New Screenshots

Recommended Posts

I'm getting the feeling that there either holding back on the good stuff or they hav'nt updated ALL the vehicle models as the only vehicles we get to see are the M1, Hummer and truck. I'm not being negative but i don't want a repeat of VBS1, when the OPFOR units and the majority of West vehicles included in the core where the exact same units in OFP. By that i mean texture and model wise. My point being, i don't want to pay for the same models THREE times  crazy_o.gif Because if that is the case then wouldn't it be a good idea for owners of OFP to be able to pay for a download link for the part of Armed Assault that they require.

Don't jump on my head guys as it's on a thought... smile_o.gif

hope this gets released soon,

the graphics were looking good,

but bf2 out does this,

ofcourse bf2 will not have the amazing sim feel this will,

guys,do hurry up with the release smile_o.gif

its been 3 years now since ofp,how much time do you need.

Pardon me but BF2 graphics were very FUBAR'd up atleast on my gfx card they appeared messy and lagged like hell for no reason. That game failed on nearly ALL fronts graphics , gameplay everything.

ArmA's graphics look fine and good enough and the if they hold back a bit of that eye candy for gameplay reasons i dont mind a bit.

Even if there will be 3 vehicles with the same model, you can download tons of addons from the internet. xmas_o.gif

Only problem with that is they wont be playable in the armed assault campaign...and i've already got tons of addons...I'd much prefer a highly polished game than having to download addons of the same vehicles made by the community. Also why do you think there are tons of addons. Becasue the game is over 3 years old and by todays standards the included vehicles are relativley poor quality. So thats why i would like better quality vehicles. Then the community wouldn't have to make the same model 3 or 4 times...... crazy_o.gif because the original would be very acceptable.

I like the building too. Also I like the sidewalks, the large town in the background and the new Blackhawk.

Lovin' these new screenshots!

Sarah looks great, but I wonder what it's supposed to be based on, geographically? To me, it kind of reminds me of Israel, especially with that farmland in the background of the third shot.

BIS makes me drool...

Thats the VBS M16A2, a thing thats kinda funny is that the VBS manual comes with a picture of the M16 used in older screenshots of armed assult.

Hmm, that might explain why it is called "Sarah", the name of Abraham's wife.  It would need more light-colored rocks in the ground in the greener areas, kinda like Greece or Italy.

Wow, good idea. I think you could be right with that smile_o.gif

So perhaps ArmA is about a Middle-east conflict smile_o.gif

On most of the screenshots I've seen of ArmA, there were enterable buildings. I wonder....

If you're getting at all buildings being enterable that isn't right because you can clearly see in a few of them that they aren't open. As of right now anyway but maybe they are upgrading that.

AFAIK BIS said ArAs will have a new island and campaign ArAs will AFAIK old Cold War Campaign, Resistance Campaign and a new Campaign wink_o.gif

So I ques the new campaign will be set in a tropical african island or a desert maybe afghanistan or Iraq wink_o.gif

A few palm trees doesn't really constitute a tropical region in my eyes. I mean you can plant a few palm trees anywhere. I think they are just around that building complex - look in the background, no other palm trees anywhere.

Yeah good point I guess. But what about the slightly older images such as Image or would that be an image from the older campaigns?

It's great that they use the old islands as well for screens. I've allways wanted to see how the Malden/Everon will look with this addon. They are still my favourite islands smile_o.gif.

well done BIS!

these screens look great. the flat look of the ground has been replaced by something better. a very smart choice in my opinion. as the 'flat light' look was OFP's biggest graphical problem imo.

its much darker and more interesting to look at. lots more vegetation and a richer environment. great.

the ideal is having ground and landscape and environemnt that look natural and offer convincing light and dark areas and textures where all is illumated naturally and consitently by light.

really looking forward to the release.

brilliant!

PS - just hope AI cant see through vegetation. lol. yay.gif
