WARNING!! The pack has been completely re-written, delete all previous CAF content before installing!!

FEATURES:

  • New Temperate and Arid Uniforms *note short sleeves disabled for now as there is a clipping issue with the model, BIS can only fix
  • Added Sniper, Spotter, Crewman classes
  • Added C8A3 CQB variant
  • All classnames have been changed to prevent future conflicts with other mods as well as make more sense
  • Tweaked mass of certain equipment items
  • Pre-built groups ARID and TEMPERATE infantry
  • Tweaked eye position for ELCAN battle sights
  • and more..

Due to script errors surrounding the M72A6 it has been removed for the time being. It is a top priority to fix and return to game.

Wow its been a good week so far, Arma 3 release and the next day the new version of Canadian Armed Forces Mod, its like Christmas.

I'm glad I did take the day off work today :).

There's a few things that don't really work at the moment (C8A3 CQB does not mount optics well, Elcan 3D existing but not really), and the weapons aren't compatible with the new optics, but otherwise I would say: good work. This is pretty amazing.

3D ELCAN is one of those "hidden" features as its a work in progress. If you dig up something that is not complete, don't bring it up as a bug please. I totally forgot to add the new optics to the compat list, will do this weekend and push a new update soonest.

Kudos Ohally and Team for this fantastic release. I had high expectations and you guys delivered!

The uniforms blend excellently into the environment. The previous release, as you know, was a bit bright, but this version is perfect. The fatigues are a little dirty and worn they look great. I appreciate you bundling backpacks with the release although not CADPAT I assume that was simply due to time. I like the scrim and netting on the helmets also.

The weapons are greatly improved also, I haven't played enough to definitively say the 5.56 is better against body armour but they "seem" more effective to me. The big point for me however is that aiming has improved, the tweaks to the Elcan scope and the GL make a huge difference in accuracy for me.

The flags are great. I noticed however that four of the Flags (Army, Navy, Air force, Canada) don't have names in the editor, a round icon appears but the description field is empty. They appear in game just fine when chosen but its trial and error to see which flag you chose. (I think its the actual Classname appearing in the very top right of the editor screen when a flag is highlighted).

Best part guys, it was released in conjunction with Arma 3, very cool! I look forward to additional content in the future but for now I have several hours of game time with your mod.

The problem is you're wearing the wrong uniform, the CG flies straight when you are wearing CADPAT. (just kidding of course)

I´ve noticed (as I´ve spawned it through MCC box creator) that there´s a 3D Elcan but when I attach it to the C8, ti doesn´t go on aiming mode, it seems quite functional, except for this.. any problem with the config, so you didn´t made it official in this update?

Apparently the units with ghillie suits are missing this:

Arid:

Cannot load texture caf_core\equipment\army\data\tex\cadpat_ar_full_co.paa

Temperate:

Cannot load texture caf_core\equipment\army\data\tex\cadpat_tw_full_co.paa

One of the Arid units (Assist C6 Gunner) has the following error:

no entry 'config.bin/CfgWeapons.CAF_AR_Uniform_CADPAT_roll'

So it seems, that we are missing textures and one entry.

I'm sure it's an easy fix.

Will we see a hotfix for this soon?

I like CAF units pattern, but IMHO, all the small arms and optics needs a revamp on texture, their quality still stay at ARMA2 level.

I'll be putting out an update some time today to include:

*Missing Texture Fixes to the Ghillie Suits and Arid assistant C6 Gunner.

*Adding Repair Variant of the HLVW

*Adding Pre-Packed 72 Hour Ruck for Rifle Section Members

*Adding re-config of Marshal Cargo as Place Holder until LAV III is done

*Adding JTF2 units kitted closely to this video:

(Will Only be adding a 5 man team for the time being, Plan to add Dive Teams and HALO Jumpers in near future)

*Proper Hiding of 3D Elcan while under production

*Added new texture to the Medical Bag (Red Cross)

*Sight position adjustments on all weapons to fix compatibility with A3 Optics

*Adding compatibility with all A3 optics from full release

Updated List Strike = Done, when all are done I will upload for release.

*other minor config tweaks and fixes

Here's a first look at the JTF2 Units. We are going to be releasing this 5 man assault team first. More Variants coming in the near future.
