Deathstruck 375 Posted September 23, 2008 Well, it's just a "cosmetic suggestion", you can keep focusing on your project, I will still play it
hailstorm 4 Posted September 24, 2008 That would be cool... I'm still waiting for some single player missions using my units Given you've got practically a virtual monopoly on decent civilian units, I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of time Schnapsdrosel! I definitely know I'll be using them in my stuff, that's for sure. although I would definitely like some more females in more rugged clothing (heck, even if it were just female heads on the current crop of males you put in 0.4! the resistance can't be gender-specific! william1 0 Posted September 24, 2008 Schnapsdrosel , i'd suggest you to make a mideast civilian pack to fit the island of Avgani , but this in a separate addon , not to add even more weight to your already great mercenaries pack. It could include women with burkas and such , that would be great.

Well, I already thought about adding more mideast stuff, but for the next release I'll focus on improving and adding things to the existing categories of this addon. For next releases I plan to completely separate all the desert stuff and make an extra addon...
PSYCHOSIM 0 Posted October 8, 2008 Nice new units! Possibly inspired by the film Tears Of The Sun maybe........ Like them a lot, keep up the good work........
madrussian 347 Posted October 8, 2008 Adding more female civilians shouldn't take to much time... Thank you so much for your addons, Schnapsdrosel. Your city civs are just what vanilla ArmA was missing for woodland and other missions. Â Now how about some more city females? The city females you've got so far are a great addition to ArmA but it's tough to populate a city with just 5 of them. Â Unless you're doing a city of clones, I suppose! Shadow NX 1 Posted October 9, 2008 Possibly inspired by the film Tears Of The Sun maybe........ Or the ArmA2 screens...
Deathstruck 375 Posted October 9, 2008 That's Bruce Willis or ArmA2 on medium details  I like those details, they look like "don't-fuck-with-me" mercs  I like those rags(?) they have on the neck.
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted October 9, 2008 Cool stuff Schnap - perhaps some different eyewear, like ballistic glasses or sunnies or some sort would add a bit more varietah? Glad you're still cranking out the units. Just a question, what's the average section count of your units?
PSYCHOSIM 0 Posted October 19, 2008 So hows V.5 coming along?
schnapsdrosel 0 Posted October 20, 2008 Just a question, what's the average section count of your units? I'm trying not to go above 25... But most of the time it's between 10-15 So hows V.5 coming along? Right now, it's coming along a bit slowly... I'm getting more and more involved in other projects and I'm also busy with real life stuff. The next version should nevertheless come out soon, but will only contain the updated WDL Mercenaries and maybe some new civilians... And especially for Salvatore_Lee: mercs with bandanas
maza94 0 Posted October 20, 2008 I have suggestion for arabic soldiers/mercs: http://i58.photobucket.com/albums....AL2.jpg MORE SCREENS: http://www.fpsbanana.com/skins....mg=http http://www.fpsbanana.com/skins....mg=http http://www.fpsbanana.com/skins....mg=http

CameronMcDonald 146 Posted October 22, 2008 Quote[/b] ]I'm trying not to go above 25... But most of the time it's between 10-15 I see. I understand it's difficult, but you should be aiming for <10 if you can with the average infantry unit. This might mean you have to go back and combine some textures here and there (and you may have to step them up to 2048x2048), but it's really important for good performance with today's GPUs. The latest build of Jonny's marines, for example, don't go above 4 or so (IIRC) sections per unit, which means they run superbly and you can place tonnes of them ingame. ArmaVidz 0 Posted October 26, 2008 ^^ holy hell is that how these Mercs look?
maza94 0 Posted October 26, 2008 They looks more like US Special Forces.
manzilla 1 Posted October 26, 2008 The look good too me. But the flag should be facing the other way, if you intend to leave it on there.
schnapsdrosel 0 Posted October 26, 2008 The look good too me. But the flag should be facing the other way, if you intend to leave it on there. Don't worry it's just an old texture I used for these screenshots, I fixed the flag already:
PSYCHOSIM 0 Posted October 26, 2008 I say remove the flag completely, supposed to be merc's, not US troops! Other than the flag, these reworked units look great..............
Hawkins 8 Posted October 26, 2008 Looks absolutely beautiful. Very nice woodland units, they will blend in nicely with Uhao. Waiting for release with an edgy editing finger.

You are right, it's astonishing how the section count effects the performance in Arma, I will try to optimise it more in further releases… I say remove the flag completely, supposed to be merc's, not US troops!Other than the flag, these reworked units look great.............. Same opinion here. I removed the "ugly" flag: Btw, new version is out: Mercenaries + Civilians 0.5b
