llauma 0 Posted August 11, 2004 1. OFP The version 1.0 was quite buggy and often just frustrating but something got me hooked. It wasn't just a FPS in a big suite but something totally new. The first shooter where a good aim wasn't your best weapon. The Resistance expansion is the best expansion ever released. 2. The Legend of Zelda (NES) Propably the best game ever considering what they had to play with at that time. The story and the music was outstanding. The other great thing with the game was the abbility to save the game. 3. Shogun Total War The first word that comes to mind is impressive. Enormous 3D enviroments and thousands of soldiers. The game wasn't about chance as it usually was but about real battle tactics. It allowed you to take advantage of high ground and forests to beat the enemy even when outnumbered. 4. Championship Manager 3 By far the best manager game ever made. The player database had almost accurate skills för tens of thousand players, from huge stars to lower division players in sweden. They have managed to get more accurate stats for some unknown amateur players than EA has for the star players in the FIFA games. It focused on the manager part and nothing more. No more setting the price for the hot dogs etc.. 6. Command & Conquer The game that really made RTS big. It's very simple but yet so fun. The first game I really played alot on LAN. We did nothing else than playing it on the new P 90's the school had bought. 5. Unreal Tournament Simply the best FPS.. Ultra fast, cool weapons and versatile maps. It's still one of the best games even though it came -99. 7. Mafia I have never seen a game so well done as Mafia. The music and the atmosphere was amazing. It's kind of a mix between GTA and Max Payne but it's been taken to a level above those two. 8. Black & White Propably the most hyped game ever when it came so when it turned out to be a quite complex and different people forgot it. The game world with the physics and AI was the most sophisticatic made so far. 9. Gran Turismo Real cars and great feeling. This was something new when the game came. The most groundbreaking racing game. 10. Fallen Haven You'll propably wonder what the hell this is but it's the game I had played most until OFP came. I went to the gas station and saw that they had some games for $5. I bought it and I have to say it was the best spent fuve bucks in my life. The game was a futuristic "RTS" but still turn-based. It also reminds of board games like Risk.

Sole 0 Posted August 11, 2004 1: Operation Flashpoint - duh 2: Jetstrike - great old sidescrolling game with tons of aircraft and missions 3: IL-2 Sturmovik - nice physics and damage modeling 4: Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn - The first and (allong with Red Alert) the only good C&C game 5: Gran Turismo 3 (PS2) - natural feeling driving physics and lot's of cars (and some nice music) 6: Grand Theft Auto Vice City - the fun of freedom 7: TFX (subtitle was: Tactical Fighter Experiment) - old flightsim I used to play for years 8: Metal Slug 1 (arcade emulator) - good old side scrolling shooter with a dose of humour 9: Raptor - classic top down scrolling shooter 10: Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe - Really old WW2 flight sim. Lot's of flyable aircraft and playable gunner/bomber positions in B-17. Hmm, only 10's not enough and had a bit of trouble getting them in the right order
The Real Armstrong 0 Posted August 11, 2004 1. Op Flashpoint (you know what Im talkin 'bout ) 2. Fallout 2 (The atmosphere, the humour, the, the hugeness) 3. Starcraft (It's just awsome, and the best balanced game ever) 4. Half-Life (It's just, so feckin good) 5. Fallout (It has everything Fallout 2 has, but F2 develop it even further) 6. Call of Duty (mostly 'cause this is the first time I have been in a serious clan) 7. Medieval: Total War (I've never seen so many farmer revolts in my days. Aparently folks don't like Muslims taking over the world ) 8. UFO: Enemy Uknown (Since I was only very little when it came out and I didn't really understood it, I played it a couple of years ago again and I couldn't walk away from it ) 9. Dune 2 (honourarly place, the first true RTS, and it still beat any of the C&C series by miles) 10. Close Combat 5 (This has everything. Except the menu music, argh! ) I am amazed how many people seem the don't know how to follow rules. I'm afraid many points on some very good games have to be disqualified due to people writing something I strictly told not to do (as it messes up with my point system)

The Frenchman 0 Posted August 11, 2004 1)Operation Flashpoint(PC)- 2)Metal Gear Solid(PS1)-One of the first games I owned that had such a deep plot 3)Age of Empires 2(PC)-Has everything I would want in an RTS. I cant wait for AoE3 4)HALO(PC)-Not only does it have a very good plot, multiplayer is a corpse humping, rocket hogging, team killing extravaganza! 5)Rise of Nations(PC)-Honestly the best RTS since AoE2 IMHO. Too bad the Americans are so over powered in the xpack. 6)Call of Duty(PC)-First serious clan I was in was in CoD. 7)Empire Earth(PC)-First 3D RTS that I owned. 8)Medal of Honor:Underground(PS1)-First of the MoH series to add friendlies. Not to mention a very interesting character. ;) 9)Jurassic Park The Lost World(PS1)- I loved being a raptor and pouncing on people from behind. It reminded me of the old Genesis game about the first movie. 10)Lords of the Realm 2(PC)- I loved this game. It was the only game I would play until I got Age of Empires. Me and a friend used to love pissing off the other lords and then own them.
