  1. I put this in a different section as a suggestion but you can take them as questions. Thanks. This can be moved to a more appropriate section so at any time please do so. My main hope is that someone can direct me to an active thread where mods / admins are reading and can take notes from user suggestions and issues. 1.) Altis - (I didn't explain or suggest anything, I should not have to.) 2.) Audio Sound Effect Differentiation - (what do I mean? The ability to turn down the sound of vehicles, but not ambient or other noises that might otherwise go unheard due to the sound of the engine. This removes a lot of realism and I'm sure a mod will come around eventually but it's bothered me for ages. I'm using a decent headset surround and if I were to play on max volume the sound of an engine starting up near me would burst my ear drum and completely nullify background noise that's essential for making decisions in combat. Another option would be to tone down the max volume of vehicles. 5.) Also a friend and I were talking and he mentioned the naming of all the weapons, like how for example they couldn't have just ported in M4's, FN Fals, basically all worthwhile (most of it is) content of Arma / Arma 2 / OA / ToH / w/e! Did they need licenses to use the names and models to begin with? Do they need to do it again to use them in Arma 3? Can they not get licenses for real world weapons that exist right now and use them in Arma 3? If none of you understand where I'm getting at, none of the weapons have real names for the most part like the MLRS is a Patriot Launching System for one..there are countless other things. 4.) I just hit a tree in a jet, it landed in a basketball court. Undamaged. How? >_<. I really, really, really someone see's this and someone up there are BI decides to say fudge, I'll do it and just bring up an AV-8B with the Mark 82's up to Arma 3 standards, throw in some eurofighters, give me a darn Enfield! Bring all Arma / 2 / OA AI up to Arma 3 standards. Thank you for your time.

  3. Hello and thanks for taking the time to check out my post. I've been playing around with the LK Script Pack and it allows you to bring up a command menu which then in turn allows you to deploy a LAV FQ, FOB Deploy (little base), which then allows you to use a handful of options then including a construction interface where you can put down walls, depots, bunkers, vehicles, etc. My goal was to get the nuclear launch and detonation to work on a 404Wasteland MP Takistan. I was successful, figured out how to change different things about the damage.sqf, radzone.sqf etc. What I'd really like to be able to do is use the command menu or be able to bring up the same kind of construction interface that I can bring up with the command menu. The problem is that unlike using the proving grounds console to use execVM "lk\nuke\nuke_incoming.sqf";, you can't really do anything unless you have access to a console and what I personally know how to do is limited due to my knowledge of scripting with sqs / sqf files. For example if I wanted to use the tomahawk it's basically the exact same script as the nuke (which uses sqf), you see a jet stream in the sky for the falling missle, a sound is played like a whistle before it hits, it explodes with the force of 7-8 GBU-12's. The nuke is a tad different, LK Script uses the Arma 2 Nuke so it's huge. (I think it does?) Keeping in mind I am using no mods what so ever so an average joe with nothing but -nosplash in his launch parameter can play on this MP Mission when it's live on a server. If there is a way to use multiple sqs / sqfs in a single function or trigger (see I don't even know how functions work my knowledge is extremely limited). Anyway if anyone reads all this thanks! Any help is greatly appreciate and I'd be happy to share my findings.

Expected 2445626 B, got 589824 B HOWEVER they are the same file size client side and server side. I've refreshed to ensure what I was seeing was current information and it is. Any thoughts / help greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  5. Hello, I hope I've chosen the correct location to post my thread. I finally got Arma 2 OA to run again, long process. Upon opening it, it FINALLY opens as Combined Ops from Steam. My issue is that when playing Combined Ops, the editor gives no option to edit in 2D, my understand is that saving a mission on 2D creates a pbo, saving a mission provided me with only my "chernarustest01.sqm' located in My Documents\Arma 2\Missions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was using Arma 2 OA before (without running as combined ops from Steam as I didn't even know how to run as Combined Ops) in Arma 2 OA I was able to use the 2D Editor but only OA maps were in the mission list.
