olemissrebel 0 Posted July 21, 2008 most everyone in iraq wears nomex now, but the new ones look identical to the ACUs, except they retain stains more so than the normal ones. a one piece tan flightsuit version would be nice, much like the marines, as we wore them for awhile. to make these perfect, in an outsiders opinion. standardize gear, flashy 'cool' gear is nice, but generic, and realistic is preferrable IMO. can't go wrong with FLC and Molle. No unit patches, reasons previously stated. They need to be nasty, filthy, these guys look like they just got in country, with their clean uniforms. Helmets and vests should be stained darker than the uniform, because they are rarely, if ever, washed. eye pro on all soldiers, it's always worn, oakley M frames, or ESS type, clear, or dark lenses. i never even wore the goggles even as a gunner my first tour, glasses worked fine. of course those are all personal, nit-picky grievances, they look awesome as they are. my favorite addon released so far for this game
leone35130 0 Posted July 21, 2008 This is a great addon over the default soldiers. Is there any way to carry over the PVS-14 goggles into a replacement of the default PVS-7 nods?
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted July 21, 2008 Not at this stage as the new NODs require a custom proxy, and this would take an edit of the BIS models as well as a config edit.

Sneaker-78- 0 Posted August 16, 2008 i have an question about this: i have installed it on my client, put in a folder (@CMCD_1ID_US_INF_REPLACEMENTS) and put this in in the shortcut (-mod=@CMCD_1ID_US_INF_REPLACEMENTS) and the server has the key in the key folder, but when i play eveolution or warfare i see the "old uniforms " so what do i wrong
CrazyAce 0 Posted August 16, 2008 Dono about evo, but for Warfare I believe you will have to change the starting soldier squads manually... Don't quote me on that, I could be wrong with the replacements.
manzilla 1 Posted August 16, 2008 I always had this problem with EvoSP, I could never get my recruited members to change. They always looked the same as vanilla. It may be a conflict with another Mods/AddOns. Are you using TrueMods as well? I found out last night that "true1stpersonpov.pbo" causes BLUFOR replacement files not to work. Make sure you aren't using this .pbo if you use TrueMods.
Sneaker-78- 0 Posted August 16, 2008 i use treugameplaymods yesl, but i don`t see the "true1stpersonpov.pbo"
Sneaker-78- 0 Posted August 16, 2008 i just tested it mod by mod and the "xam 1.4" has an conflict with it
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted August 27, 2008 Cammy, what is the deal with the shadow on your Army blokes' faces? It's a triangular shape. Is that an error or something of that sort? Can you make it so that the Soldiers do not use the "old-school" Camelbaks? I'm referring to the old, black and OD Green ones. These are just suggestions. What you do is up to you. Â By the way, what are the Soldiers wearing on their backs? It's the size of a Camelbak, but looks like it is used for cargo. I saw Jonny's Marines wearing a tan version of it. This question is addressed to anyone who may know. 1. Looks like the nose is casting a funky shadow. Will look into it. 2. Will try my hardest. 3. That's a MOLLE harness of sorts for the Camelbak - the top flap is where the hose comes out. It saves having to wear the straps. Both USMC and Army units wear it, as far as I've seen. EDIT - I'm still working hard on these, btw, although some modelling help would be lovely. Many thanks to Jonny once again for his patience and support. He is the true author of these units - never forget!
Halochief89 0 Posted August 27, 2008 For some reason after looking at several pictures of the new US uniform I think the MICH 2000 helmet needs to be a smidget bigger since I bought one myself. But thats my opinion.
Whiskey27 1 Posted August 27, 2008 For some reason after looking at several pictures of the new US uniform I think the MICH 2000 helmet needs to be a smidget bigger since I bought one myself. But thats my opinion. Well the ACH, which is the correct term to use for what these 1st ID guys would have, does come in 3 different sizes.

miles teg 1 Posted August 28, 2008 They're not?? Then what kind of helmet are they wearing? They definitely aren't PASGT helmets. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
NoRailgunner 0 Posted August 28, 2008 Wasnt that army took ACH and marines LWH? What about this "US Land Warrior system" is it in duty?
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted August 28, 2008 It's an ACH for the Army and an LWMH for the USMC. The 1ID troops are wearing ACHs, as per real life.
manzilla 1 Posted August 28, 2008 Wasnt that army took ACH and marines LWH? What about this "US Land Warrior system" is it in duty? Not even close. Many years until it will be fully integrated.
miles teg 1 Posted August 29, 2008 Well I learned something new today... the US Army conventional forces indeed do not use the MICH but the ACH. I had no idea what an ACH was until now. With that siad, they look almost identical so please forgive me or anyone else who calls the hemet a MICH helmet because it is indeed based on the MICH helmet. Anyhoo.... minor detail. What counts is that these addons look amazing. I agree with others that yeah the uniform could use some dirtying up a bit. But I am super happy that the shoulder armor pads were included. I had been looking for a US Army with that for a long time. Does anybody know what those shoulder pads are called? I've been looking on the internet for information on those, but it is VERY scarce. Aside from protection I believe they serve a definite psychological value as they make the soldiers look a lot more "buff" and more like an ancient Roman legionnaire. All we need now is the horse hair along the top of the helmet and side facial protection. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted August 29, 2008 DAPs - Deltoid and Axillary Protectors.
Whiskey27 1 Posted August 29, 2008 Hey cam, I know you don't know me. But Ill tell you that adding DAPs may be a good thing for realism, but honestly they aren't really used. Â I've seen MP units using them, and some others. But if you want an honest to god 1st ID impression, well....we didn't use em except maybe gunners(hmmv gunners that is)
miles teg 1 Posted August 29, 2008 I noticed that as well that only Humvee gunners seemed to use them. However as you were there, did you hear any reports regarding effectiveness as far as reducing injury to that area of the body? Stuff like that is improtant. Aside from that if I were still in the Army, I probably would still like some of those DAP's even dismounted as they just make ya look a hell of alot more intimidating. Now if I had to run a few thousand meters with them, I might change my mind. lol! However I should note that the great thing about this mod is that you have a CHOICE of units with and without the DAP's. ThANK YOU FOR THAT!!! Many addon makers do not give you a choice between such things. So as long as I have a choice, I am VERY VERY happy with this addon pack. Freedom of choice is a beautiful thing! CameronMcDonald 146 Posted August 29, 2008 Use of DAPs and the groin/kidney pads depends on CO, IIRC. A mate of mine who served over in Iraq (3rd ID, IIRC) was telling me that in the bad ole days (before things calmed down as much as they have today) his platoon would throw on as much gear as they could before going out. I will maintain the choice, although I might put the lighter armoured units under 1st Infantry Division (L) rather than having (L) in the display name (which looks a bit dodge), and I might randomise some of the lighter units to have the groin and kidney pads, or a combination of both for shits + giggles. Elite SEAL 0 Posted August 29, 2008 Randomise via scripting or some such? Will there still be light units without any of the extras, just the vest and such. Have you considered adding any units with drop-leg tactical holsters?

Wigon Our SOP, was to wear side plates, groin protectors, throat protectors at all times when in sector. In the beginning the DAPs shoulder pads were required but usually left for gunners only as they did not have to move around much. But it eventually boiled down to everything BUT the shoulder pads. But they use the IOTV now instead of the IBA so things might work a little different now with how everything is setup.
