Seems theres a nasty bug in Origin.

Lots of people reporting Origin crashing then deleting what you've downloaded so it doesn't resume.

Who's idea was it to have a Beta downloader during a major game release that can't run without it?

I'm sure the Battlelog site will take several nose dives on release also. They can barely keep their forums and Master server running as it is.

Origin is crap.

+1 x 10

I have however seen rumours about negotiations between EA and Valve about launching Battlefield 3 on Steam. Hopefully, if this is true, Origin won't be needed. But then again, you'll need Steam.

So Origin steals your browsing history and they'll know the kind of porn you are into?

Not only your Browsing History, but also your installed programms. Well basically all information they can get to sell it to other companys. Their EULA is actually pretty funny. If you accept it, you agree to not sue them because of the things origin does and EAs "we sell your info" policy. I think that half of their EULA is illegal in the EU but somehow they don´t get the needed attention from customer protection

Part in part due to the "If you don't like it don't buy it" state of mind. It's a shame because it sends a nice message to developers that if we like your stuff, regardless of what you violate we'll buy it.

If enough people protest about it then something might be done about it. Unfortunately the ignorant masses couldn't give a damn, even if the EULA said you had to donate a kidney to EA they wouldn't make a fuss.

You can buy it on Gamersgate too.

I wonder, it should be possible to just log in on the battlelog website and start the game up from there without the use of Origin?

Well that blows, yet another game to pass up no thanks to the publisher.

Arma 3 definately needs Dinosaurs. Every good game should have them!

The 2 maps i played right now were way too small for 64 players conquest, it was just a giant Clusterf*ck

you can now also find story walkthroughs on youtube. Spoiler alert ;)

Got any links to decent ones?

Youtube searches turn up more keygen scams and unrelated crap then Battlefield 3.

Lots of reviews up now.

i bought bf2. enjoyed it a lot especially when the reality mod came out. looked for more challenge and discovered OFP, then arma and then arma2.

i would buy bf3, but won't because of the Origin problems and its intrusive nature. stupid way for them to lose out on sales, but guess the potential revenue from selling details of what's on peoples computers outweighs the loss of sales. are they in the game business or data harvesting business?

It really is bullshit. They sell your information without your identity attached, but they collect enough information to easily identify you
