kerosene 0 Posted December 26, 2004 Please release it one day before christmas, because I will be away on vacation second christmas day We would love to... but you know, Santa's FTP is always busy before Christmas, therefore we're not sure the update will make it to Rovaniemi in time... Anyway, maybe it could at least ease your return home from the vacations. I figured that could mean any time over the next couple of days, not necessarily christmas or today. PainDealer 0 Posted December 26, 2004 I'm pretty sure the release date was meant to be "around christmas". might be just before or after new year as well.
Bobby - CSLA team 0 Posted December 27, 2004 I returned from holidays and I have found a lot of speculations here. It's time to correct all these speculations... 1/ It was said that we are preparing some release around Christmas. No date specified. See my post some days ago. As I said in that post, we are going to release some stuff these days and it is true. Works are finished, stuff was shortly tested during christmas weekend. 2/ BUT nobody said that it will be Lacerta expansion pack. What will be released are: CSLA 2 Update 1 pack FIA pack What will be inside of each pack (together with promo pics) will be announced today or tomorrow here and on CSLA page. Sorry for the delay, but it was caused by Santa's obsolete equipment...I think...

FIA pack sounds promising. Looking forward to some news about this. Update 1 is something I was also waiting for. Santa is still using his SantaSled Mk1938. Airbus offered him a newer model, but his sponsor Coca-Cola doesn't want him to drive a non-american sled. So that's why he's still using the old one
ShadowY 0 Posted December 27, 2004 I hope that we will release UPDATE1 for CSLA2 MOD in next month. There will be all previous patches, few new units, bugfixes and one campaign include. I think that best way is release this update as standalone version - all in one (but it is > 200MB download). Lacerta will be released separately. What speculation

Edge 2 Posted December 28, 2004 To clear things up: We simply wanted to finish some unfinished stuff before some intense work on other projects (like the desert expansion). We decided to kill some major bugs in CSLA II and add some new stuff to the basics. Our apologies to all those eager to play Operation Lacerta this Christmas, we should have been more clear about our plans. The CSLA Update 2.1 will contain mainly some additions and improvements to the world of Czech People's Army: - We decided to beef up the partisans with some new vehicles, including Marfy's FIA GAZ-69 (originaly made for his Lavos Project) and the camouflaged BMP-1 you see on the screens. Well, due to lack of time, we used only my old good guerillas for FIA, but their colours go well with the vehicles. - The whole Hind thingy was reworked: there were new weapons and realistic camouflage added, so Mi-24s are now those feared beasts from the East. - The update will contain also MiG-21 (thank you, FDF!), Jennik's amazing L-39 Albatros and fictious "L-410 Special Operations". - More of it: BRAND NEW DIGITALY-RECORDED POWERFUL SOUND OF SA-58 - I am sure you will love it. We were shot at, yelled at, we got arrested (in public demonstration only), some of us had to mess up with female military enthusiast, eat dirt and buy certain kind of cable to get that sound, but I guess it was worth all that. - Bad news for fans of our "pyjama partying" soldiers - we took our desert soldier model and used its body for new version of Czechoslovak soldier - expect better proportions, more "baggy" look and more realistic body shape, backpacks and pouches. We also revised unit composition and roles of particular trooper classes. Big thanks go to our military advisors! - You may also expect some fresh missions to play: Due to effort of our remaining mission-makers, Operation Paranoid (original campaign from CSLA 1) was coverted for CSLA II. Along with the "Paranoid Reloaded", we prepared some new missions, re-made some old ones from CSLA 1 and made a pack of user-made missions (thank you Czechoslovak OFP community!). I guess it's screenie time now: Czechoslovak Hinds. Old-fashioned Soviet Mi-24P. 3a CCCP! No caption necessary. Badly battered BMP of local resistance. FIA GAZ-69. Ka-50 with retractable gear. More screenshots will be uploaded soon at our homepage. I could be straight about Update's release date: We are currently more testing than working, so you could expect the update to be released soon. We decided to give up Christmas release and test everything severla times to assure you get fine-working stuff. However, some news are not so optimistic: I am sorry to announce that works on Operation Lacerta (including addons) are temporarily stopped. We neither cannot tell the release date now, nor even think of it - we are very far from Lacerta's release. Besides the technical issues, CSLA Mod Team experiences some internal difficulties which prevent us from working on OFP in normal way. Many talented people left the team for various reasons and we simply need more time for everything. However, we would still do our best to fine-tune CSLA Mod, although after Update 2.1 we will probably temporarily withdraw from the scene to learn, research and (of course) work on new stuff. Thank you all for understanding. Even though many of you our fans are dissapointed when reading this, but we feel we should be honest to the community. Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted December 28, 2004 the good news is great!! I like the fact that you use new soldier models and I'm eager to hear the new sounds awell. Looking forward to this release. I hope there will be a rip version aswell (I can't use the CSLA with FDF 1.3 for some reason)? The bad news is bad , but I understand it. Doensn't really matter. Just keep working and don't rush things. Keep up the good work!!
mr burns 132 Posted December 28, 2004 arrrrwesome news about the update ! i especially like the idea of using your old guerilla units as i use em as standard res anyway. looking forward to the campaign, just hoping that it´s easier than the one included in csla2.0 because that one was kinda too hard for me. good luck for your further work on ofp lacerta, it´s still my most wanted mod! ps: the bmp looks badass
Mr Burns prepares FDF´s sticky satchels
Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted December 28, 2004 About the old FIA units; Those are some of the best textured units I've seen and I still use them as standard FIA units. Those are absolutely awesome. I don't really need newer units for them. The BMP1 looks badass, but that GAZ truck looks awesome. I always liked the look of that truck. One of the few very old addons still on my HD.
