If they are trying to reach more people with ArmA3 increasing the price won't help.

For me ArmA is priceless, within reason of course.

I would pay even 30€ more, IF... and thats the point, IF the game is really finish when released this time!

In Arma2, aswell as in Arma1, it was only half-finished in my opinion. Many features were only half-hearted realized and very few are now fixed finally after another 2 years after the release - this is a no-go!

(Just ONE single example are the Gestures, which were only working in SP for ~2 years, even though advertised in all those Game-Festivals Previews as MP working!

Another one is the Grass-Layer which was advertised by the CEO Himself prior to Arma2 release as fuly working for AI and blocking realistically view on larger grass non-render distance. It was advertised to work if you lay behin larger grass-areas you wont be noticed by AI or other players... Remember what happened? Community-Issue-Tracker needed over 100 Votes to let it even work partially... Another No-Go! List goes on and on)

Also many of those half-hearted realized features could have been improved or completely replaced by community-made addonds/mods -IF they would have been made moddable in the first place (Stock weird "Stamina system" is just ONE single example). Yet they weren't. Another No-Go.

So if they want more cash and yes they would deserve it, then please finish the game, do Features completely and well, show some love for details and the players.

What were you smoking when you put the x>$60 options in the poll?

What were you smoking when you put the x>$60 options in the poll?

Just cause the options there doesnot mean I support it, (forthefivemillionthtime) I only try to make this poll as acceptable as possible to ALL people, even those with wishes bigger than mine (I thought $10-$20 was realsitic but maybe just $10 is better i'll give you that now, but it is a PERSONAL opinion we both share now, other people might not, u know.) $10 is probably the best/most realistic option that will not hurt sales in any way. (NOONE who like this game will be put off by 10 extra little dollars, they'll just wait for the eventual price drop if there so damn cheap anyway. So, I voted 20 more, therefore i am obvioulsy okay with 10 more same as the few who chose 50 more are fine with 10 more.) Other people May. Think. Different.

So enough with "50 more are u mad?" comments, when I never said I wanted that much.:)

What if they added in every single request you wanted? :p

Well, i guess the price of the game does matter for newcomers, but not really for most of the community members. What matters for me is hardware investment...

I won't pay more than $50 for any game. And I'll only pay $50 if the following is achieved:

1) Some of my most wanted improvements are implemented.

2) If the game is stable and bug free at release.

If not I'll wait a year for the patches to come out as well as a price drop.

What if they added in every single request you wanted? :p

If that was the case, with it not being buggy at release (and if my PC can run it!), then I would pay $60. But, that will be impossible. :(

i don't think, people want really overpay for military simulation, i got Arma CO for 25€ off steam, cause i can't spend a lot of money for games.

If BIS would support donations or something, all users who think, 50€ isn't enough for this game, could simply donate as much as they want.

If arma would be BF or COD, fanbois would deffinitly pay a higher prize for it, but luckely for us, arma isn't arcade shit game.

Well you better prepare for a long wait then because ArmA will never be bug free at release, that would be mission impossible with a game as HUGE as ArmA.

thats why more patient people will be more happy with what they get, then some who can't wait (higher prises + bugs) I brought Arma CO this summer first 25€ for both in stea, and started to play with 1.59 patch! And still, it isn't bug free, especially not well optimized.

I can't imagine, if i did pay the full prize at release date, with much more bugs, and low performance issues. That would drive me mad.

I wouldnt mind spending a bit more on something that has kept me more than busy in the past 10 years. However, BIS should not increase the price, since they will lose potential new customers then.

Something that just struck my mind: Why not make an optional "non-free" version of the official patches? A volontary donation to a patch with fixes you really like doesnt sound that bad? And a nice gesture to BIS to thank them for the hard work.

I dont think this would correspond with the teams philosophy. If you want to donate something, contact Dwarden and he will give you everything you need to do so.

Apart from that I totally agree that increasing the price will not be a good idea.

If youre a potential new customer and you are still torn between buying or not, money becomes an very strong argument! Being able to tell this person that the game doesnt cost too much will definitely have an positive impact on the final decision

(However you also have to considder the investements a company puts in his product and Arma 3 being the flagship of BIS is certainly in the focus of this matter. If you dont make any profit you wont be able to stay on the market, so you have to find the so called equilibrium price. It should be able to cover/exceed the investements but still keep the demand high)

45€ ;)

Maintain BIS's ARMA style and keep out of pirates can go as far as you want.

The best way to make money should be to get profit from the game engine I think. From one engine you can creat more than one game yourself and you can even sell the engine to others to earn royalty. Of course to cooperate with government or army is another good way.

DCS A-10, while not perfect, seemed to be rather bug free at release. There is no reason ArmA 3 can't.

But since it will most likely be the case, I am willing to wait until patches are released. :)

ArmA3 is a full, rich, varied and full of possibility to modify any part of the game, the game is perfect and infinite, yet think it should keep its price at around $ 50, the reason is that direct competitors Battlefield 3 or CoD MW3 will maintain these prices, other consider it a fair and affordable price for the players and the challenge is to reach more players with each release, the more players in the ArmA3 we enjoy it most.

ArmA price is not low. Just the price of 6-hours long shit like CoD and BF being high.

I'm confused as to why that many people want the game to be $100...

Wtf???

me too ^^

No matter how much you love BIS, you always have to think realistic and reasonable. If you want to best for the team, why would you advise to change the price into ridicolous amounts, while knowing almost no-one would buy their product then...
