FFUR 2006 2.0 Total conversion pack

It'll improve FPS due to less memory usage. OFP loads .paa files with 8 alpha bits, when .pac 1 (is/isn't) - it's most important on untransparent vehicles textures - like ICP tanks - they have 2048x2048 untransparent external texture. And it's currently named .paa  crazy_o.gif  to change this, it's needed to edit unbinarized .p3d to change texture path.

Don't think it'll improve anything, man!

First of all- FFUR2006v2 is already perfectly lag-free mod, as I stated previously.

Second...What OFP consumes most, as you know, is the raw CPU power (due to heavy AI handling&EH-scripting per unit) but NOT graphics card's one.

For example..even "Hi-resolution Malden by Symbiot & Atherakhia" I'm currently playing missions on (it has huge 2048x2048 texture resolution) doesn't give me any lag at all on vanilla unmodded OFP.

And my Gfx card is just an old %#$tty 5900XT crazy_o.gif

But the same island lags like hell in conjunction with..let's say FFUR5.0 wink_o.gif

I'm pretty sure that most people here have powerful up to date graphics adapters capable of running all modern games smoothly, so I don't think that degrading textures would be the best way to improve anything.

Cheers.

im having a very annoying problem.. in the campaigns, spmission, editor.. i dont have the notebook with your orders on it how do i solve it?

I have the same problem. Even if i don't run FFUR 2006 2.0 my note book has disappeared. How can we get it back?

I'n not sure if your having the same problem as I had before, but you have to open up FFUR, move your mouse to the furthest left on the map screen, then click and drag right. Then notes should come with it from off the screen.

You can only fix this in FFUR because the new notebook has a invisible part on its right that you can drag.

It's hard to explain, but thats how I fixed it. I played through an entire user made FDF campaign thinking it wasn't ment to have any briefings tounge2.gif

1. I have GF2 MX400 - how would you comment that?  rofl.gif  I have no lag too, but low FPS in bigger missions - due to .paa hegemony  crazy_o.gif low end GFX cards calculate them very slowly.

2. .pac-izing doesn't mean DEGRADING... it's only removing alpha channels calculation and it improves >FPS<. There's no difference in texture look when it's fully untransparent.  nener.gif I've checked it with some unbinarized addons, .pac-izing really improves FPS on my machine.

I say only about textures that are whole intransparent or have only one alpha channel, like Tunguska/T80UM/T90S external textures.

I've almost forgot forgot - there is unneeded ICP T72 data in FFUR_RU_ARM.pbo  wink_o.gif

Somebody positively should drop smoking and money will start to appear magically  tounge2.gif  . Just a joke, man. Wish you be lucky and wealthy biggrin_o.gif . The fact that you don't have lags with your specs amazes me.

We've CfgTextureToMaterial applied here all around, so...just keep'em usin' your "unbinarized addons" nener.gifrofl.gif

hmmm . I have a theory.

Flashpoint came out in 2000 right ? so we need to check out what was the best PC you could buy in 2000 and buy one like that and you are lag free tounge2.gif

I have 512 MB of RAM and Sempron 2200+ & my superconfigurated (by me) Windows XP Pro yay.gif so no lag in OFP. GFX card & HDD are weak points.

"unbinarized addons" (I've thought about .p3d's) need to be binarized when useless .paa changed to .pac wink_o.gif they both shine like each other then xmas_o.gif

And I'm not smoking or either drinking tounge2.gif just Polish scout

Optimise, optimise & optimise. Then it'll run on GF4Ti4200 without any problems...

[OT] Have you seen THAT?

plus that the engine is not optimized for current tech. So the better your hardware is, it won't make the difference it should make, because the engine is holding you back. OFP will eventualy die because of this. Arma is optimized obviously and as you can see on the newest screenshot's it looks MUCH better than even FFUR2006 (which is by far the best OFP I've seen so far). Still, FFUR2006 is an extremely good addonpack and is the certainly streching the lifetime of OFP untill Arma get's released.

It's stuff like this that keeps me playing OFP. Keep it up!! thumbs-up.gif

Please stop griping about the FOV, when it's ready to be released I'll take the two seconds it takes, and make a config that has the OLD fov, and perhaps he'll include it, if not, it's been stated many times (that is, how to change it)

Heres a FOV fixed bin folder for those who aren't comfortable with using the 3rd party utilities for what ever reason.I for one understand and sympathize with them, as you have to be a veteran in flashpoint in order to understand alot of "how to's " in editing...and its mind boggleing.All you have to do is swap the bin folders in your ffur install.If your worried about it, just make a copy of the original ffur bin folder in case you mess up.link below...

Now how simple was that???Rather than rantin n' raven about the bitchin.

TB will there be an update to why people die multiple times in multiplayer games when shot by numerous rounds all at once? This is causing peoples corpes to stay alive while they spawn all bugged in missions. Then once the first corpse despawns everything returns to normal.

Anyone else expiriencing this? I can only assume that it is due to the life meter and the fact that it buggs out sometimes, but I could be wrong.

Loving the new FFUR so far, but one thing that highly annoys me is the "white is new green" thing. I don't know if it was mentioned before, but most of the green markers that are by default green, and left on the default setting when placed (I.E. Official Campaigns), are now white and hardly readable.

Could it be fixed please?

Also, the new FOV is really bad, it makes the weapons in hand look really weird and out of proportion, but I fixed that myself.

{

inBack=0.000000;

position[]={-0.093078,-0.005539,0.320000};

positionBack[]={-0.169209,-0.005754,0.800000};
