n71fs 10 Posted October 5, 2013 Well, 2nd Canadian Forces Flying Training School does.http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3e/BAeCT155Hawk155217.JPG But maybe a real sharp and clean model of the CF-18 would be better. Hmm didn't realize Canada had any, agreed about the CF-18 , plus using the hawk as a light attack would be a big stretch. dr@gon 118 Posted October 6, 2013 I can't say enough about this Mod, it is excellent! I look forward to more installments. I like that content is released as it is made and tested rather then having to wait several months. This is particularly appreciated since I know everyone has busy lives and modding and game playing is a hobby for all of us. As recently noted by someone the GL is still out a bit. Long distance shots are particularly difficult after 200 meters (more then it normally would be I think compared to the in game M203). The silenced C8 really has no lethality requiring 4 shots minimum to put anyone down and 5-6 is common when shooting beyond 75 meters. I never fired a silenced weapon in the real world so is that normal? I appreciate that silenced weapons loose some of their "punch" and perhaps the problem is I should be engaging at closer range when using the silencer. I thought I'd mention it since I wasn't sure if it was a bug or by design. I thought I'd mention that I do miss the LAW (C72), its great for taking out SUV's, trucks and small bunkers. ...just in case if you were wondering if anyone in the community is wanting them back :). Keep up the good work.

Keep up the good work. Thanks, we try to keep things pushed as much as possible. As for the 203 I am currently trouble shooting and adjusting as required, I know in my experience shooting 203 bombs is a hit and miss that you get the feel for anyhow. I don't use it much in A3 so I will do some testing and trouble shooting. Silencers, I think its a A3 thing but will check the configs. M72A6 is a headache, but it is being looked at in detail and is something at the top of my pile to return as soon as i can.

