TheCrusader 10 Posted December 19, 2009 Btw, does ace_c_visibility.pbo do the same things as kyu's proper visibility fixes? Just did a short test, and it seems that the inclusion of ACE has the same effect as these mods. Cheers Crusader
mrcash2009 0 Posted December 19, 2009 try updating the other parameters in the userconfig to reflect your arma2profile. I.e. face, pitch, etc And as also mentioned do it for this path config only: C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\userconfig\ACE
gunterlund21 10 Posted December 19, 2009 yes this is exactly what happens to me. The HuntIR seems to be hit or miss sometime. I thought I had to have a battery with the monitor but that didnt solve it. Hopefully this will get looked at. Massive thread and lots of tickets ... so .....Has anyone had issues firing the HuntIR round? It doesn't seem consistent, always it explodes like a M203 round before deploying (in stealth situations that's not right im guessing). Also its ad-hock that the round will deploy a HuntIR in the gear, or it will simply be a m203 round .. even though in gear its a HuntIR round for the next 4 m203 rounds on reload. sas troop 0 Posted December 19, 2009 OK, I've check it out. Still nothing for f*ck sake. I redownloaded both clientside configs from Kelly's Heroes server (my source of all ACE, Six Updater is a bit too slow for me). Now hows all the files: E:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\@ACE\userconfig: FEATURES: Lets you choose different glasses --------- TO ENABLE: Please ADD your Player Profile here + Your name ---------- EXAMPLE: -------- class Identity { face="Default"; squad="http://www.squad.org/tag/squad2.xml"; name = "John Doe"; }; ////////--E D I T below THIS LINE--//////////*/ class Identity { face="Default"; squad="http://www.squad.org/tag/squad2.xml"; name = "John Doe"; }; Left without touching as you said. E:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\userconfig\ACE TO ENABLE: Please ADD your Player Profile here + Your name ---------- EXAMPLE: -------- class Identity { face="Face105"; glasses="none"; speaker="Male03"; squad="http://www.squad.org/tag/squad2.xml"; pitch=1.004249; name="SaSTrooP"; }; //////////////////////////////////////////////*/ class Identity { face="Default"; glasses="None"; speaker="Male01"; squad="http://www.squad.org/tag/squad2.xml"; pitch=1.0190428; name = "John Doe"; }; Added my profile here. And finally my profile: class Identity { face="Face105"; glasses="none"; speaker="Male03"; squad="http://www.squad.org/tag/squad2.xml"; pitch=1.004249; }; Removed name as someone suggested. But its still not working, what's wrong.
mrcash2009 0 Posted December 19, 2009 (edited) yes this is exactly what happens to me. The HuntIR seems to be hit or miss sometime. I thought I had to have a battery with the monitor but that didn't solve it. Hopefully this will get looked at. Well .... :j: .... I just realised after posting and having a play that to select to specify reload of HuntiR or m203 you use the "action menu" ... this will then override the m203 reload under "f" selection. that was my total confusion .. so when loading a HuntIR use action menu to do so to switch to m203 OR HuntiR if you have a mix of both rounds ... probably so obvious to some but I missed it completely .. I just added to the "Facepalm Torrets" I spoke about ... dear me, sorry devs. Having said that the round still has an explosion, which for stealth reasons counters the point of it, so I will ticket that. @above post ... now can you post exactly what you have in the BI/userconfig/ace cpp file as you haven't shown the end result, it just shows its mismatched. I think the name is definitely required anyway. Also are you making triple sure your copying FROM the correct config file to begin with? Make sure in your mydocs you dont have duplicate profiles and your picking from the active one in-game. Edited December 19, 2009 by mrcash2009
sas troop 0 Posted December 19, 2009 FEATURES: Lets you choose different glasses--------- TO ENABLE: Please ADD your Player Profile here + Your name So I copy from my profile in ArmA2. I am pretty sure I do this with chosen one. AndresCL 10 Posted December 19, 2009 //Guess what? Its not working. Can someone show me how you made it? Example of profile section and userconfig section. First you go to your documents, ArmA2 or ArmA2 Other profiles and search for the .ArmA2Profile file. Edit it with notepad and seach for class Identity Should be similar to this class Identity { face="Default"; glasses="None"; speaker="Male01"; squad="http://www.freewebs.com/andrescl/ArmA_Squad/squad.xml"; pitch=1; }; Copy and paste that into the "ace_clientside_config.hpp" wich is in C:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\userconfig\ACE and add your name at the end. At the end you will have something like this class Identity { face="Default"; glasses="None"; speaker="Male01"; squad="http://www.freewebs.com/andrescl/ArmA_Squad/squad.xml"; pitch=1; name="Sharpshooter"; }; This goes under the example
GTO 10 Posted December 19, 2009 Can anything be done to increase the time interval of the version missmatch warning when going online? I tried to play the other night but the server wasn't updated and the constant "BONG" "BONG" "BONG" "BONG" "BONG" drove me to turn the game off. Surely we only need one warning at the start. PTV-Jobo 820 Posted December 19, 2009 (edited) Ok I checked mine with the above and apparently even though I update through thr six updater and even tried with yoma I still have the old? I don't get it. Was there a link given to manually update or what? There's billions of pages of six update complaints, so if someone can give me a lil heads up I'd appreciate it. Just when I thought everything was working and I was up to date I find out my Arma2/userconfig/ace/ace_clientside_config.hpp is somehow stuck with the old one no matter if I update. This is what I have: /*////////////////////////////////////////////// // ___ ______ ______ ___ // // / | / ____/ / ____/ |__ \ // // / /| | / / / __/ __/ / // // / ___ | / /___ / /___ / __/ // // /_/ |_| \____/ /_____/ /____/ // // // // // //////////////////////////////////////////////// // // // CLIENTSIDE CONFIG FILE // // // //////////////////////////////////////////////*/ /*////////////////////////////////////////////// CONFIG SETTING FOR : ACE 2 MOD - NO VOICE, NO RADIO CHATTER -------------------- FEATURES: Disables AI radio chatter as well as player radio chatter --------- TO ENABLE: Remove the "//" in front of the #define to enable the NO VOICE, NO RADIO CHATTER feature. snakedoctor34 10 Posted December 19, 2009 the new one goes to @ACE>userconfig. doesnt override yours (arma root>userconfig) but the old one still works. This is not the problem,i think.
