Fox '09 14 Posted May 27, 2010 Yes, I would like to know also. I think I'll stick with Steam. Even though I always vow not to buy from Steam, it's just so easy. Ehhh I can't make up my mind now. I guess I could order from Gamestop since there is one not to far from me. :) Boxed copies are always nice and take no time to install compared to Steam. buy both
Raptor13270 0 Posted May 27, 2010 I'm not sure if they'll ship Arrowhead into Thailand or not, since ArmA 2 didn't sell that well over here. I own the retail DVD. Do you think its a good idea to buy the Steam version of Arrowhead, since its unlikely that I could get my hands on the DVD version.
swtx 42 Posted May 27, 2010 I'm going to pre-order on Steam :D:cool:
von_paulus 0 Posted May 27, 2010 Operation Arrowhead is not mentioned in 505 site. What a way they have to promote a game! This is not an expansion, it's a stand alone game. Besides Amazon.uk, play.com, game.co.uk and probably all UK sites don't have it for pre-ordering. A month away from the release date.... I really can't understand this. Well at least in the US its being published by Meridian 4. That’s why I had hope that there would be no securom. If of coarse, it was the publishers and not the developers decision in the first place.
thr0tt 12 Posted May 27, 2010 All UK sites don't want to sell it I guess, oh well, shall have to get a copy online then but would have preferred a proper box copy.
Zipper5 74 Posted May 27, 2010 ... shall have to get a copy online then but would have preferred a proper box copy. Importing's out of the question I take it? I did that with Arma 2, and will probably have to do it with OA unless I want to wait a few months for it to get here... Not.
hamm 10 Posted May 27, 2010 All UK sites don't want to sell it I guess, oh well, shall have to get a copy online then but would have preferred a proper box copy. How about just waiting a while for the game to show up? It's not even "online" on Steam yet.

I bought the German download version of ArmA II (morphicon or whatever its called) then bought the DVD version when it finally came to our shores. This time I am not paying twice so will probably wait now tbh for a DVD version to appear in a shop somewhere...

rekrul 7 Posted May 28, 2010 You can pre-order from cdon.com, but I don't know if they ship worldwide. As soon as I go to cdon.com, I'm redirected to cdon.no so you have to check yourself. http://cdon.com
von_paulus 0 Posted May 28, 2010 @Von_Paulus do you know if we will have OA in our crappy usual place? You mean FNAC? I don't buy games in FNAC; I usually order from amazon.co.uk or play.com. Sometimes it's half the price m8. I'm confident that British online sites will have it. Only it's taking longer than usual to pre-order it. Blame 505 games. This is nothing to do with BIS; and if by any chance 505games scr** it, I'll order from Sprocket. At least I'll be giving more money to BIS.
A Smed 0 Posted May 31, 2010 I live in the UK and i can put a safe bet that Amazon.co.uk and other sites will have OA for pre-order either 1st June to 5th June. If it isnt for pre-order by then im gonna have to order an american copy...
icewindo 29 Posted May 31, 2010 Just pre-ordered at amazon.de (mentioned release: 25th June), 27€ is a nice deal, especially with the usual non-existing shipping costs.

sic-disaster 311 Posted June 1, 2010 I've got to wonder about one thing though. Since i've got the German download version, if i buy a physical English OA copy in the store would they be compatible?
EricM 0 Posted June 1, 2010 Since i've got the German download version, if i buy a physical English OA copy in the store would they be compatible? I'm sure they will be compatible as the new executable will be OA and the addons are already compatibles.
choum 10 Posted June 1, 2010 Just pre-ordered at amazon.de (mentioned release: 25th June), 27€ is a nice deal, especially with the usual non-existing shipping costs. The morphicon version from amazon.de contain the german version only.
sic-disaster 311 Posted June 1, 2010 What i meant is, will the German language in ArmA 2 interfere with the English language in OpA? It would be bloody annoying to read half the game in German and half the game in English :)
von_paulus 0 Posted June 3, 2010 http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1641720&postcount=4701 So who is going to publish in UK and in the rest of west Europe?

It would be bloody annoying to read half the game in German and half the game in English :) You're a stronger man than I am to manage to type that smiley... . I'm hoping that OA will override the A2 language settings, so that everything is in the language set by OA. Would be nice to get some kind of official comment. At least they've gone for a world-wide release-date this time.
