if you post up the entire config that you modified, then perhaps we could check it over, rather than sitting here guessing.

Did you delete the original config.bin file from the folder (keeping your modified config.cpp obviously) before repacking the .pbo? The two files may be conflicting eachother if you haven't.

I have no such problem with the modified version I have.

OK guys, I have fixed up the config error and will upload the helicopters end of the month with our first set of weapons and units. I was not getting that error (don't know why) that was before the BIS 1.09 beta update, none of the team got that error either that is why I uploaded them.

@ Miles Teg

I am busy with the weapons pack right now as well as some units, 32 Battalion, SADF and SWAPO. I will also be releasing at a later stage the Buffel, SAMIL20 and Ratel add-ons as well as various others used in the Bush War. Just that our team is Small so it does take time to complete everything. Most of the mod will only be released for ArmAII. In the meantime we release teasers and a small mini-mod the rest we test and get ready for ArmAII.

I also want to stress the we are not part of the previous mod which was the Bushfires Mod. All our add-ons are completely new. Although Helfish did send me some samples, they are not usable for ArmAII and I have completely remade the models from scratch. You can check our forums for WIP updates.

I am busy (on and off) with a very large Island for ArmAII which we will call "Angola" and it is a scaled down version of the Owambo Region and Southern Angola will include Cassinga to the north Cuito to the East and Rundu to the South. Berghoff is busy making an African trees Pack for this project. It is scaled down in terms of distance between towns, we aim to keep the Island historical to the conflict.

I don't mean to be impatient or rude, but would I be correct in assuming we will no longer see the island that was supposed to come out last year for ArmA?

All new models? Wow... thats a hell of alot of work. I hope they are as high quality as the OFP models (or better).

I would think that it would have been easier converting the OFP stuff, but you are the addon maker so I assume that you know best what is easiest for you (or better quality for the mod). My main point is that if you guys have enough for a small pack in ArmA, its better to release something to get people started as far as missions go. The primary reason is because the release date for ArmA2 is not set in stone so you may end up waiting a long time to release your pack and may face some nasty little surprises as far as changes in configs and model structure go. Also some players may not even switch to it if it is not significantly better then ArmA.

But again, that is your decision if you wish to wait and if you are doing everything over from scratch, then I am assuming that most of the vehicles still need to be made.

As for the OFP mod, I guess I need to go bug Hellfish about releasing what was made for OFP because that is a HUGE HUGE waste of work and effort if the Bushfires stuff made in OFP is now basically thrown away. The whole point of it not being released was that they were going to convert everything over to ArmA.

But oh well. OFP still lives on and I'm going to ask him if I can at least release the beta pack I have for OFP.

Thanks for the info.

I just read through the "News" section of their homepage, and it seems to me that the "mini-mod" will include the "Cuito Cuanavale area" map. Hopefully I'm correct here, but I think this may be the map you are speaking about.

Check out the "News" section on their website if you haven't done so already. There's some info/pix about the mini-mod there, maybe you can tell if that is the map you are wondering about. It looks pretty damn good judging from the WIP screens

well that was the entire problem i did not modify anything but the requirement section about the pilot and i deleted the config.bin and only kept the CPP file

so i am all out of the loop (althoug through te error the units still function perfectly with there original configs its only anoying tho get the error all the time

i will wait for the new config and then see what to do further

Hello, can you guys from the mod please update quick the aluette2 and 3 for solving that odd error message with the bwc_pilot requirement? I mean i could do this on my own, but then the Key plus the bi.key wouldn't match anymore - which would make it useless for us.

Hi BWC staff!

I know that this is an old thread, but I have just found out that your Puma has the same pilot error that mr. g-c reported for the Alouettes... could you fix these great helicopters?

Regards,

Mathias

Hmmm. I don't see any crate for them in the Editor. If there is know crate, you are gonna have to use the addweapon/addmagazine commands in the init line of a unit or weapons crate.

Maybe I missed the crates though but I'm a little shocked a pack with this many weapons does not have a crate.

i couldnt find any crate in the editor and i couldnt find it anywhere and the weapons also

If that's the case then you're gonna have to add the weapons to any crate or unit via the init line with the addweapon and addmagazine command and the corresponding class names from the ReadMe.

