecularAlpha:0

- No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgInGameUI/MPTable.shadow'

I have to say that this is the sort of irritating experience that drove me away from PC gaming to the Xbox, "it just works" model.

Hello,

I am having issues with a new copy of ArmA 2: Combined Operations.

I was BattleEye banned on my old copy, on my Steam account. I had Steam remove the original copy from my account, so I may be able to repurchase a new CD Key and activate it on Steam.

I went to the BI Studio Store and purchased a new copy of ArmA 2: Combined Operations (Steam Version). I was given a serial key and activated it on Steam no issue. Now, whenever I go play I am still getting the BattleEye Global Ban message.

As per Steam's instructions, I exited Steam, cleaned my registry of all Bohemia Interactive registry keys, ran Steam as Administrator and then verified the ArmA 2 Installation. Still getting the Global Ban Message.

I was told by Steam that a new Serial would overwrite the old one if purchased elsewhere than the Steam Store (but it seems as if this isn't the case, and they told me to seek help here if I have any more issues after the registry cleansing). I also contacted Battle Eye and was told that I may play again if I get a new CD Key, so I don't think it's anything Hardware or IP related.

I am stumped on how to get ArmA 2 working again other than buying it once more and activating it on a new Steam account, which I don't want to do.

And no, I won't be doing anything fishy this time around.

Hi there,

After a long hiatus I am now getting back into ARMA. Unfortunately, I have trouble running Operation Arrowhead. I'll try to be as specific as possible about my problem, but please bear in mind that I'm really not a computer whizz.

-I installed ARMA II on my PC from a DVD I bought back in 2010. I turned it on, played a mission, it ran beautifully - even on highest specs.

-I then went on to download Operation Arrowhead via Steam. I installed it, turned the game on, and now I get error messages such as "bin\config/cfgvehicles/c130j/mfdairplanehud.bones". It's still possible to for example go into the

editor and try a game, but the graphics are terrible, very low quality when in-game. There also are continual error messages similar to the one above. When I now try to run ARMA II only, I am still stuck with the error messages and deplorable graphics.

-I've done the trick where you take the addons folder from ARMA II and drop it in the OA folder in Steam, but this did nothing.

- I've had a look around the forum for solutions. I now run Steam as an administrator, which seemed to help some with similar issues. It has however done nothing to fix my problem.

My current game version is 1.62.952.48

I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX560 - but as said before, my pc ran ARMA II alone very well.

Reading through the forum I see alot of issues with ARMA II and running OA from Steam, but I'm having trouble understanding the solutions and at any rate non seem to apply specifically to my problems. It would be fantastic if someone could point me in the right direction.

Also, many of the issues seem related to DayZ - at the moment I am not interested in installing this or playing this mod. I simply want ARMA II, OA, and the CWR mod to work.

Thanks so much for your help.

Hello,

I'd like to know how to run Arma 2 Combined Ops with Steam. I'm able to play with CBA, ACE, ACRE, ACEX, CAA1 and the SP mission editor loads ONLY OA maps. (I am launching from a shortcut created from the arma2oa.exe located in C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 oa\.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

A2: CO is mode used automatically, all you need is properly installed A2 and A2: OA

make sure you first exit STEAM client

then start it via "run as administrator"

then start once ARMA 2 and exit the game

then start A2: OA, it should now load properly OA and A2:OA content hence A2: CO

Yes I tried that, I found a solution and was successfully able to open Arma 2 OA as Combined Ops and the mission list featured Chernarus, finally. This is what I had to do to get it going:

SOLUTION 2

It's a partial fix, you still can't launch Arma 2: Combined Operations from Steam games list menu, but you will get Steam In-Game Overlay, ability to select flavour of Arma 2: Combined Operations to start(original or beta) and ability to select installed MODs for your game.

I prefer to use 2nd solution, because of flexibility and fast multiple MODs selection.

To implement 2nd solution follow steps below:

1. Download new CMD script from here.(Right-click and Save As)

2. Copy downloaded "ArmA2-CO_Starter.cmd" to your Arma2:OA folder. (Example: "D:\GAMES\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead")

3. Download free "junction.exe" utility from Microsoft. [Download link] and [Description Link]

4. Unzip junction.exe to your Arma2:OA folder. (Example: "D:\GAMES\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead")

5. Create shortcut for "ArmA2-CO_Starter.cmd" and place it to your desktop.

6. Run game with created shortcut and follow directions inside console screen.

7. Enjoy.

Optional. Install DayZ or\and ACE mods to be able to select them from launcher and play with them.

PS. More MODs and game command line parameters can be integrated into this launcher, just edit CMD file with notepad or ask me for update.

Following this directions and launching with the ArmA2-CO_Starter.cmd got me into CO, using the .cmd prior to start up allows you to initiate mods, ACE worked fine.

*ISSUE* Can't edit in 2D Mode using this method.

Method #1 would not apply to me:

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2978786

SOLUTION 1

It's a full fix, you can launch Arma 2: Combined Operations from Steam games list menu, but you will not get Steam In-Game Overlay.

You can follow steps below to fix this issue:

1. Open Arma2:OA folder. (Example: "D:\GAMES\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead")

2. Copy "_runA2CO.cmd" file for backup.

3. Open "_runA2CO.cmd" for Edit in Notepad.

4. Search for string that begins with ""%_STEAMPATH%\steam.exe" -applaunch 33930"

5. Replace it with string below(just copy&paste whole string):

Code:

start "" "%_ARMA2OAPATH%\ArmA2OA.exe" "-mod=%_ARMA2PATH%;EXPANSION;ca"

6. Save file and exit Notepad.

7. Run ARMA 2: Combined Operations by selecting "Launch Arma 2: Combined Operations" in Steam games list menu.

8. Enjoy!

Within the Arma2:OA folder the _runA2CO.cmd file was copied and placed on my desktop for editing, inside featured the exact same parameters and Arma 2: Combined Operations is 'NOT' in my steam library.

I need to be able to simply load Chernarus into the SP Mission Editor and add 1 Player Unit, save it so it's a pbo and load it to my game serves MPMissions.

Any thoughts / help greatly appreciated. Thanks for any feedback!

**Right now I'm experiencing the MPTable and Shadow error when trying to load Arma 2 OA. If I add just -mod=, I do not get the error. It's only when the mod parameters are left empty. I've fixed this before by disabling my add-ons but I can't disable my add-ons unless I can get into arma2oa without anything in the launch param. I've searched high and low, tried many resolutions. (running as admin used to work for me).

Arma2 runs fine. I uninstalled Arma II, removed my add-on folders (@ACE,@Dayz, etc) Rebooted after download finished, went to play Arma2oa from steam, same error on start. MPTable.

Help :(.

I'm trying to get my Arma 2 OA from my new steam account to work on my old one with ACR, BAF and PMC DLC but all of them seems are tied with my old disabled one. Now I'm having a problems to get them work with my new key. So the question is, are these DLC cdkeys are tied to my old one?

Same issue here. Steam updated itself first (about 100 MB) and began immediately to redownload A2... I can't launch A2 anymore nor join any server using A2 content (getting kicked for signature errors in A2 content). I'd be happy if there was a way to cancel it, because with my current connection the redownloading will take 86 hours...

I waited for it to end and then deleted local content of Arma 2

But i have this line on my OA startup params :

-nosplash -world=empty -showscripterrors -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion

Which means you need beta installed ... well maybe use steam beta ,maybe it will work too !

You can also cancle the download ... but launching arma 2 alone will cause a CDkey problem !
