sickboy 13 Posted July 28, 2006 Excluding the MP & ACU configs (That would probably be included to an extra module envisaged for the next incoming days), the new FFUR 2006 2.0 is almost totally complete and would hopefully be released before the end of the current week. (including the weekend :-)).Good news TB, congrats!Just a silly question, which I nearly always ask at a new release: How is the multiplayer functionality now (or incl. the upcoming mp config)? Can you use ALL the ffur features and effects in multiplayer now (saying that all incl. server run ffur)... or are there limitations of any kind... It would be so great if it would be like with ECP, totally multiplayer compatible, until the last detail Just a question... since I would be very interested if the same features, effects etc. etc. are there for multiplayer, and of coarse .. if possible .. synchronised (Like me having a big huge crater in the screen, while a m8 sees no crater, but a burning tank)... etc. etc. I'm crossing my fingers while awaiting answer...anyways, nice and good job doesn't matter which answer it's gonna be PS.. if the answer is no, then another question remains... are you guys planning on including it in another release? Thanks
AfrographX 0 Posted July 28, 2006 Will the rhs-hind be included in ffur 2.0 release?

456820 0 Posted July 28, 2006 This is sounding like a great release only wish i had my new computer Oh well... can we have a bit more info on the other types of configs such as the light configs? Also will there be a config which replaces the untis but keeps the original BIS explosion effects that would work perfect on my 5 year old computer.
max power 21 Posted July 28, 2006 I didn't say what my precise thoughts were for a reason. What you ass-u-me I meant, is not my problem You don't need to have any reason. What you said is what you said. It's not my problem whether or not you can adequately express yourself. This Ass-u-me, believe it or not, does not work in all situations. This is one of them. The ownus is on you to communicate what you mean. Regardless, there are few reasons that I can think of that would make what you were saying meaningful in any way. I'm actually developing a videogame from the ground up. In that way, I am familiar with the effort that goes into it, and how real life can make it nearly impossible for someone to make nevermind keep some kind of deadline. T-Bird has been nothing if not consistent in meeting milestones. As an amateur mod developer, he is extremely productive. Demanding results is somewhat flattering inasmuch as it conceeds interest, but it is mostly rude. Now, with regards to being able to have an opinion on FFUR, everyone has them. I was using my own opinion to distance myself from the fan-boys. I'm not in here to criticize or praise FFUR. I don't need to. I don't play it. I did, but I felt it wasn't for me; I didn't like it. Moreover, I'm not familiar with the current versions. My opinion of how FFUR plays and how I get along with T-bird himself is quite irrelevent to my opinion on the quality of his team as developers. Big-Rooney 5 Posted July 28, 2006 Thanks for the news TB. Loving these two new model additions, just beautiful. Looking forward to the release. Only a couple of days now. Thanks again TB
prodetar2 0 Posted July 28, 2006 ok this sucks... in the red hammer campaign after you destroyed the vulcans on malden and you think you are an hero or something( ) you get a cutscene about a village full of tank being destroyed (for some reason they disapear instead of destroy) you see yourself and you squad in a ural and a few m60 are aiming at you in slomo you are supposed to jump out the truck and run away while it is destroyed but because of the strong ural explosion you die and the camera should follow you when you run away from the tanks... but you are lying dead on the ground killed be by the ural exploding... and in the mission your alive... talking about bug
olemissrebel 0 Posted July 28, 2006 take the damn rucksacks off of the russian soldiers, they carry them, but when in combat they are usually left at a rally point, at least in the US army. its hard to walk with a 60 lb ruck, much less 3 to 5 second rush anyone

456820 0 Posted July 29, 2006 Also with the rucksacks the mission may not give them the info that there going into battle. They could be ambushed. Anyway i love the sound of the rucksack addition so please leave it it makes the soldiers look much nicer, but if they are taken out leave them on for the medics atleast.
prodetar2 0 Posted July 29, 2006 in addition to that medic bag can you make them stand out a lil bit more? if im injured im always looking for over 10mins for a medic maybe a big white band with a red cross on it?

How do you know they do? Most of the Russian military is Mechanized, so that means they strap it to thier vehicle, and let it carry the weight, and dismount and take care of business. Once finished with thier business, they will link up with the BMP and use that. Your average Russian soldier doesn't really carry much compared to the US soldier, because they have gobs of transportation anyways. Plus they forage off the land, etc. etc. Besides olemissrebel is US military, so you would think people in the US military might know something about the old Russian Army, you think? Big-Rooney 5 Posted July 29, 2006 Quote[/b] ]Besides olemissrebel is US military, so you would think people in the US military might know something about the old Russian Army, you think? What makes you think that. The Cold war is over the Russians and Americans are no longer enemies, thier not allies but thier also not enemies. And the Russian army has advanced alot since the Cold War Era.
-Snafu- 78 Posted July 29, 2006 I think the Russian soldiers in FFUR 2006 are good enough, the rucksack isn't a problem. Even though the Cold War is over both countries are still weary of each other, especially Russia with many eastern european countries joining NATO.
uncle reiben 0 Posted July 29, 2006 Doesn't take a military expert to know you have a physical advantage by ditching your ruck if possible. if you have to have it, you have to have it. if not, you leave it behind or with a vehicle. most of the time you'll wanna drop it, you're a hell of a lot more versitile without it, not to mention your profile is larger and gives you away. most of the time when contact is probable you'll be carrying as little as possible to accomplish the mission, which usually excludes a ruck. Patrol pack maybe for most OFP-esque missions no-ruck would probably be most realistic.
Big-Rooney 5 Posted July 29, 2006 Quote[/b] ]for most OFP-esque missions no-ruck would probably be most realistic. You really don't take notice of the rucksacks on the russian soldiers backs when your shooting at them.
10motb 0 Posted July 29, 2006 take the rucksacks away, if u let it on then you should reduce speed of russian soldiers and that would ruin gameplay, nobody would have a rucksacks on their back if bullets starts flaying u would dich it. Probably special forces would have them but that is another story. Leave them on on medics and dont put a red cross on it, then the medics looks like a target. Blackbuck 9 Posted July 29, 2006 unless your shooting them in the back running away... which i do quite often but thats besides the point what matters is the rucksacks are there look good as does everything else and should stay, however if you really want to have no rucks why not edit for personal use one of the RF/RHS addons minus the backpack in o2 if you cant do that put up with them! mattxr 9 Posted July 29, 2006 i knw the british military train with big rucksacks incase they get into a situation where they need to carry them they can with ease.
