Arrowhead 0 Posted June 8, 2009 -Ziggy-;1303428']hmm cdwow informed me that the release of the game will be moved from June 26 to June 19th! Oh man, please let them bump up the Steam release date too! The wait is killing me. :D
TCEd 0 Posted June 8, 2009 Steam is garbage, I would rather buy a copy from amazon co.uk. I can't believe they went with steam? You can't even mods games on steam or it won't even run the game, plus the extra lag on your cpu from having to run steam just to play arma? Whatever if I have to pay some extra money for shipping the best war game ever made, so be it. I'm getting a GTX-285 2gb oced from Newegg, just for this game. Should run nicely with my Phenom 2.3 x4 and 4gb of 6400 Not true, I have used Steam for while now & have never had a problem adding mods to Arma1. Also not true is that it will put a drain on your cpu. First, you don't even have to run Steam to play Arma, I know, I've been doing it for years. And even if you do, it's not doing anything to take up cpu power, it acts no different that Xfire, which only makes you aware if someone wants to chat while your ingame, which you can disable. The price is dependent upon where you live. I don't know if Steams price is higher for you than some other vendor, but for me (US fan) it's the same.

The wait is killing me. :D It's why I am waiting for the press release for the US publisher before I pre-order on Steam. Though the press release can't come soon enough. That $50 is burning a hole in my wallet.

r71 0 Posted June 9, 2009 EB Games has it listed for the 29th of June.http://www.ebgames.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=75135 whats the deal with this... Developer: Got Game Entertainment Love how EB does things like that all the time.
Dangerdog 0 Posted June 9, 2009 Never heard of them before, looking at the games they publish it's no wonder. Oh well, at least there will be a boxed version for the US market.
TCEd 0 Posted June 9, 2009 I've bought games from EB before, didn't have any problems. It's just another place to buy the game.
hoak 0 Posted June 9, 2009 (edited) Hmmm, who are these guys? If they are the North American Publisher, anyone have any idear what kind of DRM they typically roll games with? It looks like their prices are reasonable, but shipping is going to kick their on site price point over the price of Steam (rather like EB Games with shipping and/or tax)... Edited June 9, 2009 by Hoak
MaxRiga 0 Posted June 9, 2009 Never heard of them before, looking at the games they publish it's no wonder. Oh well, at least there will be a boxed version for the US market. .... that what I really want to get this time ... NO MORE ANY DIGITAL DOWNLOADING VERSIONS I'm so tired of online activation that never happens from the first time. You always have to write email to support center so to proof that you actually have download ur version and provide ur serial. And if you do it day time ( in the US ) it's usually evening in Europe so you can't play in hour or so but you have to wait next day to get reply from Europe. It happens with my Arma1 EVERY time when I reinstall my windows and I do it once per 4-6 months. So, I have been activating my digital version of Arma1 around 6-7 times and it always was like this. NO MORE OF THIS CRAP, I want my box version !!!!
decap 10 Posted June 9, 2009 I went with CD WoW...make take a couple extra days, but at least you know what you are getting
Xenios 0 Posted June 9, 2009 Actually, the CD Wow package might arrive before June 29. If it shipped on June 19 plus 7-10 days for shipping. And it's $10 cheaper than EB, so that sounds like a pretty good deal.
icfhoop 0 Posted June 9, 2009 Out of curiosity, has anyone pre-ordered from EB games, although I will probably do a little more looking into the publishing co., I was just wondering has pre-ordered from them yet?
Supernova 0 Posted June 9, 2009 Out of curiosity, has anyone pre-ordered from EB games, although I will probably do a little more looking into the publishing co., I was just wondering has pre-ordered from them yet? I placed my order with them. They were the only retailer to sell Soviet Assault when I was looking for it. I'll keep you guys posted when I receive the English version as I am dreading I got the German version and didn't wait for the English release.
Dangerdog 0 Posted June 9, 2009 EB Games and Gamestop are one and the same, Gamestop bought out EB a long time ago. http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=75135 They're responsive in terms of getting stuff shipped out usually a day after the posted release date, how fast it gets to you depends on how much you want to pay in shipping. hoak 0 Posted June 9, 2009 CD WoW! is headquartered in Australia, with partner drop shippers in China and Western Europe. There's more info earlier on in the thread... :)
Amuro 10 Posted June 9, 2009 (edited) CD WoW! is headquartered in Australia, with partner drop shippers in China and Western Europe. There's more info earlier on in the thread...:) Maybe, but I doubt they're operating in Australia, because there's no way they can sell games at $39.99 including free worldwide shipping, and still make money, considering games cost like $80-100 there. Edit I checked their Terms and Conditions, and it turns out CDWOW! is owned and operated by Stomp HK Ltd. If they're operating in Hong Kong then it explains the cheap prices. PC games are like $30-32 here, then they can add $8-10 for worldwide shipping via airmail. Edited June 9, 2009 by Amuro
