Messiah 2 Posted April 22, 2007 can the addons creation section of the forum have all references to OFP removed, so that there is no confusion that it is a place for both arma and ofp related questions. at the moment certain members who are a little confused, are posting 10 or so seperate threads for very minor questions in the addons and mods complete/discussion, without searching these existing forums and posting in those relevant places. And for the record it wasnt a rant , you asked me a question and this prompted my reply.
karantan 0 Posted April 23, 2007 Why did I received a warning for a flamebiting, but the one who started with flamebiting didn't? This has been explained via PM. This indeed has been 'explained' ( ), but not solved, not solved at all. Just for you all to know; something very fishy is going on here, it stinks to Pluto and back ,,, I can even smell my banning ,,,

This should be dealt with in private if it involves complaints of other members.
TheElite 0 Posted April 23, 2007 Quote[/b] ]This is the 'Ask a moderator' thread. What is your question and who are you quoting? This should be dealt with in private if it involves complaints of other members. I am quoting a moderator and i agree it should be kept in private and indeed was , until the moderator brought it to the public domain. the moderator in question is in my sig that was changed/deeted. by said moderator. And to make the point again its the nature in which a private pm was quoted / reffered to in the public domain that is my complaint not my sig.
shadow 6 Posted April 23, 2007 This thread is for asking moderators about the board and it's rules, not ranting on how you got treated by a moderator. If you dont have a question, please refrain from posting in this thread.
TheElite 0 Posted April 24, 2007 no problem. Its solved, the same moderator simply raided my account again and did what ever they wanted , i dont see any rule i have broken and as my attempts to point the offence out are failing , i will just keep stum. blackdog~ 0 Posted April 25, 2007 Dearest forum moderation team, I was recently updating my avatar when I stumbled upon something that I found totally outrageous: an avatar entitled uploaded_croc. I am afraid that I will get banned for posting the gruesome image on this forum because it is just so awful. I propose that whoever did this be banned, for they have violated the forum rules of: Quote[/b] ]§6) No posting of explicit images No posting of pictures containing porn, real killing, mutilations, wounds, carnage, and other disgusting/explicit images. This also includes links to pages that contain such images. PS: Could you please change my forum title back to "OF Fan". I don't know why you changed it in the first place. Edit: I also found this avatar -- -- which I find to be rather offensive.
Billabong81 0 Posted April 25, 2007 I agree with blackdog. The decision to allow the upload of avatars was not very wise in my humble opinion. Be prepared for people to do the unspeakable .
SpeedyDonkey 0 Posted April 25, 2007 I fully agree. This is an insult to all the female forum members (and feminist males). And I don't like it one bit!
shadow 6 Posted April 25, 2007 The decision to allow the upload of avatars was not very wise in my humble opinion. Â I agree and I dont know why it was enabled. Quote[/b] ]Be prepared for people to do the unspeakable . I have disabled that function for members now. The two images in question will be removed soon (its out of my hands). baddo 0 Posted April 25, 2007 Hmmm... but what does it change? People can use an avatar of their choice even when no upload functionality is provided? In both cases the moderators need to moderate the avatars too. Of course, you can just disable avatars completely so that solves it

Yeah, but then at least these "rule breaking" avatars won't be using BIS webspace anymore It's like Youtube having copyrighted material on it, but to a lesser extent (only the "law" of this forum applies). BIS is not a free host for things that break their terms of use on their own websites or forums, it's not in their interest.
baddo 0 Posted April 25, 2007 Letting users upload avatars is a way to speed up the operation of the forums - you download only from one server and not from hundreds of different servers, which cost you time as your computer must establish a connection to all of the places where you want to download files from. So there is some reasoning behind the decision to allow it.

I'm not (and I don't think very many others are) too concerned about saving 1/16 of a second on page load times mate.