  6. [sOLVED] You guys are helpful but this error is a tough one. I've now completely uninstalled both Arma2 and Arma2 OA. I bought the game Arma2:CO from Steam for like $19.99. My PC Specs: CPU: AMD A8-3800 RAM: 8gb DDR3 GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6550D OS: Windows 7 64bit Now this error started for me when I removed the launch parameters in steam for OA from what it was (ex: -mod=@CBA,@CBA_A2, @CBA_OA, @ACE, so on so forth.) If I removed it and left the target line blank, Arma 2 OA would NOT start due to MPTable.shadow followed by pixel shader. Arma 2 ran fine no problem. Before uninstalling I was able to load Arma 2 OA without the MPTable / Pixel shader error by simply adding -mod= and nothing else to the launch parameter. However as I am unable to use the 2D editor for some reason using that method I was unable to create mission pbos so that definitely defeats the purpose. My Arma 2 version was updated auto by steam to 1.11. I'm backing up the files currently so I don't have to re-install again.. my internet bill this month :(. Now in the past all I had to do was disable my add-ons to remedy this but as I can't run disable the add-ons while they are in use (that is why I'm guessing the option to disable is removed while they are enabled)? If I think of anything else to add of figure out how to fix it I'll add it. Thanks for any feedback. - Bishop *Fix - Completely uninstalling Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA, removing all associated folders and registry keys manually, fresh install of Arma 2 (first), fresh install of Arma 2 OA, all done with Steam and Admin rights given within steam properties so that is always runs as admin. Backing up files now, will let you know if anything changes.*
  7. Yes I tried that, I found a solution and was successfully able to open Arma 2 OA as Combined Ops and the mission list featured Chernarus, finally. This is what I had to do to get it going: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2975783 Following this directions and launching with the ArmA2-CO_Starter.cmd got me into CO, using the .cmd prior to start up allows you to initiate mods, ACE worked fine. *ISSUE* Can't edit in 2D Mode using this method. Method #1 would not apply to me: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2978786 Within the Arma2:OA folder the _runA2CO.cmd file was copied and placed on my desktop for editing, inside featured the exact same parameters and Arma 2: Combined Operations is 'NOT' in my steam library. I need to be able to simply load Chernarus into the SP Mission Editor and add 1 Player Unit, save it so it's a pbo and load it to my game serves MPMissions. Any thoughts / help greatly appreciated. Thanks for any feedback! **Right now I'm experiencing the MPTable and Shadow error when trying to load Arma 2 OA. If I add just -mod=, I do not get the error. It's only when the mod parameters are left empty. I've fixed this before by disabling my add-ons but I can't disable my add-ons unless I can get into arma2oa without anything in the launch param. I've searched high and low, tried many resolutions. (running as admin used to work for me). Arma2 runs fine. I uninstalled Arma II, removed my add-on folders (@ACE,@Dayz, etc) Rebooted after download finished, went to play Arma2oa from steam, same error on start. MPTable. Help :(.
  8. Hello, I'd like to know how to run Arma 2 Combined Ops with Steam. I'm able to play with CBA, ACE, ACRE, ACEX, CAA1 and the SP mission editor loads ONLY OA maps. (I am launching from a shortcut created from the arma2oa.exe located in C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 oa\. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.   9. Yea I just started the server again with the same server.cfg using the Control Panel > Server Control via NFO web client. It showed up in play withSIX and through Steam > Arma2OA. It's status read as Waiting, does not shut down. I checked the myserver.log in the Control Panel > File Manager for NFOServers and it hasn't updated since it last ran a mission which I think was SteelPanthers (a default Arma2OA mission cycle was placed in the server.cfg for my game server. My launch parameter for the server is just arma2;expansions;ca I think, for jumping into the 3D Editor and launching Arma2OA through steam my launch parameter is -mod=arma2;expansion;ca;@ACE;@ACEX;@ACEX_RU;@ACEX_SM;@ACEX_USNavy;@CBA;@CBA:A2;@CBA_OA;@ca;@PRACS;@Cluster I don't know if it's because of missing dependencies and the mission won't load or if I need to do more work then just what's in the server.cfg noted above. Thanks for your help, really need it :p.
