Eric, I think I may have misled you before when I said about the stock on the Thompson needed to be longer.

When I wrote that, I was referring to the model of the tactical model you posted. Please correct me if I am wrong but it appears to have a sliding stock that is in the closed position. I was meaning adding the scar stock to that model and not making a stock that was longer than the standard issue length stock originally fitted to the weapon.

Your pack is starting to turn to a pretty eclectic mix bro. Awesome to see all the odds and ends in the game, makes for some fun shooting.

Thanks! Doing custom stuff helps in other ways such as more experience as well as also variety.

Managed to texture the un-textured parts. Looks okay so far but doesn't need anything special.

Thanks! As such the weapon will use the HK416 mags for proper "tuning". The official page mentions the ability to change the barrels but I'm not getting into that kind of cray cray attitude (crazy) with the barrels, teh thing is slick enough with the short barrel.

Thanks for the clarification Eric. Was trying to picture it in my head. I can see what you meant now. Looking forward to do soming CQB runs with it.

Well if you go a page back I linked the download as is so at the very least you can give it a shot (no... well kinda intended :) ), but I'm seeing an issue with the .45 though. It's just scope related but if you have a scope zeroed for 100m then it hits right on the dot, but if you have a scope set for 300m the bullet "climbs" to match the zero, so close shots below that (which really you'll get from the .45 out of a Tommy Gun) tend to require you to lower your aimpoint in the chest (for headshots) to get them in the head. So if you do use the weapon keep that in mind.

Thanks Eric. Real life in the road at the moment. When I get some spare time will certainly give it a run. Thanks for the info on the zeroing.

I realise now what was throwing my thoughts out. I didn't take into account the length of the receiver behind the pistol grip. Everything you said about the anims makes sense now.

Thanks again for your efforts. Very much appreciated.

No worries man, I know what its like to have real life take the place (as it always should) so no sweat man, do what you gotta do and I'll probably get to the rail piece after I get this uploaded

And thanks Sonsalt6!

Managed to make a Thompson Tactical with a rail piece in front of the rear sight:

wip594.jpg

And that'll pretty much be it. Like the M32 I really don't have much desire to spend the rest of my life doing Tommy Guns and the like, I only honored the request because it was practically done and it'll have the two versions already plus this one. I got so much other stuff to do and as said, don't want to make it another pack nor really care to merge it with my existing pack, at least for now. I spent most of the day futzing with the DCS: A-10C and quite honestly right now still prefer the A, even though the C is better in most respects, so yeah that's just a personal issue to work out with myself. But yeah I'll probably do that other SCAR/EGLM combo and upload the next version, etc.

Thanks for your efforts Eric. I really do appreciate the time and effort you have put into the weapons I have suggested in the past. What can we create next? Perhaps a tactical sten? Lol! Keep up the great work please.

Lol I'm sure that A3L will come up with a reason to implement it, when they resolve their legal issues I guess.

Anyway I'm not opening up the Pandora's box on "Tacticool" old-style guns. Mess around here and I'll be asked to sharks with lazer eyes and shit... :D

Okay back on track, been learning the A-10C in DCS so I finally figgered how to shoot Mavs with TGP, which is pretty damn cool, as I wish A3 had that ability (well it does, but the game engine is so well... whatever) but tomorrow on the To Do List:

- remap the back area of the SCAR-P (which is the designation I'm led to believe of the PDW).

- Get that SCAR/EGLM version done

- AA-12 is pretty much done, and will work outside of that on the Tommy Tactical Gun and get that out as well as a fixed PDF done as well, just have to do inventory images.

Once I get those three things done (not the Tommy Tactical Gun) I'll release RC49, looking a bit around by the latest Wednesday or so for that version, as well as the fixes I found as well when looking at some stuff.

G'day Eric. Had somevtime to spare tonight and had a play with your Thompson. Absolutely loved it. Thanks for doing it. While mowing down the virtual soldiers in the arsenal I came up with an idea.

Would it be possible to config a version of it as a sidearm? I also thought you could do the same with the SCAR-P. That way you could carry say M107 or XM109 as your primary for long range work and the SCAR-P or the Tactical Thompson for close range encounters.

Toadie2k configged one of his MP5K's the same way. What do you think?

If you look at history with the use of the Thompson and the amount of recoil and configuration that it'd be not realistic to make them "pistols". The MP5K is a 9mm subgun and therefore you can get away with it, but I don't see anybody rocking the weapon on full auto and expecting them to hit anything. Nor is it realistic as far as I know the Thompson was never converted to a pistol configuration, as well as the SCAR-P. Granted with modification you can make them more compact but overall they're still shoulder weapons, and not pistols.

Can they be configed as a pistol and still use the shoulder mounted animations or are they restricted to the pistol animations?

No they cannot. It's either Rifle, or Pistol.

Okay I'm trying to find that request for a SCAR-H STD and EGLM correct?

Thanks for the clarification on the configuration of rifle vs pistol. I didn't know it could only be one or the other. I'm not sure who requested the SCAR-H Standard/EGLM. The last item I asked you about was the Lee Enfield.

---------- Post added at 18:05 ---------- Previous post was at 18:02 ----------

Page 189 had a request for a Stoner 63 with drum mag.

Yeah I found that but somehow that EGLM/SCAR request disappeared or maybe the original poster edited it, now that things are calming down I can get it in before tomorrow as I just need to figure out which one it is.

Good luck with that. On a different note, you mentioned earlier about doing different things to learn other skills. Have you considered making equipment that you used when you served as a JFO. I don't know a lot about the job, but I would believe you would have needed specialist equipment to complete the job. I don't know if any of it would already exist in the armaverse already, but it would be interesting to see in game.
