I have reinstalled and done the verify files option and OA still tells me I have a bad serial #.

I am loading from both steam and the desktop icon using windows7 64bit.

Do I place the 1.60exe file INTO my main C:\A2 folder and then double click it?? Or do I run it from my desktop and extract it from there?

I've got a problem with enabling expansions via the Expansions Menu in OA. I run the Steam version, and ever since it updated to 1.60, I haven't been able to enable any custom addons via the menu.

Well, to be correct, it's not that I can't check them to enable them. The problem is that, after I check them all as enabled and click okay, and after the game restarts to enable them, none of them are enabled. So something is not saving what mods are enabled. Is it because of this new addons through registry feature?

I know that there's the shortcut target line option, but for some reason, my ArmA2 OA game crashes after a little while when running addons via the shortcut target line, so I use the ingame menu. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

hi

@Dwarden

your new patch is great, but I encounter some problem with it:

in my "campaigns" folder, i have usermade campaigns.

however, in the campaign menu (in game), each of them appears twice.

moreover, TigerForce from HEXAgon/OFrP has the same problem, and it's worse for him, cause sometimes, his game crashes, or the savegame function makes the game quit.

do you know where it can come from?

or maybe make a fix for the patch?

thanks very much

look at the build number in the low right corner of the home screen, official 1.60 should be 87580.

I have seen this glitch before. The fix for me was to move all your user-made campaigns to a temporary folder (or rename your Campaigns folder), for example, temp_Campaigns.

Restart Arma 2/OA, you should only see the BIS campaigns as normal in the Menu. Shut down Arma 2/OA. Now copy all your user campaigns back to your Campaigns folder. Restart Arma 2/OA and all should be back to normal in the Menu. Seems like there is some kind of catalog corruption which resets by clearing out/deleting the Campaigns folder. Good Luck!

Anyone got a solution to why the game doesn't enable my addons via the expansion menu?

Are you launching the game with the -mod=xyz parameter? If so, remove it.

I'll try this and tell you whether it works or not (even if I already tried something like that...maybe it will rework...)

I'll keep you in touch.

No. I am not running it that way. Running it that way (outside of Steam) is the only way it works. And I didn't have this problem before the 1.60 patch.

Here's what happens. I run the game using the normal Steam shortcut, with the addons in my Documents/ArmA2 folder. Once in-game, non of the addons are enabled. So, I check the addons to enable them. Once I click OK, I get the message to restart the game for the game to read the addons. Once I restart, none of them are enabled. As I said, didn't have this problem before 1.60

it's most likely due to the way the game handles expansions since 1.60. check your cfg file and search for your mod entries, and manually remove that particular line. save and try again

That looks similar to the bug that occurs when a swimming unit is setPos'ed out of the water onto land, but retains the swimming animation. :)

Come to think of it, I'm not even sure there is a ticket for this on the CIT. Must check...

EDIT: Ah, there we go.
