US Helicopters (HAFM OVerhaul) MOD

Hi,

I know a lot of people wanted to continue the legacy of Aplion, and I decided to take a chance at doing so.

I stayed away from the BIS forums thread because I wanted to do my own adaptation.

Lots of changes were made, especially the flight model and weapons.

Features:

- NEWHMDs for blackhawks, Chinook, Venom, Viper and Apache

- New flight model for every chopper (with Arma 3 physx).

- Added Laser Designator for Apache and Viper.

- Hellfires come in 3 variants:

1- AGM-114L Longbow Hellfire Anti-Tank (Radar guided, well, more like IR guided) Fire and Forget.

2- AGM-114K Anti-Tank Warhead (Laser Guided).

3- AGM-114N Thermobaric Warhead (Laser Guided).

- Hellfire Launch modes (LOBL, LOAL-dir, LOAL-LO, LOAL-HI). Courtesy of Shadow.

- Rockets now have 3 settings that can be swapped like any weapon with the "change weapon" key.

The three settings are:

1- Single

2- Pairs

3- Ripple 4

You need one click for every shot, that is, keeping the fire button pressed won't fire full-auto.

- M197 Gun (Viper) and M230 Gun (Apache) now have a bigger dispersion and can be zeroed by locking it to the laser (and manually zeroed too)

- M230 Chaingun has 2 burst settings: 10 rounds and 20 rounds.

- Replaced the gunner optics in the Apache, Viper and Venom.

- Turrets now slave to the ground once you stop moving the mouse. Explanation: there are six levels of zoom, the first one does not have ground stabilization, this means you need to have the turret set to this level to be able to move the gun with your view when you are not "heads down". All the remainind levels of zoom are ground stabilized.

- Replaced the broken sounds on the weapons to Vanilla Rockets/Missiles/Cannons

- With the integration of physx you can finally autorotate if shot down. Previously you the rotors freezed and you became a ballistic stone.

- Added a more items and gear on the inventory of the helos.

- Other stuff i can't remember.

- Removed vanilla weapon crosshairs (all weapons have their new representation in the HMDs).

- Added optional UI pbo (for sissies that want the vanilla HUD).

- Sidewinders no longer lock onto ground targets.

Issues present:

- Still can't get the Chinook, Blackhawks and Huey to have a working copilot seat (maybe someone can share some insight).

-The HMD's altitude AGL indciation displays +2 meters than it should, Nothing i can do about it, even Vanilla Helos have that issue.

There was a problem saving as .zip, so I saved it onto my Dropbox. Don't know what is wrong with the .zip save.

EDIT: do you know if it is possible to have a top-down attack for the hellfires?

about the missile trajectories, it's gonna be implemented in the RWCO mod later on.

Thank you for your great addons. Question: Is it possible to add an action menu item to tell the AI pilot to hover. in order to engage from safe distance? AI pilots in Arma are suicidal.

Thank you for your great addons. Question: Is it possible to add an action menu item to tell the AI pilot to hover. in order to engage from safe distance? AI pilots in Arma are suicidal.

Well, it's possible to work out a solution. It will need some sqf files or:

put this in the init field of the chopper: this move getPosASL this; this flyInHeight 1000;

where the 1000 is the height in meters and change the value to what you'd like.

I've one suggestion, would you mind darken the Blackhawk texture so it become indeed a blackhawk, not a "greyhawk"

The A3 new lightning engine makes the A2 texture colors way lighter.

You were one step ahead of me!

However, you missed something.

Look at this error:

This is caused by the class default.

Remove it from your config.cpp and you'll get rid of this error.

And...why is there a parachute in a heli? ;)

There are more errors.

The 14rnd FFAR gives you an error. In line 16560. Put this in as classname: 'class 14Rnd_FFAR: VehicleMagazine'

And you miss some ';' through the whole config file. Giving quiet some errors.

The HAFM config had a typo in CFGPATCHES has "CH47F" instead of the "CH_47F" (Correct classname)

Hey man great mod you got going here, I'm glad to see somebody Is continuing Aplion's work, But like before on his original release I mentioned the UH-1y Having little to no visual glass, I was wondering If you could possibly make It more noticeable? It's a very akward visual flaw for my group and myself, If you compare It's glass to that of the Viper or any other helicopter In this pack you will notice the UH-1y doesn't appear to have any (You can just barely see It If you look at It close) and also I believe the shaded green color glass on the top of the cockpit Is missing or very Invisible, If you could check Into fixing this sometime that would be great as your already doing a super great job with everything else, I'm very glad to be able to fly these helicopters without them feeling like bricks, Thanks for the release! Keep up the excellent work!

Not sure if you are trolling. This addon is for the AH-64D, AH-1Z, UH-1Y, UH-1H, UH-60M and CH-47 only. I'm not gonna be porting anything else. And the Blastcore is a separete thing, it replaces the effects by it's own, not by the source addons.

hi there!

first i want to thank you for continuing aplions great helicoptermod!

though i have a two suggestions you could possibly spend a few thoughts on:

- i would love to change the typ of hellfires to better meet the requirements of the mission at hand

- if you got the modelling skills it would be totally awesome to change the ffar rocketpods with additional hellfire carrier or vice versa
