Sigh, I was up in the Western Isles of Scotland not two weeks ago. If I'd taken photos they'd be very much like your pics, Grim_Fandango. It's very Faro-esque up there. I left my camera up there to boot!

Yeah, the Faroe Isles are closely related to Scotland and Norway, which figures since they're basicly cut out of the same rock that forms the entire ridge from Norway to the Faroes to the Shetlands to Scotland, but it is definetely one of the most beautiful places I've ever been smile_o.gif

I've travelled all around Ireland but never been to Scotland, though it's definetely on my list as well.

If you are hunting lightning at night it's useful if you can manually operate the shutter (i.e set it to infinity) a feature which should be found on your camera IIRC. You also "need" to be a good kilometer or two away from your'e intended target. A good tripod is also a neccesity, since mostly you'll get exposure times well over ten minutes. Just have some patience in the beginning to find the most active area.

Trying to capture lightning at day is, as you can imagine pretty hard. You need to be dead quick with your reflexes. Which you kinda have to be at night aswell, but in daylight it's a totally different issue. I'd post my lightning ones, if they weren't still being developed, and if I had a scanner tounge2.gif

Good luck, mate! smile_o.gif

That should work too, just makes it a wee bit more challenging. Which isn't such a bad thing, just makes it more fun! smile_o.gif

Orangetree.jpg

The "Orangetree" in the Swedish mountains. I don't remember where I shot it, but yeah. It's a tree, there's snow... And I can't remember why it's called the "Orangetree" huh.gif

Naw, it was a car show a few weeks ago. But a man is wanting to trade my jeep for another truck, what do you think. Fair trade?

Don't ask me, I'm not that keen on american cars.

We had a Å koda Octavia before and that was a pretty nice/good car.

I however want a Mini which is red and has 2 white stripes going from the front to the end (or yellow and black stipes) inlove.gif

They look cool icon_rolleyes.gif

NSW, Australia, 2004.  I used a lot of different settings and only a few turned out.  Lots of noise in these, it's an old Olympus C-3000Z and I think it was 8 sec exposures w/ ISO 200.  Some were corrected with PS filters.

This bottom pictures shows how I was moving the camera all over (houselights) but when the lightning struck it exposed the scene in a fraction of a second so the horizon isn't too blurred.  It was really dark out so there wasn't much light besides the lightning flashes.

238 pictures from a private museum I had the pleasure of visiting. The M60 tank with the explosive blockers (can't remember their name - their the equivalent of ERA on Russian tanks) is going to be bought by an eccentric friend of my dad's for his best buddy's birthday xmas_o.gif

You won't be dissapointed. It's 29mb of pictures of ALL kinds of stuff from 5 ton trucks to jeeps to tanks... everything!