When firing regular ammo, the effects are largely comparable to a muzzle brake/flash hider/longer barrel - more weight, greater length and vastly reduced recoil, muzzle flash and muzzle blast. Velocity change is usually negligible, point of impact changes due to higher "level" effects (barrel vibration frequency etc). SD 5.56 ammo does loose a fair bit of punch but should be good for hitting targets out to 200 m, keep in mind the REDFOR in game have sort of full body armour and due to the ability of A3 soldiers to digest a few rounds by default (wounding), it's not the best option... Oh, yeah, and M72s rock! :D
ohally 26 Posted October 8, 2013 Good news and bad, I have isolated the issue with the M72A6.. A3 since release has not responded to "addmagazine" with launcher ammunition. I'm working on a couple possible workarounds for it. however the next release will include rockets in the ammo crate so it can still be used, and it will still "throw" after 1 shot. you will just have to manually grab the rocket for it. BadKarma031 10 Posted October 8, 2013 (edited) For now, as most soldiers buy their own anyways, we are just leaving the vest situation alone. We have however re-textured the plate carrier in TW and AR for those that want Camouflaged Vests. I was unaware that soldiers bought their own vests, interesting. From recent photographs I've seen they all seem to be sporting the same styled vest, must be the tac vest you were referring to. On deployments, it is common for soldiers to purchase their own rig to replace the tac vest - this is of course if the chain of command allows it. Within Canada generally, it is tac vest only how ever some units are ok with members wearing a purchased chest rig or webbing. There is also the SORD and Tactical Tailor rigs that have been issued in the last few years. As for the C6 with rails, seems kinda null and void, a machine gun is an area weapon system not a sniper rifle. The C9 is good with optics as it's max effective range is 600m but the C6 commonly engages at 800m plus, even if you did have a scope, you wouldn't see 60-80% of your beaten zone through it. If you have DWAN access, search for the small arms update - I used the search term "C7A3" and found it that way, shows all the planned/proposed upgrades. There is an accessory rail system and some other things planned for the C6. Both the carry handle and elcan are rail sights. The C7, C8, C9 are all issued standard with a C79A2 ELCAN. Carry Handles are not issued by the CF but I put on in as most of the guys I know have purchased one. The C8A3s are issued with a EoTech as well. The C7/C8 also comes with a small back up iron sight. Huh. Didn't know the CF issued EoTechs Units have purchased them and issued them out for deployments. It is not something we officially issue however. The EoTech is an officially issued sight, and they come with all C8A3s(some units also have C79A2s for them as well); individual units are not purchasing their own EoTechs for use overseas as they are a CAF issue item. Some extra EoTechs are also used on C9s, etc. The EoTech 512 is the model issued for conventional forces, and CANSOFCOM uses the 553, and another model(as seen in publicly released photos and video). http://static.dvidshub.net/media/thumbs/photos/1207/633152/1000w_q75.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/53weo2.jpg http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2012/35/1346088410-cc2012-0820-006.jpg http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o47/Hatakestrife/CSOR212.jpg http://www.abload.de/img/csor1m4s4a.jpg https://scontent-a-lga.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/q75/s720x720/1235989_10153187842920007_158606093_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/q88/s720x720/1185807_10153187842915007_1431620929_n.jpg OP, Just so you know, the new "brown" boots are on recall, the CF is NOT implementing them EVER. The standard is Desert boots for arid/desert regions, or black for temperate. The brown ones fall apart, and they were on a trial basis, and never issued to any soldiers other than a handful on a trial basis.. The brown boots we originally got were garbage(and were past the trial stage I believe) and did fall apart(not all fell apart after a short period, but a majority did). Brown boots are still being issued out though. Another tender was put out for companies to submit brown/tan boots, and 2 pairs of Kodiak boots and L.P. Royer pair are moving onto user trials. As well, the black boots are in limited supply so if black boots are not available in your size, you are getting the brown boots or desert boots(if available). https://buyandsell.gc.ca/procurement-data/award-notice/PW-PR-751-62564 https://buyandsell.gc.ca/procurement-data/award-notice/PW-PR-751-62564-1 https://buyandsell.gc.ca/procurement-data/award-notice/PW-PR-751-62564-0 For more info and photos on the brown boots first issued out, and the new round of trial boots check click on the below link http://forums.army.ca/forums/index.php/topic,450.msg1262646.html#new 4) does the Canadian Armed Forces use a half head helmet at all? If so any CADPAT variants planned? (not interested in fictional kit only if it is used). Yes, the Canadian Forces does have some. They are crewman helmets(armour vehicle crews), but, Snipers are using them as well. For SOF, in photos and the CANSOF video you can see Ops Core helmets, and others in use. http://www.abload.de/img/csor1m4s4a.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/13884_500522460039737_129470204_n.jpg http://img547.imageshack.us/img547/811/9j9v.jpg The CAF mod looks great, good job guys. theebu 31 Posted October 20, 2013 Arctic-anything isn't at the top of my priority list right now. Not really anywhere near it to be honest. If there's enough demand it may be possible in the future. For now, getting the mod to where we want it is our main focus. I found a couple of bugs for you guys:C7/C8 Handle, eye is way to close to the ring. (PM me for possible fix) Carl Gustav 3x scope adjustment dosnt work. Otherwise pretty mod, i specialy like the sounds of the weapons :coop: The Carl sight is a known bug on our list of fixes. Will look into the eye distance.

ohally 26 Posted October 22, 2013 What exactly are you guys aiming to add in the next update? When can we expect this update? Right now our focus has turned to expanding our CANSOFCOM element. The reason for this is that vehicles such as the LAV and Bison are taking quite a bit of time and there are limited O2 experts working on the conversions. Expect to see the following: -Config tweaks for JTF2 units (pistols and the like + possible integration of hidden identities pack *awaiting permissions*) -Initial release of CSOR styled units -Ground work for CJIRU units and 427 Squadron -Possible addition of a rail system to the C6 GPMG to bring it more into the "modern/future" uses (limited optic compatibility) -Additional variants of C8 weapons, RIS, foregrips, camo schemes (woodland, arid, arctic) -Fix attempts (again) on sight alignment -New textures for a number of different carriers and kit items -Showcase mission(s) for JTF2 units When is hard to say as the team is working at different paces and I just returned from a 3 week task in Cyprus with the Army. We try not to strive for solid updates with lots of additional content, this next one should not disappoint. Best guess 1 week from today or soon after the next BIS update on Oct 31st. Hope that helps. ---------- Post added at 14:57 ---------- Previous post was at 14:55 ---------- In other news (but not unrelated) we are currently looking to expand our dev team. We would like to bring in a solid mission maker and some good scripters. If you are interested send me an example of your work via PM and I will get back to you ASAP. Team members get access to our "DEV Build" of CAF. Cheers.
