Tophe's Arma Dedicated Server Tool (TADST)

Love the new added features. I have used this tool ever since you rolled it out but I do have one question for you.

Can you make it so it will recognize ifa as well as pbo structures for mission files? The server tool works to start the server but will hang up waiting for host as it does not recognize the ifa mission file.

I would like to use this for Iron Front as well since I have just gotten back into the game so if it is at all possible to do it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tophe, if possible could you allow the server tool to only permit any missions that are checked to be shown in the server's missions in-game? I'd like to have specific missions on specific servers. And right now, all missions are shown on all servers.

Hey Tophe/Everyone;

First of all, Tophe - Thank you so much for all your work - this is an amazing tool.

Additionally, i think i might've found a bug that i am not sure how to deal with: I cant select any difficulty other than Regular (it selects - but after saving or launching, it resets back to regular).

I tried the solution posted from earlier versions (Re-creating the .profile) - but it seems to not matter, and the .profile is re-created as it was on the initial run.

Might anyone have seen this? I've run into it on 3 servers now - And i cant find a solution that works.

Is anyone else having difficulty getting missions to load after the recent update? I'm stalling on Reading from bank then I get kicked.

You probably have a mod on your mission and but not in your (TADST) server...

packtloss : " I cant select any difficulty other than Regular", i have the same problem!What i did was disable everything Veteran or Expert has disable and bump up the skills and precision!So my Regular is like Veteran or Expert! i hope! ;)

Hey guys. I've been a bit busy working and doing all kind of exciting stuff, but I'll get back to fixing this tool real soon.

Not sure why the game resets the difficulty. But it shouldn't have anything to do with TADST. I think they might have disabled it in the BETA.

TADST will write the difficulty to your config file (you only change he settings for the difficulties under the Difficulty Settings tab, the actual difficulty is chosen under Missions.)

When the server is launched TADST will not do anything else and the config files are correct.

But the files are always overwritten by the server and if BIS has disabled some settings the game will overwrite them.

At least I think this is what's happening. TADST writes the chosen difficulty and then something happens when the server launches that has to do with the game binaries. I'll look into it!

Im dabbling with headless client and just realized there's no option for this - it may be beneficial to have that field present, but not required.

I mentioned it some time ago after Tophe asked for further details, so I'd hope it's at least a WIPâ„¢.

For me, at least, now that headless clients can connect to passworded servers, I'm looking forward to this feature even more. :)

No, you're not getting it sir. A field for the server to recognize the local port. As in the HC setup guide(s). The parameters you posted are for the HC to connect to the server. The server also needs to define the local client port.

Yes when you save it will always reset to Regular, if you use Veteran or some other settings you could just adjust the regular settings to be the same as Veteran etc and they will default when you save. You can make the Regular settings the same as Veteran it just won't be listed as Veteran in the ArmA Server Browser.

If you are running multiple servers...

SERVER 1

2300 UDP (steamport)

2301 UDP (Steam query port)

2302 UDP (used for game)

2303 UDP (used for server reporting)

2304 UDP (? no information available for this port useage)

2305 UDP (used for VoN transmissions)

so open ports 2300-2305

and leave at least 10 ports between the next server set

SERVER 2

2320 UDP (steamport)

2321 UDP (Steam query port)

2322 UDP (used for game)

2323 UDP (used for server reporting)

2324 UDP (? no information available for this port useage)

2325 UDP (used for VoN transmissions)

so open ports 2320-2325

leave at least 10 ports then repeat the process for No3 server etc

The development branch and the stable branch versions are no longer compatible. this means:

Only DEV clients can connect to a DEV server

Only Stable clients can connect to stable servers

Loads of new input! I'm completely flooded with work at the moment, but I'll try to have a new version out within a week or two. First off bugfixes!
