CW001 10 Posted March 13, 2010 (edited) Got banned from both the game and forums for making a thread asking if the forums had any admins. Guess I got my answer. Wait wait wait, you can't play the game because you asked a perfectly valid question? That's a big ass WTF right there. Edit: Question for slightly tech-minded people here. When the updating program runs, my CPU temps go up by about 20C, making my computer freak out and shut down. Does anyone know why this is happening at all? As far as I know, legally they can remove access to the service whenever they want, but at the same time you have the rights as a consumer to return the product for it not working as intended. But if the game isnt damaged then no store will refund. Would be a hard lawsuit to pull off but if enough people were filing with a good lawyer who knows. However last night I came across some odd issue... can't say a hacker 'cos I'm not sure but: I came across a recon... shot him twice close range with shotgun and knifed him also... no effect. Annoying Similar thing happened to me a couple of times last night. 50 or so rounds from a PKM and 2 100% definite knifings (there was blood splatter and everything) and he turns round an headshots me with a pistol. If anyone wants to add me, I'm CW001 Protip: In My Documents, go to the BFBC2 folder and open the settings.ini. Then, under sound, change quality to high. Your ears will thank you. Flash Thunder 10 Posted March 14, 2010 ^^ Yes do what this man said! :) Im going to add, that I think BFBC2 is going to need at least 2 more patches ive been trapped in some objects, cant walk up a tiny little step on this one house without jumping, you cant walk up the side of a small staircase, you have to be completely in the front to go up which is just dumb. Balance is just down right ****, pistols being the strongest weapon in the game, chopper miniguns doing no damage, shotguns that wont kill at point blank im looking at you m1014. that annoying text overlapping on servers under the scoreboard, cant see ping ingame, no toggle crouch and toggle scoreboard. Sprinting should be alittle faster these guys run so slow for being so in shape. Something I doubt is possible but would like to see is some texture mods, why are alot of the textures so downright low res? Console res? even with Level of detail on HIGH things like grass pop up at like 5 feet away. also does HBAO even do anything, I cant tell the difference with it on or off, but when its on it easily takes off 10 Frames. I'd just state that inoperable multiplayer is a defect. Not too sure that it'd work but it's worth a try, and if you argue enough they give up and give you store credit. It all comes down to finding a good HC server, and people willing to play w/o hacks. The dilemma; i can't join most PB enabled servers for some reason. Certainly is :/ It all comes down to finding a good HC server There are quite a few out there, problem is the good ones tend to be full :( So far I've had the best luck playing with Russians actually, lots of team work, medics that actually revive, assault guys giving you ammo when you need it. and people willing to play w/o hacks. Then I selected browser with filter for "PunkBuster" but it just kept showing all the non-punkbuster ones as well. I had to manually check from each server does it have it on or off. PB is a joke anyway, the only thing it "stops" is legit players being able to play the game. Evenbalance flatout refused to release any kind of working fixes for PB during the Win 7 beta because 'they don't support BETA OS". That worked out well for anyone who wanted to play BF2 or BF2142 (among others), you'd get booted off the server about 30 seconds into game. I wish Devs/Pubs would stop using this useless POS. Yah, the rights thing didn't work with newer versions of the 7 (64 bit) beta (especially with BF2142). I tried that about 100 different ways and I was still getting dumped after 30 seconds. Evenbalance freely admitted they weren't going to provide ANY support so it was 'hit and miss' at best. I should add that this was more of a problem with the 64 bit version. While I agree that they don't HAVE to support Beta's, in the case of Win 7 and given the fact that MS released what amounted to a retail version 6 months before actual release and in lieu of the fact that Vista was a POS, you'd think Evenbalance could have been a little more customer friendly. They were being very arrogant at the time on their official forums. You can say it's better than other AC software but the fact is, BC2 is rife with cheats so it obviously isn't that great. Anyway, I don't like it, it's only ever caused me problems, but to each their own at the end of the day. I will admit that since 7 has been retail, I haven't had trouble with it but I know people who have :) On a different subject I have my server up now - just search Bangtail in the browser. You are all more than welcome to play on it and I'd love to set up some matches as well. That message that comes up when you commit suicide... "Epic Fail" thats a good term to describe Bad company 2 I call this kind of release, Hype rushing.
