@qawa you're editing the wrong userconfig.

The one you need to change is the file that will be located inside the following.

\Arma 2\userconfig\ACE\

Just do the changes in the client file in there, the other one is just a backup in case you bugger up the real one that is used by the mod.

@Anyone having problems with the Six-Updater not detecting and updating the new sound mod folder.

Open up the web client via 1 enter

Click on configuration, click on synchronize

Mouseover configuration and click presets

Go to the mods area down the page a little, use the drop down box to find @ACEX_SM and click add existing

Scroll down and click update

Go back to main, select the preset you added the @ACEX_SM mod folder to

Select install or update in the actions drop down.

Click execute, kick back, relax and wait.

Add @ACEX_SM to your shortcut for ACE mod

Launch the game and viola, ACEX_SM should be working.

I play Arma2 with ACE mod in SP, and I approve the no-radio/chatter option for MP, but I've tried to back with voices, following your instructions:

from folder "C:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\@ACE\userconfig" I've modified the file "ace_clientside_config.hpp" in this way //#define ACE_NOVOICE...

It's the correct way to do for turn back the AI radio voices with ACE ?

because dont work ... where I'm wrong ? :(

NOT ARMA2/@ACE/userconfig..... BUT ARMA2/userconfig/ACE is were you will find the correct config file to edit. It is identical to the other one you found.

When I click the synchronize button no the web client I get a bunch of code and nothing happens. Any idea how to fix this? I tried both mozilla and IE and both do the same thing.

Typing the "2" option does not install the sound mod either.

All the synchronize button does is makes sure that the updater can detect the available options.

Go back to page 308 and you'll find my post, shows you the other steps you need to do Maximus.

Since i updated my preset through the updater (WEB) thanks to ACE_SM (soundmod) i see the updater only checking that when i hit "2" to update all my ACE mods.

I checked the WEB (updater "1") and ACE_SM was placed top in my mod preset. ACE_SM, CBA, ACE, ACEX. In that order and the updater only checkes ACE_SM for updates. I saw that beside the ACE_SM it said FALSE for the "SKIP" action. I set the rest to FALSE as well, but it doesnt check for the other parts anyway.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Tried to set things straight with setting hem all to FALSE (skip), and then MAIN to kind of reset and get it "set" (noticed i need to do that when looking for an addon not seen in the preset mod list), and now the updater isnt looking for anything it seems. Just goes pretty quick and then finishes. It says however "manager for CBA, ACE, ACEX, ACE_SM. So maybe the updater is updated to feel if there is something to update and only then update? Before it went through all mods anyway even if there was nothing to update (compared files) wich took a while.

Maybe i have to redo everything?

Try running an update for that preset through the web-interface. As far as I know, option 2 just repeats the last update, so it might not have picked up any new mods you added to the preset?

Using webclient, I click execute and a window pops up for a split second then disappears, then nothing.

:confused: Everything worked perfectly before... so frustrating!

Q1: Do i need to reinstall everything again?

Q2: What do I need to do differently than before? (I already re-synchronized, added the new ACE_SM to the list and clicked update)

Now nothing happens at all :(

Edit #2: Ok so i started up ACE to see if it was corrupt after this whole ordeal, and it looks like it magicly updated to 188 (haven't tested much) And the sounds are still there too! But no sign of ACE_SM on my computer at all... weird.

Sniper, navigate to your six updater folder, delete the six-updater.pid and try again, that's what happens to mine sometimes and deleting that file fixes it for me.

Dude that is normal. Now what you do is go to configuration\presets. Select 'edit' beta. Scroll down to 'Mods' and go to select then select the mods you want top install or update hit add existing and when you have the ones that you want. Click update. Go to main and hit Synchronize. Then select install or update and hit execute. Just like dat

I get that a few files have been deleted so I cannot join a warfare game using ace.

These are ace_sys_wounds , cba_maim and ace_sys_stick2gether

I have not touched anything, and the sixupdater did its job without complaints, any clues

I LOVE SIX UPDATER!!!!!!!

It's very very helpful and it means I do not have to re download the WHOLE file again of some of the larger mods and the BIS Beta patches.

Six updater means it makes everything incremental patches, I love it.

I got ACE working now but there are a few things i can't do.

I CAN'T EJECT!. I loaded a map full of aircraft. i can eject out of the jet i start in, but if i team switch to another aircraft i no longer have the option to eject.

I saw on page 86 that there are different keys. I finally figured out how to go as fast as everyone else. I never knew there was a key for after burners.

Is there any kind of manual or something that tells us how to use some of the things? i.e. i used a heavy AT team. 2 man. one guy carries equipment and other has the ammo. But there was no way for me to tell the guy with the ammo to load it. I had to team switch to get him to do it.

***oh forgot to ask. I LLLLOOOVVVEE the Strykers but why no US ARMY Tanks. There are a few us army units out there that people have made. I think the special ops/ black ops actually has us guys in the humvees but why does no one have army crew in the tanks? it's kind of tacky to have the US Army go up against someone in a game having USMC tanks. Any reason? or has anyone done it yet? thanks

Question about Back Packs (Rucks?)

I was wondering if there is a way to have these added to the normal campaign in Arma 2 so that I can use the back packs while I play through the campaign.

Maybe there is a script that can automatically add it to you and your teammates as soon as you load up the game in the campaign?

Since there has been no reaction to my previous post, I post this again. Did anybody try to load a saved game with ACE mod? I cannot load any savegame when saved with ACE. (in Single Player of course)

Try running an update for that preset through the web-interface. As far as I know, option 2 just repeats the last update, so it might not have picked up any new mods you added to the preset?

Thanks mate, but i did update many times. Updater says its managing those 4 mods i have added. So it might be that it was updated to work better?

If anyone of you run "2" - will it look for your mods and try to update them even if there is nothing to update? Like checking if there is a new version for each? This is what doesnt happen on my updater anymore since i added ACE_SM. Make sure you updated your Six Updater before testing this.

The savegames can be fixed if required btw.

Don't use option 2 (or 21-22) after you've used "Execute Auto", as it makes no sense.

Thanks Sickboy. I think i have to wake up a bit before understanding all that lol. I liked the 1 button press to update it all, but im sure i'll figure out the new way.

I have set all to FALSE now though (SKIP). Hope that is ok.

EDIT: About not making sense to use "2" after Execute Auto. Well thats how i used to set up new addons. I did the Execute Auto ONCE. After that i used only the Six Updater and not the web interface (when a new update was out) wich i thaught was great. I didnt mean that i wanted to run Execute Auto and then "2" as follow up, but just that before it checked all addons when i pressed "2" even though there was nothing to update. Now it doesnt check anything at all.

Just wanted to clarify that. ;)
