MehMan 0 Posted August 23, 2007 Now, lets not let this topic die at a time like this! Well, this is more of a done than working on, but it depends on which stage you look at it: If you look at it from the whole model+texture view, it's still in the WIP stage. If you look at it from the unwrap view it's done. Now I hope I'm not breaking any rules in this topic, again. I hate unwrapping.
JdB 151 Posted August 23, 2007 You're good at it though
Bracken 0 Posted August 23, 2007 Really great job! I finished my first (semi)complicated attempt at UV mapping last week. Â Took me 15 hours + over three weeks. Â Now looking at yours, I realise something must of gone abit wrong. Â Thanks for posting though, has helped me out abit
Sennacherib 0 Posted August 24, 2007 nice crusader (MK 1 or MK 2?). this tank is one of my preferred of the ww2.

Marxis 0 Posted August 24, 2007 nice! you used new tools?
Messiah 2 Posted August 24, 2007 was modeled with the old tools and partly texture with them too. new tools for the rest
Blackbuck 9 Posted August 24, 2007 I really don't get why this topic isn't pinend as it stops excess threads building up IMHO. That landie looks fabulous Messiah, Can't wait to see a WMIK from you
Messiah 2 Posted August 24, 2007 sitting with it now, but I don't care for showing stuff with a mixture of untexured and textured... even though I guess this is a WIP thread - still some work to do on the cage, and I'm still not sure how detailed I want to go with the cage (in terms of fixings, mounts, bolts, etc)
nephilim 0 Posted August 24, 2007 nice work on that one messiah. now get it dirty and used looking the tires might benefit from a little bit more structure the sides look quite flat, and a normal map could only camo this from front can you post a wireframe?
Messiah 2 Posted August 24, 2007 dirt, bumps, scratches are due next - paint chips et al strange you should mention the tyre walls actually. Showed this to the rest of the guys and it was one of the points brought up. Going to resolve that later - shouldn't be too hard, nor should it affect the UV too much (well, depends on how much I do) I'll try and sort out a wire frame later - 3D preview is fairly useless as I'm sure you're away for showing a wireframe, and I'll have to alter the texture panel to show the UV as a texture - but I'm lazy so will have to work up the effort to do this could always export to 3dsmax, but then I'd have to set up lights, and thats even more annoying
Commando84 0 Posted August 24, 2007 very nice car messiah! Yeah as said , some dirt on the wheels would be nice, though will it be Uk dirt or sandy aafrican, mid east dirt?
Messiah 2 Posted August 24, 2007 depends on the situation - the dessie ones will get the usual sand blasting and the green ones will get the usual mud and crap plastered on. perhaps I'll get a red sand ala sierra leone version done, but we'll see on time and if I can be bothered don't fret, no more of this 'driven off the showroom forecourt' look any more from me... although it does mean I'll have to try yet again to learn how to make mud.
