VeteranMod team presents to your attention public demo-version of our global modification for ArmA 2.

This version is designed primarily to demonstrate new and reviewed features of the game, as well as the general direction of our work.

In the demo version includes:

• system for equiping units, which includes body armor, universal transport

vests, helmets, hats and much more

• extended injuries system and first aid

• island Beketov, an area of 400 km²

• Some SP-missions.

• infantry units for the BLUE4 and RED4 - U.S. Marine Corps and Russian

Army Motorized Infantry (RF MI), appropriate firearms both sides

• RF MI Reconnaissance units

• Irregular units, militias

• varied firearms

• reworked sounds for small arms

• the opportunity to interact with other players in MP

• interact inside cargo aircraft

• advanced simulation of fragments for hand grenades, RPGs and HE

rounds

• backblast simulation for RPGs, MANPADS and handheld ATGMs

• resting of weapons with bipods

• enhanced sights

• modified FOV and as a consequence modified maginification

• a new types of weapon crates

• new animations

• reworked visual FX

The distribution terms

The presented version is not a finished product do not reflects the overall

condition of the product at the time of publication.

This demo version with limited content, contains problems and bugs.

The demo version is distributed on an "as is".

By accepting these terms and installing a demo version on your PC,

End User agrees that the authors of VeteranMod do not

accept any liability for unstable performance of ArmA 2.

In the mod we use 3D-models, textures, scripts and

configs of a number of authors listed below. Any changes

modification without informing authors of mod are not allowed. Any

porting the contents or part of mod e.g. models, textures, and

scripts in the other modes of ArmA 2 and / or other games are not allowed.

Please respect the work of the authors.

Installation

VeteranMod Demo works with version 1.62 ArmA 2: Combined Operations

(ArmA 2 + ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead). Mod requires CBA: Community

Base Addons, which you can download and install from this link.

Important: install all three CBA modules: @CBA, @CBA_A2 and

@CBA_OA.

It is highly not recommended to use the beta-version of ArmA 2 with

VeteranMod!

Most likely this is the first and last release for A2. Expect the next one to be released for A3.

The atmosphere on the map is fantastic.

Edit: I have a slim and tall vertical shadow in the center of Beketov.

We are looking for partner server, who help us throw a VTN-COOP-Party this weekend in the international community :)

Will play DAP's "Insurgency in Beketov", i think. With 20-30 slots. Will attend one of the authors, who will help to explain mod basics and answer some questions.

If your server is ready to participate - contact me via PM.

I have a slim and tall vertical shadow in the center of Beketov.

Never noticed this problem, will check it out. I think, this is some kind of graphic card glitch because of lot of objects. It appears in the city, or in the smaller villages too? Are you using the "VTN True color" module? Can you make a screen?

Just curious tho, what does this mod aim to achieve? What is its main objective?

Is it an entire module overhauling the whole game like ACE or just a mod adding new features to the game?

Are we able to use this alongside other modules like AAW and FDF?

Certainly cant wait till my download finishes, thanks very much for the release guys.

Mission of this mod - is a believeable representation of the modern combined arms battle in the ArmA 3.

Is it an entire module overhauling the whole game like ACE

Our main difference from the other mods - is our orientation on the large-scale battles, not only Coops on the BLU4 side.

And as said above - VTN will overhaul the whole setting in the ArmA 3 to the modern one.

Are we able to use this alongside other modules like AAW and FDF?

VTN equipment system (i.e. dressing up and vest capacity :o) is not compatible with vanilla inventory. And, obviously, firearms will not be balanced.

Ot the other hand, of course, if you want to have a war between Finns and Chinese in the central-Russian island - you can do this, we can't stop the user's imagination :D

Very interesting mod. Saw a video of the healing system from a year ago and I rather like the direction taken, will definately have to give it a go.

Thanks for this mod.

I have had a good look around the terrain, its really great, performs well too, apart from one type of grass/corn/wheat (not sure) that seems to pull down performance a little, but no big deal.

There is a radar tower that seems too large (out of scale), can't remember where, will look again.

Anyway thanks very much for sharing this.:)

Version updated! Actual link is in the 1st post.

- Added bisigns to all Beketov pbos.

- Fixed MG belts on the BLU4 weapons.

- Some fixes in the medicine system.

- Some fixes in the "climb over" animation.

There is a radar tower that seems too large (out of scale)

Yes, the TV-tower is nearly 200% of size :)) This is a compromise to represent size of the typical provincial TV-tower.

In the full version for ArmA 3 we will replace this one with some sort of new greek towers.

[[EDIT]]: Just going to be honest here, i'm not really liking this demo/mod the way it is right now. All of the default soldiers on both sides (Except for the US army and CDF and maybe the independents)are really glitchy and jumbled, they look like you combined all the units's textures and uniforms and gear and mixed them all together.

The "Ch-46" and" CH-53 aren't at all, they're the UH-60 seahawk and CH-47 Chinnok.

The animations were the #1 Killer for me. The jogging animations were fine in ArmA 2, why change them? Now i feel like i'm playing ArmA I or default OFP again and those animations were bad...

I know this is just a demo i just need to state my opinions on this mod right now.

You can try but equipment system won't work.

Did anyone encountered orange-faced soldiers? We receive reports about this glitch which we never saw before and we can't reproduce it.

sound like that old bug when ATi cards showed weird overly bright faces of people who had used the wrong texture format for their custom face.

Can we see a screenshot?

We replaced only USMC and RF MI with proper ones and added some units on independent side.

My guess you are using wrong version of arma (beta) or wrong version of CBA or both as you can see on screenshots above there is no problems with textures or gear.

Because we use them as placeholders - Sea Knight and Sea Stallion are not ready

I am impressed with this mod. This needs to be in ARMA 3, because maybe then it will be returned to some of the original grounding and feel that the OFP/ARMA series has always had which is lacking in the new game, plus a good slogging match with the Russians and the Americans. I can see this mod as being the first successful one to introduce such a scenario into the new engine.