I got strange thing with your weapons:

1. I put normal soldier and got FPS 75

2. I rearm him with your weapons and FPS got down to 20-40

3. I put normal soldier again and FPS is still 20-40

Do you know this bug?

Okay guys.

A lot of people have been waiting a long time for this...   And after some hard work and very long hours, the Bushwars Mod team is happy to announce:

The public release of our South African Defence Force and SWAPO soldier packs!

Quote[/b] ]In 1965 the first infiltration by armed insurgents of PLAN (People's Liberation Army of Namibia) took place over the border of Southern Angola/Ovamboland, and set in motion what was to become a war lasting 23 years and ultimately involving not only Namibians and South Africans, but also Angolans, Cubans, Russians and Americans.

The SADF would bring new weapons into service, improve transport in the form of mine-protected vehicles, and establish new units of specialist forces which included Bushman trackers, cavalry units and elite units such as the "Recces" and "Pathfinders". Black units were also formed and few could have foreseen at that time that the remnants of the FNLA force which failed so badly at Luanda would later, under the leadership of the renowned Col. Jan Breytenbach, form one of the most feared units of the entire war - "32 Battalion", also known as the "Buffalo Battalion". The standard of training of the Angolan Army also improved significantly under the influence of the Cubans, however, and they provided a haven on the Angolan side of the border for SWAPO.

External or cross-border operations by the SADF against both SWAPO and FAPLA became commonplace. Almost every year saw a new major operation take place, up till the last days of the war which ended in 1989.

We are pleased to release the first batch of soldier units. A big thank you to ASZ and CimaleX for the modification and textures and the months of work put into the soldier models. Falcon1 applied the final touches to the SADF soldier pack. Our team member SAAF developed a script for the SADF Mortar Platoon which enables them to pack and carry the M3 mortar and place the mortar for fire support missions. We have tried to keep the soldiers as realistic as possible and Falcon1 did everything possible to keep them authentic with the pat67 and pat82 webbing.

SADF_v1_15.jpg

The pack includes a variety of soldiers from a SADF Colonel to a crew member. All the weapons are from our custom weapons pack.

M3_mortar.jpg

The M3 81mm mortar was made with the SADF troop pack in mind. After suggestions and extensive testing by Ou Matroos, SAAF modified and implemented the Real Artillery Mod scripts by Jones. This gives the mortar platoon a realistic capability of firing indirect rounds during game fire missions.

SWAPO_v1_15.jpg

More hard work by ASZ and CimaleX. This time its the SWAPO/PLAN soldier pack.

The People's Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN), SWAPO's military wing.  In 1966, the South-West Africa People's Organisation (SWAPO) began guerrilla attacks on South Africa, infiltrating the territory from bases in Zambia. After Angola became independent in 1975, SWAPO established bases in the southern part of the country. Hostilities intensified over the years, especially in Ovamboland.  SWAPO tactics followed that of the Warsaw Pact armies during the cold war, as members were trained in Russia, East Germany, Tanzania (under Eastern Block command), etc. Armed groups ranging from a handful to several hundred, armed with light weapons such as AK 47's, MG's, RPG 7's, mines, etc. operated from SWAPO bases deep inside Angola. These groups infiltrated SWA during the rainy season (due to scarcity of water in the semi-desert region), and conducted terror activities against the SADF and local population. Terror activities included ambushes, mining of roads, terrorising local population supporting the SADF, recruiting new Plan members (sometimes forcefully), etc. SWAPO/PLAN suffered about 11400 casualties during the Bush War 1966-1989.

Soldiers wear variations of the different cammo schemes, the most common one being the East German "Rice Pattern" . All weapons are from our custom weapons pack.

Next week we will add the FAPLA, 32 Battalion and SADF Parachute Brigades commonly referred to as the "Parabats". The Ovamboland island is also near completion. So we are working towards a mini-mod teaser release with missions by CimaleX before ArmAII is released.

Obmar

Bushwars Mod Team

Enjoy!  wink_o.gif
