Dwarden 1125 Posted April 24, 2016 For a Linux server it'd be "app_update 233780 -beta profiling -validate" right? you can try but I'm not sure if it would work , last year it was broken due to some linking error (so only content of profiling branch for windows platform was downloadable via steamCMD)

lex__1 422 Posted April 25, 2016 Yesterday I used arma3client_performance_158_135689_v1. TBB4 switched off. But through time I received FPS 3-4. When FPS fell to "0", arma3 stopped a mistake. Report of a mistake. https://www.dropbox.com/s/d4s4kov6ux5ampx/ArmaReport_Log_20160424T162139_Lex.zip?dl=
Chris K 0 Posted April 25, 2016 his is happening to me as well. Someone with even a temporary fix please contact me. When I use any malloc option besides malloc=system my game crashes after a couple minutes with an error stating: Status_Access_Violation. So if I use the TBB4 malloc option my game crashes before the texture issue even has a chance to happen. I haven't been able to play Arma since the new update. Please help! HeroesandvillainsOS 1504 Posted April 26, 2016 Pretty sure only -malloc=system is back in, which is great because I had really good luck with that before.

HeroesandvillainsOS 1504 Posted April 26, 2016 Could someone please let me know what to do with the new files. Tried searching but nothing came up Download the performance for client (and server if you play MP or online) and rename them arma3.exe for the client and arma3server.exe for the server one. Replace them with the old ones in your root folder. Though good practice is to not delete the old ones. Just rename them to something like arma3original.exe or whatever. Just incase you want to go back you have them.
benitoll 16 Posted April 27, 2016 no linux update ? It's in the Google Drive link. Looks like Dwarden decided to split Windows (classic Dropbox) and Linux (Drive) binaries. Download the performance for client (and server if you play MP or online) and rename them arma3.exe for the client and arma3server.exe for the server one. Replace them with the old ones in your root folder. Though good practice is to not delete the old ones. Just rename them to something like arma3original.exe or whatever. Just incase you want to go back you have them. The server one is only for hosting a dedicated server xD, not even a listen server (starting a server from inside the game in the "Multiplayer" tab), and not at all for "playing MP" (why'd you think that?), for those things the client is enough. The "good practice" is OK, I do it myself out of my obsessive-compulsive disorder xD but if you delete them you can just "Verify local cache" from Steam UI and get the original official binaries back (and the IIRC ~171MB unnecesary "_CommonRedist" folder).
devilspawn 24 Posted April 27, 2016 Are we going to see this addressed through steam client? like a official hotfix? 1.58.135712 profiling & performance v2 server and client, windows/linux* fixed system allocator related crashes / issues* fixed Difficulty tab no longer disabled after first mission on dedicated serverhttps://www.dropbox.com/sh/582opsto4mmr8d8/3BSy9PdRGmhttps://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B03-H4YIbhkFMUt5RzNqZjFlNGs

Vasily.B 529 Posted April 27, 2016 So in short - on which mem allocator i should get best performance? Which one were changed in RC? I have Win 7 64Bits, rest of specs in my signature.

benitoll 16 Posted April 28, 2016 I'm experiencing artifacts with certain LoD levels of polygons and textures. Depending on FoV zoom level and angle, many objects (buildings, vehicles, map props...) turn black, back normal, black again, etc and they can be seen through water. Plus a similar/the same thing is affecting at least terrain polygons, experiencing the terrain "swallowing" vehicle and infantry units while from certain angles and distances, the undesirable effect being extrapolable to clipping artifacts that happen when overflying cliffs'/mountains with Low terrain detail setting. I experienced it from a 2000m high, 1500m loiter radius UAV, with a couple of vehicles and a lot of soldiers most of the time becoming invisible from above (FLIR and al kind of imaging included of course).I will post pictures of the issues (if aren't solved for tonight/discard as totally unrelated to these binaries) and give more details tonight. I can't fully confirm until late tonight if this issue is really due to perf binary (I think so and that's why I have posted this).

Dwarden 1125 Posted April 28, 2016 PERFORMANCE is for normal use PROFILING has debug diagnostic layer (slower) and it's only for those who do something I asked them for or those who know what to use debugging for ...
Beagle 684 Posted April 28, 2016 Im using version 3 client and it looked good for the first 90 minutes, game ran definately better in the first place, but after roughtly 90 minutes its down to 10 fps again even when there is nothing going on around me. Does it matter if the server uses hotfix or binaries? Mission is Jammy Warfare BECTI on JMW server. Other players in the mission reportet the same and after 90minutes the usuel " have to restart arma" came up again. Thats a problem because in thosse long term missions ypi loose of lot of time invested (AI units, gear, vehicles, position progress) when you have to restart.
