jakerod 254 Posted May 9, 2006 Should the Entire palm tree move including the trunk? Palm trees have very shallow roots so I think that it does seem kind of accurate.
berghoff 11 Posted May 9, 2006 Should the Entire palm tree move including the trunk? Well the shadows remains in the same place So maybe it just an optic illusion. ._.

Guest Ti0n3r Posted May 9, 2006 I'm pretty sure he meant the bottom/body part of the tree
bravo 6 0 Posted May 9, 2006 ok, but still Palm trees foliage dont move at all edit: shouldnt they move?
ziiip 1 Posted May 9, 2006 Of course they should move, but hell, I'm sure BIS will make it move.
ralphwiggum 6 Posted May 9, 2006 I think the palm trees are swaying a bit more than it has too. If the palm tree moves that much than the wind is pretty heavy. And I mean quite strong wind. Hope they reduce it a little.
deanosbeano 0 Posted May 9, 2006 agreed , as this video shows ,there very strong trees. palm trees swaying i think it should be more like this, palm trees swaying

bravo 6 0 Posted May 9, 2006 if you guys notice the tree shadows dont move at all!! none. use fast mode...
Colossus 2 Posted May 9, 2006 How much importance does that make in a firefight? It will only drain preformence from the PC if it sways back and forth.
bravo 6 0 Posted May 9, 2006 none. i was just pointing at realism.
kernriver 4 Posted May 9, 2006 I guess the way that palms sway is wrong in the first place. There shouldn't be so much movement. Or are the palm trees that week? It was in the video probably just to show us what we can expect, it's not finished yet...

NeMeSiS 11 Posted May 9, 2006 none.i was just pointing at realism. Mwah, realism in gameplay is much more important then realism in graphics IMO...
sbsmac 0 Posted May 9, 2006 Movement of tree shadows doesn't bother me. The 'patrolling' animation is extremely good and reminds me of real-life footage but if I was to nitpick I'd suggest that the soldiers should look from side to side occasionally ! Maybe they're doing this but it's not obvious from the video.
Guest Ti0n3r Posted May 9, 2006 I don't think unit/object shadows are their top priority right now. I guees they'll be animated too, sooner or later. And if you don't want animated tree shadows? Turn them off Quote[/b] ]Maybe they're doing this but it's not obvious from the video. I'm pretty sure they do that already
codarl 1 Posted May 9, 2006 I think they used a generic type of "sway", for all trees... so these palm trees sway in thesame way as "ofp" trees. I hope they make the level of sway dependand on the "mass" (as in the O2-term) of the tree.

Muhad 0 Posted May 9, 2006 One thing I didn't like about the video. When shooting the enemy huge round globs of blood came out. Not at all realistic and look rediculous. Otherwise game seems ok. I'm ready! Something that I don't want to see is third-person view. I think this it's a form of visual explotation.

martinovic 0 Posted May 10, 2006 Those palms... they shouldn't sway like that, only the leaves. Neither should anyother tree sway like that if the trunk is thicker then 10 cm in my opinion. But meh i'll ignore it or mod it, leaves should be swaying not trees. :O
