Meatball0311 79 Posted December 11, 2009 ArmA 2 official Beta updated to 61062. See http://updater.dev-heaven.net/mainClean up your virtual store folder: http://dev-heaven.net/news/show/244#Known-Issues I have two questions: 1) I am downloading the Beta update 61062 from the ArmA2.com/Beta-patch.php because my updater does not update beta. Is this normal or is the Sixupdater suppose to do that for me? 2) I am not having any problems so for as concerned with install or running ACE, but I have heard a lot about this virtual store... how do I access my virtual store. Once again thanks for your help
sickboy 13 Posted December 11, 2009 (edited) The latest record, 4 minutes after public announcement, first updated report by DragonBaron. Thanks! I have two questions:1) I am downloading the Beta update 61062 from the ArmA2.com/Beta-patch.php because my updater does not update beta. Is this normal or is the Sixupdater suppose to do that for me? 2) I am not having any problems so for as concerned with install or running ACE, but I have heard a lot about this virtual store... how do I access my virtual store. Once again thanks for your help For the official arma2 beta, if you have installed the beta manually, but want the updater suite to manage it instead, then you need to remove it first. If you have not yet configured the beta modfolder in the six-updater.yml, please get the beta one available in the "Lazy method". (The beta was updated earlier today, not at the "ACE Patch Thyme") For the virtualstore please check: http://dev-heaven.net/issues/show/6806#note-2 Here you can check/track the releases, versions and more: http://updater.dev-heaven.net/main @Cross & KellysHeroes: Thanks! manzilla 1 Posted December 11, 2009 (edited) How to use glow sticks? Place a glowstick crate on the map. Go in game, approach it, select gear, select the color of stick you want and add it to your player, close the gear menu. Next equip the glowstick by pressing the f key then look at the action menu. You use it through there. ---------- Post added at 12:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:31 PM ---------- Im confused now...:j:I installed ACE2, then the BetaPatch. Had no problems starting both with Alpine Launcher. No i updated with the SIX updater. Does that mean the Beta Patch doesnt work correctly now? Are you just asking or did you try the game to check? If you haven't, I'm confused by your post. On the main menu of the game it tells the BIS version and ACE2 version on the bottom left and right of the screen. If the numbers aren't correct in game then no, it's not working right. Then you need to post a bug report in the tracker if a problem occurred. rome 0 Posted December 11, 2009 Hi guys. Is there a way to get rid of the zoom when you aim weapon? I don't like that ...... When i tap 2 times on '- (minus keypad)' i get a view too wide and feel disoriented. I'd just like a 'no zoom' feature in ACE. Is it feasible?
VKing 12 Posted December 11, 2009 If you want something make a feature request in the issue tracker. Bugs/features reported in this thread won't be noticed.

Evil_Echo 11 Posted December 11, 2009 Are they really no classname list for all the weapons ? It's going in as fast as I can type and format it. Weapons for ACEX are done, other stuff on the way.

CarlGustaffa 4 Posted December 11, 2009 I'm a bit confused about the new IR glowstick. What is it's purpose? Unlike the IR Strobe, it doesn't appear to have any IR illuminating properties at all. Yes, updater works brilliant, no problems here. My only issue is this: I have to explain the install process to computer illiterates. I've only had one response from my post in our own forums, and that was a failure. And no attempt from others to connect to our server. I mean, even normal mods can be a pain for them sometimes, even when I setup everything neatly in folder. Sickboy, please explain the process to your grandmother, and watch her have a go. Then consider those of us that doesn't have half your knowlegde about the system or computers, but just like to game. See where I'm heading? Those who find this thread check the first page only to find a ton (lots of links) of information how to install. Not checked, but I assume faulty videos are still there. There is no way anyone is going to browse through now nearly 2300 entries to figure out their problems. Nor will they have success searching, since the hits will be overwhelming. They will skip to the last page and simply ask. May I suggest a separate stickied thread for installation troubleshooting instead? And have a severe cleanup on this one, because this is starting to get rather insane :) I think the simplified FCS has been there since Arma2 release. Not sure about the following (didn't notice it now either), but at least ranging, but not lead.
splatsh 10 Posted December 11, 2009 If I download the SIX_Updater_setup.exe, do I need to download this 3 files?: @ACE.7z, @ACEX.7z and @CBA.7z And where do I put them? Do I need to unpack them, or do I just put them somewhere?
sickboy 13 Posted December 11, 2009 @CarlGustaffa: Thanks but I find it hard to do. Others are writing up new guides and improving on the already in place ones. The Lazy guide, with the latest fixed software should be a breeze :) In any case, improvements around the clock on all fronts, please buckle your seatbelt and hang in tight :) @splatsh: Please follow the "Lazy method" http://dev-heaven.net/wiki/ace-mod2/Lazy
fireship4 0 Posted December 11, 2009 It is used for friendly marking, so you can see them with NVGs - basically the same as an IR strobe. They can be attached through the action menu when equipped and show up as a small glowing dot through NVGs. Can also be dropped to mark positions and LZs, etc.

Evil_Echo 11 Posted December 11, 2009 use the mouse wheel whil pressing shift/ctrl to rotate / elevate sandbags Any insight on my sandbag question? Just like it says in the wiki document, "Features of ACE2". Please people - read the "manual" before asking the same questions over and over again. There is even a FAQ that covers issues like the updater and goggles. Repeating questions or "bumping" is just wasting space and time we could be spending on making ACE even better. Those documents are constantly being improved with more info. So it's worth checking now and then for new data.
Col Penny 16 Posted December 11, 2009 Appreciate the attempt to answer my question, however how to stack them is NOT my question, but nice guess. I can't stack it more than 4 high, which is not high enough to mount your weapon on, which the Wiki says you should be able to. Every time I try and stack a 5th one it just lays it right below me. Could you file a bug report for that ( how-to in the FAQ ), specifying as much info as you can so we can try to reproduce that and fix? It would be very appreciated.
