dragonbaron 10 Posted January 17, 2010 (edited) Your talking to someone that actually knows how to do that right and not to me? :D I wouldnt have a clue mate. But it would be nice indeed to be able to have all vehicle sounds from TR and the rest ACE. :) Very good suggestion. Now we need detailed instructions. Edit: Ups, sorry! Awesome sounds! Thanks for this sound mod. Edited January 17, 2010 by DragonBaron

But it would be nice indeed to be able to have all vehicle sounds from TR and the rest ACE. :) The shitty (and hopefully temporary) workaround for this would be to move: acex_sm_c_sound_veh_helicopters.pbo acex_sm_c_sound_veh_helicopters.pbo.acex_sm_b17.bisign acex_sm_s_veh_helicopters.pbo acex_sm_s_veh_helicopters.pbo.acex_sm_b17.bisign To a Disabled folder inside ACEX_SM. cm. 10 Posted January 17, 2010 I just listened to all of your videos and they are so damn good it's nut funny :) instantly replaced all my prev sound mods with yours :)
Tonci87 163 Posted January 17, 2010 Why not just use a Launcher and give TRSm a higher Priority than ACE_SM?
xXxatrush1987 10 Posted January 17, 2010 wow really, atm the best vehicle sound mod for arma2. big thanks to the ones build this masterpiece! on a xonar audio card+ 5.1 home theatre this soundmod really comes to life. i hope the brake ends when OA comes out^^ (schöne grüße aus deutschland!) Alex72 1 Posted January 17, 2010 (edited) Why not just use a Launcher and give TRSm a higher Priority than ACE_SM? Dont need a launcher for that. Just add TRSM after ACEX_SM in your modline. However sometimes a mod overides all other sounds anyway. Dont ask me how though. Edited January 17, 2010 by Alex72
mrcash2009 0 Posted January 17, 2010 (edited) The shitty (and hopefully temporary) workaround for this would be to move:acex_sm_c_sound_veh_helicopters.pbo acex_sm_c_sound_veh_helicopters.pbo.acex_sm_b17.bisign acex_sm_s_veh_helicopters.pbo acex_sm_s_veh_helicopters.pbo.acex_sm_b17.bisign To a Disabled folder inside ACEX_SM. The bad news about this is that you'll have to do it after every ACE update.. This in fact the wrong way around, and bad practice ... What you do is create a mod folder of your own and call it say "@mixsounds/addons" ... then go through ACE/other sound mods, pick the heli pbo's you want .. guns you want .. etc etc and copy and paste (duplicate don't move as you need them still in the mod folders for updates) and then place them into the new mixsound folder. Ive created my own "mixsound" mod folder (and only ref that in my mod list)and copy over what I need into that per update, its no biggie to do so and the sounds don't change that much per update anyway. All your doing is picking the pbo(s) that are the things you want, so for example you dont have ace heli pbos as well as TDRM heli pbo you simply select the heli pbo's you need (and the config pbo) and copy (remember do not move, duplicate via copy) into your own mod folder. Because having all ace sound mod loaded you have its vehicle pbos fighting for position with TRSM for example, if you don't ref any of them in your mod list and place the one you want into a mod folder you make your done. I have HIFI guns, VOP2 walking, bullet cracks etc, TRSM everything else and ACE explosions, and the XAM environment PBO's all in one mod folder of my own, as I say only ref that mod folder in your list (so you simply have one soundmod listed) and your done. Take the opportunity to use modular for its purpose :) This is the entire reason we have modular pbo files, so we can place them where we want to "mix" them :) Then when you update ace and you have sound mods updated, check if its any you have in your mixsound mod folder, copy and paste to update your own mod folder and your done. Bear in mind that you need to also include config pbo's too and bisign;s IE the lowest kilobyte files aswell as the main larger pbo. This way your not effecting your original source mod folders that need to be the same for updates, but your making one central soundmod folder that you have hand picked duplicated goodies and only have that loaded via arma shorcut :) Edited January 17, 2010 by mrcash2009

mrcash2009 0 Posted January 17, 2010 BTW I did forget to actually mention (now I have loaded this all in game) this is THE best vehicle mod in existence (my view obviously). You have created a "dogs bollocks" audio conversion :)
Meatball0311 79 Posted January 18, 2010 I am taking your advice and am combining all of the sounds I like into my own personal sound mod folder. Do I have to edit or remove any other sounds in my other mod folders (ACE, ACEX, ACEX_PLA)?

