Well, when I first played it had the few bugs but with the hot fix it is awesome. I love the immersion and story line of it, reminded me of the old OFP days and those campaigns. The only downside I had with it was the length. It was too short in my opinion. But other than that. It was great!

it was ok but nothing exciting, wouldn't really go as far as call it a mini campaign, more like a long mission. Harvest Red is mini if you put it next to ofp and resistance

I really enjoyed the experiance that the campaign provided. It was a short sweet cinematic experience. It was a good tech demo the show that RV and ArmA can do epic and cool in addition to its usual realistic and mundane.

the community can learn a great deal about mission making from this i believe

I have to say by far it had a great human touch to it. you can somewhat see the decent into chaos and madness of those around you, and the general feeling of fear, hopelessness and isolation. The few left alive are wily and unpredictable and the remnants of the war littered around was chilling. Small details like the baby crying just made it much more real and unsettling. I thought the bit of meeting one of the pilots you shot down was pretty cool. makes you realize what the consequences of your actions are

what could have made the campaign more powerful in my opinion it give a wider spectrum of people you encounter (not just Chedaki who want to murder you). the apocalypses will bring about different reactions in different people. Some would give up and succumb to hopelessness and despair, wile some will soldier on, wile others will give in to more primal rage.

At very least it would have been cool to meet some civilians who survived the chedaki slaughter

In my opinion the campaign was about the right length for the experience it wanted to deliver. In some way the "non conclusive" nature of some of the endings just added to the feeling of unease and tension.

An excellent cinematic experience. very genuine and humanistic

EW campaign+hotfix = perfect.

I never thought I'd play ARMA2 like this. I loved the twists and turns, the campaign wasn't too hard (played it in expert ;)) and I loved the emotional moments; this campaign really hit the spot for me, I hope theres a sequel and that the OA campaign will be to this standard.

I really enjoyed it. Praying for a sequal though as it was very short. If the Red Harvest campaign had been this good I would have been very happy.

I don't want to deny the quality of the campaign and it's publication with an official patch. It does deserve it.

But when praising this great campaign you should be aware that it was made by the (former?) community member Gaia who already shined in OFP with his campaign project WTWE in same quality.

And if you should bother to install OFP again to play it, make sure to try the mission Three Kings by Jezuro, too.

I liked it alot, the atmosphere, detail, creativity and scripting are simply top notch.

I was a little surprised, i expected something closer to 'Blood, sweat and tears' (how about converting that one?).

The way the atmosphere changes from simulation to.. something else.. caught me by surprise but its so well done i got lost scavenging rpk ammo.

Anyone else found this guy?

I found the mission to be easy after you are down there but in a way i was enjoying the atmosphere and detail so much i actually didnt mind not having my butt sniped all the time.

I have no idea why he thanked me in the credits but i thank back for a great piece of work :) .

This credits trick is one of the best ever as it's origin isn't obvious at first... ;)

It was a bit short, but it being for free I won't complain about that.

I liked the way the colors of the game changed after the nuclear strikes, the wind and dust created an awesome atmosphere.

Also, in that last town, there is a building playing a really eerie sound when near, excellent.

I liked the tremors, the aftereffects of the strikes I would say?

All in all, quite nice.

I really liked it, it was very atmospheric & the music tugged at the old heart strings!

how did yourself & all the people you encounter on the way survive the blast though? i'd have thought being so close to it would have either fried everyone or they would be suffering with acute radiation sickness?or am I just being a bit anal?

Honestly we have so many great modders/mods that i dont understand why bis wastes time and resources with missions. I rather see bug fixes and improvements.

Because in someway the campaign wasn't created by BIS or at least by the guys working on the engine code. Author Gaia seems to have joined BIS some time ago but was known to me as a community member making the same kind of great missions before. So he worked in his profession around the bugs we all know and overtook the coders in their bugfixing attempts.

Honestly we shouldn't complain what part of the game develops when it doesn't slow down the other areas. I just hope Gaia won't be influenced in his work. Campaign quality and promptness of the hotfix are an example to follow.

For some reason it lagged like crazy for me when you get to the second level (after the nuke). Anyone else have that problem?

the nuke was only a small tactical nuke, no a major country destroying one with hundreds of square kms of devastation. if you look at your map in the end of the world you can see the blast zone marked. people would have been severely rattled, and may have gotten some burns, but thats all. any radiation poisoning would take days to show symptoms most likely, especially at that distance

I'm kind of compelled by the concept of the special aviation wing. I would like to hear more about Eagle Wing in the future.

A bit short but I loved it ! I thought it was very good (but not *perfect* :D).

Thank you very much BIS for the treat, I liked : the story, characters, music, immersion.

I also liked the multiple endings (the one who pull the shortest match :butbut:)

The things I didn't like much were :

- the random aim shake, this was annoying especially during the last mission (Elite Warriors) it felt like somebody was hitting my elbow while I was taking aim at an enemy

- the 'roll stunt' done by the AIs during Elite Warrior. It didn't look good and caused the AIs to warp and become invincible for a few seconds

All we need now is for some Terminators to start appearing in a follow up :p "The machines rose from the ashes of the nuclear fire. Their war to exterminate mankind had raged for decades..."

Very well done campaign... I was praying I didn't get the short ***** but after I got the long one, I hoped to be the one instead. Is that real or is it scripted to be that way??

Missed the option: Awesome but too short!

:D

Voted perfect though - that was closest. I already said however: Please Gaia, keep at it! :)
