iNeo 0 Posted June 6, 2005 June 6th - Sweden's National Day I followed a nationalistic march that went through parts of Stockholm. The head of the march. A part of the same. Another part, on a smaller street. Participants of the march are gathering in the park. Maybe 8/10 of all present. A march much like this one but much bigger and in cheerful, rather than this serious, mood is how the Norwegian National Day is celebrated. Here in Sweden it takes nationalists and national socialists. Norwegians know how to celebrate.

the_shadow 0 Posted June 6, 2005 i think it´s taken in Old town of stockholm, not far from the royal castle... isnt that right GoOB
SpongeBob 0 Posted June 6, 2005 Wow, that Sweden's National Day march sure is errr... white   Where are the proud immigrants, surely they were invited, no?  Anyway, went to a concert the other weekend, wanted to take a few pics of the band up close, so went into the mosh pit to snap a few.  I'm in the pit, jumping around while changing settings on the camera with one hand. Out of 40 pics, this is probably the best of the lot.  Hard to take pictures when you're being bumped into and while the band is head banging constantly Not sure what's the name of the band, the singer yelled it in his cookie monster voice. GoOB 0 Posted June 6, 2005 Fairly close to the royal castle in Stockholm, indeed. But on the other side of the bridge Skeppsbron, in the section of the city called Södermalm. The church is called Katarina kyrka, and it's really a beautiful sight during these summer mornings. Alot of quite famous people are buried in the churchyard too, like the murdered foreign minister Anna Lind and Cornelis Vrewswijk, a famous Swedish troubadour. A march which I prefered to the "nationalistic" one, which was held to fight "nationalism" in all it's forms. Each to his or her own I suppose (Note: These were taken by my mate in '04, my ability to take photograps was somewhat limited today, since I was lugging a megaphone about [also note, that there were about 2500 people in this march this year])
SpongeBob 0 Posted June 6, 2005 i find it cute that they're respecting the bike path it the last pic. Around here, protesters like that would take over the whole street.

We all had a good day, in our own ways. At least I hope you did, was everything calm in your march? Fork122 0 Posted June 7, 2005 These are some pictures from the United States Army National Guard base in my town.  They have some HMMWVs, HEMMTs, HETSs, and a few 5T trucks. They also have a few of the M113s that are modified.  I'm not sure what they're called but they're the M113 Ambulances in OFP. I just thought I'd share some pictures of a few of the vehicles there. WargamingNor 0 Posted June 7, 2005 @ shinRaiden; Another camera worth looking at, is the Kodak EasyShare Z740. 5 megapixels and 10x zoom (optical) - still small and easy to use. Most tests I've read about it is positive. I'm actually going to buy this camera myself now, as a second camera - mostly because of the zoom. I tried to take pictures of a moose the other day, and 3x zoom didn't cut it  5MP is also ok. It's cheap here in norway (3000 norwegian kroner = roughly $468), uses SD cards and can use rechargable AA batteries. Just another tip for a SD camera

I'm thinking of now getting that as a second better camera, or trading in my 4 month old camera and moving up to the Z740.
iNeo 0 Posted June 7, 2005 Nice pics BTW iNeo and Go0B Thanks What a bunch of idiots. Including the ones supporting them by participating in the march and distributing the pics on an internet forum like this. [blah blah angry about iNeo's and GoOB's pictures] Balschoiw & GranQ - What's the big deal with the pictures, it's extremists (which btw GranQ is pretty obvious and we both pointed it out) of both sides - so what? What's wrong with showing pictures of that?
Airbourne Alchaholic 0 Posted June 7, 2005 I can't be arsed writing the name of where I live, so here's a picture: This pic was taken in Snowdonia around Cwm Idwal: Nothing really militaristic, but I think it would be cool to see the landscape in one of the OFPs