mrcash2009 0 Posted January 18, 2010 (edited) I am taking your advice and am combining all of the sounds I like into my own personal sound mod folder. Do I have to edit or remove any other sounds in my other mod folders (ACE, ACEX, ACEX_PLA)? No, the whole idea to centralise you own "pic n mix" mod folder is to copy over into that folder but keep the other mod folders intact and the same so you can update them as normal and then copy over any pbo changes each time. Bottom line is to keep all mod folders you duplicate "from" in tact and don't change them :) ** Copy and paste do not move or delete the source that will mess up your updates via Six updater or Yoma! ** You then only reference the new mod folder you have created in the mod shortcut list only, not the others = no priority clash issues as you are using just one central sound mod folder. As I said before make sure you copy Bisign/Pbo and the config pbo's too (same name but much smaller in kbytes). Without the config pbos nothing will happen :) And to also repeat you use a pbo per soundmod per area you want changed, so no point copying over ACE helis pbos as well as TRSM helis .. pick the one you like the most for that sound section, same with guns, and the rest :) This is off topic and I was PM'd about this so here my mixed mod folder list for anyone interested in what I have: Directory To mod creator/thread author, sorry to take it a little off topic it was just to explain how to get yours working a treat with everything else! :) Edited January 18, 2010 by mrcash2009
Meatball0311 79 Posted January 18, 2010 Roger I understand, but for example I am copying ALL of the ACEX_SM addons into my new @MYSOUNDS/Addons folder. All of the TRSModules into @MYSOUNDS/Addons folder. Now I must remove or move from @MYSOUNDS/Addons folder the pbo's from ACEX_SM that I do not want (acex_sm_c_sound_veh_helicopters, acex_sm_c_sound_veh_helicopters.pbo.acex_sm_b17.bisign, acex_sm_s_veh_helicopters, acex_sm_s_veh_helicopters.pbo.acex_sm_b17.bisign) into a disabled folder lets say. Then my shortcut target line needs to be this: "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2.exe" -noSplash -noFilePatching -mod=@CBA;@ACE;@ACEX;@ACEX_PLA;@MYSOUNDS -maxmem=2047 I understand I need to keep in my "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2" folder @ACE, @ACEX,@ACEX_PLA,@ACEX_SM,@CBA,@MYSOUNDS... etc. for update purposes. My question is what about the sounds that are in @ACE, @ACEX, etc... are they overridden by @MYSOUNDS, and where do I need to keep them even if they may contradict other sounds I want to add in @MYSOUNDS like Vop footsteps. Sorry for asking a noob question in a complicated sequence of words :)
Alex72 1 Posted January 18, 2010 That is good meatball. Some sounds cannot be overridden with TRSM since he hasnt make them yet. Some vehicles are used only in ACE like Bradley (no TRSM sound for it yet). So do as youve done. I think thats how it should be. Should be...
Meatball0311 79 Posted January 18, 2010 First of all excuse me for talking about other addons in this thread, but I think that it will help us all in getting all the sounds that we enjoy working together in great harmony. I added the Vopsound (footsteps) into my @MYSOUNDS/addons folder and it seems to be overriding ACE's footstep sounds. So in all the sounds we add into our @MYSOUNDS folder (as long as it comes after in the shortcut target line any other mod folder that has sounds in it)
nodunit 397 Posted January 18, 2010 Glad to see you made sound packs for all of the vehicles now, the tanks were a great accomplishment of theirselves at first, now they sounded heavy and loud like they should but the addition of everything else just tops it off. This should be one of the 'default' mods that goes into the other big mods for sure, sound DEFINATELY enhances the experience.
mrcash2009 0 Posted January 19, 2010 (edited) My question is what about the sounds that are in @ACE, @ACEX, etc... are they overridden by @MYSOUNDS, and where do I need to keep them even if they may contradict other sounds I want to add in @MYSOUNDS like Vop footsteps. There are no sounds in ACE/ACEX as thats the script and model mod section ACE specifically moved all sound pbos to ACE_SM (ACE Sound Mod) so if you dont ref ACE_SM in your list or any other sound mod come to that but ONLY ref your mixsound mod folder, thats all you will get. The point is you keep them in tact to update, you duplicate what you need to mixsounds, you only ref mixsounds in your mod list. Your still thinking in terms of referencing the other sound mods as well, the whole point is to not ref other sound mods and only ref you mixsounds becuase thats where you have put all the stuff you like :) Then again as Alex has stated keeping it in and using priority may work for things mixsounds doesn't cover and ace lesser priority does, but it also may effect other things too. It probably best to go PM after this if anything else or another thread someplace as i guess its going a bit off topic LOL :) Edited January 19, 2010 by mrcash2009

Meatball0311 79 Posted January 23, 2010 Did your sounds get implemented into ACE? In the latest update UH1Y, MV-22, MH-60 sounds changed and are real similar to yours.
soupdragon 10 Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) Am I the only one getting this? If I use the TR Sounds mod I get the following error when starting ARMA2 even with just this mod enabled. [edit] Also get this error when I use CSM2 and RH_Heli sounds so it must be a sound issue with the UH-1Y [edit] Is anyone else getting this? Is there a fix for this? [edit2]seems you have to have ACE2 mod running with this in order for it to work, once ACE was enabled error went away [edit2] SD Edited January 25, 2010 by Soupdragon
kroky 1 Posted February 4, 2010 @TangoRomeo Why is the T72 so low volume? With the former Tracked Vehicle Sounds only it was much louder...
TangoRomeo 10 Posted February 4, 2010 I used a different sample and .cpp settings this time. For a temporary workaround volume can be adjusted by modifying the multi - volume = "1.5*engineOn*camPos*(rpm factor[0.3, 1])"; to a higher value. Location: class T72_Base: Tank >>> class EngineHighOut Package is binarized, you´ll need .pbo/ .bin tools, i.e. Kegetys' ArmA Tools

Yes, but the config is binarized, so I cant edit it... Could you provide an unbinarized config in .cpp format? Or better include in the next update a userconfig file where everybody could adjust the volume setting to the vehicles?
