^^ Had that sig since yesterday, kind of a welcome back present to placebo because he once told me to remove it - i simply had to test if the "unbannable" status works.

It's quite common actually. Maybe not the harrasment as much, but in most workplaces I've been through, anything that can vaguely relate to being pornographic/explicit or a bit too... ermmm...'naughty' is liable to land you in trouble.

I agree with Winters. I've had a couple of complaints about the signature you see below (or dont see below if you've had the sense to disable signatures if you feel offended by such content). Infact, my signature was the subject of a near-two-page discussion in the "Ask a Moderator" thread. The fact that the moderators took the same "Its not nudity so its alright" stance says it all.

before i discover book marks and links on firefox i had to google BI forum. if any friends or colleagues were watching many of the options were to other sorts of BI forums lol.

im more worried about when i view these forums at work (like now) at some pages it says BI FORUMS at the top or on the tab, now i dont want my co-workers thinking im that way inclined

If you are at work, does not matter if you posted it or not. If you are looking at it and someone is offended by it, it is a form of harrasment. YEs it sucks, but that is the world we live in.

As long as the sig doesn't break the forum rules re: nudity I think the simple answer would be 'not to view these forums while you're at work.'

Why make the remainder of the thousands/hundreds of people pay for other peoples poor work ethic? (lol I have done this, I admit).

Stewy, nice to see some members gave you the process to keep your work place from having a meltdown.

It's sad that we are in a day and age where someone can be "offended" by such a normal thing you would see in every day life. But with work place laws geared the way they are these days it's always better to be safe then sorry.

I use Adblock Plus to "disable" avatars or sigs that are annoying for any reason.

But i don`t want to disable all of that complete, and with Firefox and Adblock Plus that can be done with no problem.

If you think worrying about semi naked women in sigs is bad try this:

I am in a LOMAC (flight sim) squad. We have a squad member that has been OFFICIALLY disciplined at work (a local Govt. authority in the UK) for viewing "undesireable" web content.

......Fine you'd think if he'd been browsing porn sites..... But the "undesireable" site was our very own forums!!

His work had installed software on their server that flags up employees browsing sites that contain any swear words..... And it caught onto a few in posts on our forums. First he knew of it was when he got called into his supervisors office and given a warning letter to sign!!

Moral of the story: Think carefully before using work PC's to browse internet forums.... You never know who (or what) is logging your internet activities!!

If he works in a big company he maybe should think twice before he surfs the web freely or at least ask someone what is tolerated and whats not.

Also i doubt people are worried about soem semi naked chicks in signature but more the fact you browse the web instead of work which is pretty obvious if you have a colourfull game forum on the screen at work.

The best solution for those with such problems may be to find the option in their control panel to simply disable avatars and signatures.

I work in a tiny shop so noone really cares what i look at when nothing is to do, at least one benefit in this job

Seriously, if you surf the web (which is indeed a reason to get fired ) during your worktime you should be smart enough to disable the sig´s if the y do so much harm.
