shataan 1 Posted December 3, 2005 Hyas all! (S) I am back, and so happy to see the new screens and info on Armed A. Cannot tell you how freaking sick I am of all the craptastic mil combat games of late. Flashpoint really was awesome. This new one couldn`t have come at a better time. Blanco 0 Posted December 3, 2005 Nice to see some new ArmA pics, but I'm really disappointed about the water, it looks even worse then OFP1 water (without Dxdll)
Heatseeker 0 Posted December 3, 2005 Finally some good news, it looks very impressive and promissing. And Dimitry Lukin got back with BI studio too, that is also very positive to hear, judging from the pics on BIS top secret mini site im sure he was missed . I feel very happy to hear/see more about Aras, i hope a publisher will come up soon .

ziiip 1 Posted December 3, 2005 Anyone noticed that when a vehicle is destroyed, it doesn't deform in that stupid way. Not a huge deal, but I think it's very nice! Maybe this is applied houses and other structures.
saburo 0 Posted December 3, 2005 I cannot sleep by joy at the night....
Balschoiw 0 Posted December 3, 2005 That´s the problem with BIS... They plan to go for a simple expansion and end up in a total conversion Very nice work dudes !
kavoven 4 Posted December 3, 2005 http://ofp.gamezone.cz/news/pics3/ArmA_Progress_01.jpg If I look carefully at the hills on the right, I think I can see smaller cells... *only guessing* ^^

T 2000 0 Posted December 3, 2005 looks gd, but I hope it's still WIP screens . Graphics are ok, but u could tune it a little I'm waiting for arma to be released (hope it'll be soon )
Zendjir 0 Posted December 3, 2005 Finally some info! I was starting to worry a little. I'm especially excited about the MP news, arcadeish games like BF2 are only fun for a while. I'm glad I got a fast connection, that's 1 thing less that needs updating on my computer The graphics are ok, but nothing breathtaking. When I look at them I remember the sterile environments of ofp, I never quite lost the 'sandbox' feeling after finishing CWC. The picture of the oilpump gave me that eery feeling again. Little details like grass, little critters and environment sounds really add to the atmosphere. Can any1 who has played Elite tell me how that has been worked out? Quote[/b] ]Unique and proven combatant's AI. Does this mean they have not changed the AI? I hope not, although I always have my trusty AI script at hand. Anyway, back to saving up for a new rig again!
lendrom 0 Posted December 3, 2005 Quote[/b] ]Unique and proven combatant's AI. Does this mean they have not changed the AI? I hope not, although I always have my trusty AI script at hand. That's what im also worried about. ArmA could have the same graphics as OFP allowing BIS to focus on AI (and leaving CPU's resources for AI). Anyway if ArmA is to have oryginal campaigns the AI cant be changed too much because it could ruine their gameplay (look how different is oryginal campaign's gameplay when using ECP or FFUR)... Im affraid that means no suppresing fire and AI taking cover. I'd be very glad to be proven wrong.
esti_the_big 0 Posted December 3, 2005 I haven't seen any real forests on those pics... while the flats look quite good, with a lot of objects, the surrounding hills look rather emty, no dense forests like we're used to in ofp... http://www.bistudio.com/games/aa/ArmA_Progress_06.jpg http://www.bistudio.com/games/aa/ArmA_Progress_01.jpg I hope its just because of the choice of angle or viewing distance or whatever, but it'd really suck if no forest was included anymore (can't really imagine a reason for that though...) No word about dds as well, looks like its gonna be game2 exclusive Would have been the greatest improvement for me. But apart of that it looks great, especially since it seems the performance will have been enhanced a lot!
mattxr 9 Posted December 3, 2005 Who is Victor Bocan???
Nilz 0 Posted December 3, 2005 Looks very good to me. IMHO the water, brightness of houses and bumpmapping needs some fixing, but if they will look like that in the final release I will still be more than happy The models look very good though, especially that Littlebird. But 'nuff whining, maybe/probably this graphics engine wasn't made for DirectX 9 effects and stuff. Sure, the bugs can be fixed, but that takes time again. BIS has still done a great job converting the engine and removing bugs at the same time. Looks a bit like Game2 already

ArchangelSKT 0 Posted December 3, 2005 I`m very happy with this news too, and the new release date is just fine. A problem that they don`t have a publisher though, hope they won`t talk to EA Screens look very nice (for its purpose) and it will probably tie my over until OPF2
Kin Hil 0 Posted December 3, 2005 The addon community has already made OFP1 look better than this thing, and it hasn't taken them an infinity to do so. I'm praying that when this game is released (the end of days maybe?) that the modders will attack it like a pack of wild computer nerds and turn it into gold... otherwise it is a dull bronze. Leopardi 0 Posted December 3, 2005 Lol..GFX whore, how can you whine, it looks good, bettert than I thought, it is good GFX, we dont need better, is the graphics everything for you?

Metal Heart 0 Posted December 3, 2005 Quote[/b] ]The addon community has already made OFP1 look better than this thing Has the community made shadows addon? How about water-addon? How about addon that enables greater view distance without huge fps drop? Streaming terrain addon? Not to mention JIP and all the other non-graphics related updates. I mean, sure, if you're just in for the combat photography, OFP1 is enough, as you can just add the stuff that's missing in Photoshop or whatever.