sas troop 0 Posted December 19, 2009 WORKS!!! I did both as Tim and Engerek said me and that works. But you know what was probably causing problem? Tell me, I had name = "SaS TrooP" in config, while in-game I used my Charlie Foxtrot ([RS]1B-SP1.SaS TrooP) nickname. I just found it while reading in game messages :D Was that the reason of my bloody fight?
PTV-Jobo 820 Posted December 19, 2009 the new one goes to @ACE>userconfig. doesnt override yours (arma root>userconfig) but the old one still works. This is not the problem,i think. Ahhhh, so that would explain why it never changed the old one in that directory. Doh! My stupidity. Thanks for the heads up, was beginning to wonder if other things were screwed up at my end. :D @SAS, I think it could have been. It needs the name exactly as you have/use it in-game. Minoza 11 Posted December 19, 2009 Where can we make mission suggestions/requests for ACE 2? I mean I have one suggestion: EVO Blue EVO Red Like in the old days. Simple, WITHOUT MHQ - that thing killed what Arma used to be - SERIOUSLY Please, EVO was one of my favorite missions, and now, only stupid MHQs and teleporting, no more need for transport pilots which was my favorite role... Please make it simple, it was fine before, dunno why someone had to screw everything up. Also, ACE tends to be realistic, so, remove MHQ teleporting!!! That isn't realistic at all...
VKing 12 Posted December 19, 2009 ACE has nothing to do with the missions, so you'll have to complain about /suggest evolution missions in the user missions forum
sas troop 0 Posted December 19, 2009 But I have small question, again :D How the exactly phosphorus grenade works? In real life it is used to burn something up and its deadly poisoning. But I found there is nearly no impact on human beings. Will devs change it?
Evil_Echo 11 Posted December 19, 2009 WP is mostly for marking locations and providing instant dense smoke as concealment. It's not meant to be used for mayhem. While WP can be used also as an incendiary, thermite is far better for that.
tcp 10 Posted December 19, 2009 Making the MHQ available is mission-related. Somebody would need to make the EVO missions ACE-compatible. I think it would only be included alongside the mod if the mission maker himself kept it updated. I agree there should be missions with different styles of play. However, respawning at an MHQ/FOB is no different from respawning at base. You are a reinforcement. It doesn't take supply lines and enemy interference into account, but it's more likely reinforcements would already have made their way towards a FOB rather than be waiting at base. Possibly making it take much longer to build a FOB or limiting the number of troops that can respawn there per minute based on how long the FOB has been in place would make it more realistic. Granted, completely removing it would work too, the island is not that big. If I recall correctly, you can airlift tanks in Evolution, while in Domination, you cannot. Realism is relative, game balance is more important.
sickboy 13 Posted December 19, 2009 (edited) On top of past days Speed and Usability improvements: Finally, Syncable Presets, Settings Profiles and Actions! This addition simplifies the software usage even further, and addresses a few issues aswell as requests. See news item if you have double-records after auto-update. Documentation has been updated to reflect the changes. It should now be much easier to setup the software :) (But there's still plenty left to improve, im sure :p) Currently available Presets Example for A.C.E: 1. Install Software (Only first-time) 2. Run Software, launcher option 1 3. Click Main, select A.C.E. Mod Preset, and press Execute Edited December 19, 2009 by Sickboy
stevedrumsdw 10 Posted December 19, 2009 (edited) Well the save game issue is still happening without the ACEX_SM and the ACEX loaded. Crashing on vanilla scenario missions and all others I have tried. This is without the ARMA 2 beta patch. With the beta it is till crashing but the loading bar goes all the way full before stalling as opposed to no beta it stalls in the middle? Wish I had more time to help figure it out maybe, but I have to dig out of this snowstorm, we got 26 inches. Edited December 19, 2009 by stevedrumsdw
