The AIM-9 L/M series is listed as common armament part of the F-14 Tomcat. The L and M version are quite similar from the outside, imprevements are found "under the hood".

Since the AIM-9L entered Service just 3 years after the Tomcat entered Service, i guess it is most logical to have L/M Sidewinders on the F-14.

True ill look in to it mate........Anyways here's a long awaited update. I've been really lazy of late and put everything off but i was doing bits in pieces when i could. Hope you guys will forgive me....I created a new Desert Campaign texture. It resembles more what a few tomcats might have looked like near the end of their service and fight in the Iraq war and what not. This texture has the emblem from the V1.0 release on the rudders, and carries no VF number, as it is neutral in itself and is supposed to represent US tomcats as a whole. I also got a few instruments working in the C pit which was a huge accomplishment i ran around and danced for a bit.... Also Evil_Brownie let me use a few textures he created himself, VF-31 Tomcatters, and the Christmas Version of the Checkmates. Here are the pics, sorry for the low quality forgot to turn it up!

Yeah, I totaly have to agree with Gnat!

I just so love all these colourfull paintings that the US Navy used to have and they looked espescially nice on the Tomcat. Keep up your excellent work VectorX96!

Hey thanks FLv*VeNoM*, also im not going to do the older version of the AIM-9. I remembered this is a F-14D we're talking about which is the latest version which did at one point use the AIM-9X. This isnt a F-14A which would probably require such an old version but either way a missile is a missile when you come down to it. Maybe just different internal systems but would your really want to fight a Su-34 or with the oldest missile alive?

Ello, here is a small update.

-Separate vehicle classes for VF's

-Different number textures (ex. F-14 100 and F-14 102)

-More textures

-Sweep and Swept Wings are now actual user actions and not scripts, so they should show all the time.

-Afterburner now has been fixed from a gas guzzler

-Free Fall bombs Bombcat, to complement the Laser guided Bombcat

-Working Instruments.......to a certain degree

That's all i can remember that i did heres a few screens of the Sundowners low vis texture, and one screen of the redone Checkmates.

Hey guys I have a pre-release update for you. Not much to say however. But one thing you all might hate is i removed the afterburner yet again. Only due to problems with scripts and user actions. I hope to re-implement them in the next update.

v1.4 News

----------

v1.4 is scheduled for release tomorrow and with that said i hope you all enjoy it. There are a total of about 26 planes with different textures, similar classes, and different VF's posing as vehicle classes. I've added sample missions two of which require JDG_Nimitz which can be found on Armaholic. I also have added a notepad file containing all the vehicle class names for all your scripting desires. The wings now have three actions. Cargo sweep which is only available on the ground can be used in tight spaces. Then Sweep which is the standard sweep just to a different degree than previous versions and of course Swept. My clan and I are also planning on making a video for the next update showing the awesome tomcat. Here are some screens of VF-111 flying in formation to a tanker yet again as they are my new favorite now........only because of the shark teeth which was hell to put on that nose......

Looks Awesome, love the plane! Are you including a Tanker Refueling Script?

Thanks guys and @vengeance1 that's not my refueling script it's simply Ace air refueling tutorial that i modified to use my tomcats. So if you really want to do air refueling until Fient decides to release his module i guess Ace would be the best choice. Although i have heard of another guy doing a fueling module that also lets you do air refueling as well.

Congrats on the update. Had a quick look at it. The sweep options though i found weird, because the normal full sweep is now the cargo sweep (I asked myself, why?). The cargo sweep would go fully over the untextured gray-bits behind the wing roots, but i guess you'd have to extend the animation for that.

@Evil_Brownie

Thanks, and thats actually the way its supposed to be, and anyways it does change things up a little. It also gives the wings another sweep degree that they would have in real life. Yeah your right i might have to extend the anim for it i just have to see if it would look right and natural.

@Islesfan186

Ill see what i can do, i tried doing the show aircraft's tail art and had a hard time just because of the way i made the original tail. So i found so more photos and did the current tail art. VF-143 does look nice ill see if i can add it.

Yeah its a nice module I tried it with my tomcat it worked. Was nice to actually use that probe to, only problem was the probe wasn't in the drogue. I'm surprised i even got hooked cause the damn tanker kept turning left and right every 5 seconds luckily i caught him as he was making the next turn.

I cannot for the life of me get it to work with the AF module. Can you post a screenie or try to give a discription as to where the droge was when you actually successfully hooked up? I got meatballs F/A-18 to work fine.

EDIT:

Okay, it must be different from F-14 to F-14. I used the The F-14D Super Tomcat 100 in the Navys Last Fighter section and got it to hook up, but when using the VF-111 Interceptor 202, it would not hook up....weird. Dunno why it should matter?

EDIT TO THE EDIT:

Okay, did a little more testing, and it seems that it only works with ones called F-14D Super Tomcat. It worked with VF-103 F-14D Super Tomcat, and VF-11 F-14D Super Tomcat, but not with VF-11 F-14D Bomcat or interceptor

Well why it wouldn't work with my tomcats really wouldn't be my problem but i could probably consult with RAV_RAVEN to better expand the compatibility of his module with the new tomcats. Although since i dont know what the probelm is myself it just might be my addon, so i will look into it more mate thanks for your info and testing and I will look into the problem.

no problem. I posted on RAVs thread too and I think it was due to the fact that he implemented it before you released version 1.4.

BTW I sent you a PM