  10. Using the control panel > server control > "myserver.log" > edit I can view reports, I can't find the server RFT. I read in another thread it should be with your servers ArmA2OAProfile? http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=17636&highlight=WASTELAND - Installation: "Extract the .pbo file(s) to your ArmA2\Missions folder. Extract the .pbo file(s) to your ArmA2 Operation Arrowhead\Missions folder. As we always recommend use modfolders to separate the custom content from the official game content to prevent problems." What does this mean exactly? I've extracted the .pbo into both those folders. For my server would it not going into MP Missions? Either way, the server runs with the server.config I posted see below. It shows it's status as 'Waiting' so it could mean a lot of things but I imagine it's because the custom mission is lacking dependencies? Many other possibilities I'm sure. Is there more to it then the instructions given there? Also how does one edit a custom mission, this mission for example. Say I wanted to spawn vehicles (which I do not know how to do without using the 3D Editor) so that they would appear on next restart. I get the concept of changing the files in the 3D Editor and saving then uploading to the ftp but what am I missing? I can't get the mission.sqf you get from opening and extracting the .pbo from TVT-55 Wasteland to appear in the list of missions. Is that because I don't have client side launch parameters for it? I've been at this a few days now :p. *edit* Steam > Arma2OA Launch Parameters = -skipintro -mod=arma2;expansion;ca;@ACE;@ACEX;@ACEX_RU;@ACEX_SM;@ACEX_USNavy;@CBA;@CBA:A2;@CBA_OA;@ca;@PRACS;@Cluster My servers launch parameters = arma2;expansion;ca I know that if I have a mission running that is dependant on any one of those, I would need to have those add-ons on my server. Just to be sure, I have my add-ons in /Program Filesx86/steam/steamapps/common/arma2oa/ and they are all set to @ACE etc. Where do I place the add-ons server side? In the add-ons folder or the same way I've done it to load them up client side?
  11. Server's RPT? The server shows on the list and I can join it but it's status is waiting and I assume it's because the mission didn't load or can't. That may be because of my servers launch parameter or add-on dependencies missing in the server files. I'd be great if I figured out how to edit custom mission files or open them in the 3D editor. I got it to show new maps using CAA1 and changing the launch parameter accordingly. I can't get this specifically to show up in the list of missions. The server is lived but waiting for something, I guess I would need the correct server.cfg using NFO Control Panel, upload the add-ons to the FTP that are required (if any). Start slow so I don't run into more probl I'll visit TVT-55 again shortly to see if there is anything I missed, I really just know it's something easy that I'm missing. ems then I can handle? ALSO - It takes forever to upload to the FTP directly from my local machine. Using LEA or Toph's I can't upload addon folders to the servers ftp.
  12. Hello, I'm currently using a game server from NFOservers.com, the default server.cfg would load up the generic Arma 2 OA missions (ex. Steel Panthers). I'm trying to figure out how to just get started, is it possible to simply load a blank map onto your server with no mission? If so, how? Currently my server appears but the mission won't load, I'm not sure what to look for in the server log or if I'm even looking at the right log (via my control panel at NFOservers). I'd like to know what is causing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks. As I mentioned the server starts with this configuration, I can see it and join but the mission will not load. At the top do I need to remove the // Tophe's etc? or just the //? Do I need specific add-ons to run Tonic's Wasteland? (Wasteland_v1db.Chernarus). Also I have 'not' set start-up parameters in arma2oa.exe, I read that you're meant to and Tophe's creates a notepad with start up params but I think that's for if you're hosting a ded server on your own machine or am I mistaken?
