Dragon Rising has been released

Recommended Posts

I cant wait for a sequal either, cant wait to see how many more people CM can shaft through Lies and PR stunts.

Lets hope they dont recycle these lines:

"On a scale never before seen."

"The characters have such high fidelity *cough*"

"We listen to our Community *bullshiebe*"

"As you can see I took a hit to the head, its nothing serious but I am bleeding badly."

"We have faithfully recreated the original Flashpoint game, the fans will truely be amazed." *farts*

"Dedicated servers you say?? LOL P2P iz moar 1337." *Retardation*

"Nice..." What the incompetent design team over at Consolemasters thinks of the huge failure that is DR.

"Whats a PC, consoles have better graphics!?" *Console kiddy retardation*

Anyways when Operation Arrowhead is shipped Ill be trying to convince the left over believers over at CM forums to get Arma 2. :yay:

Since by then DR patch 1.3 will make the game non functioning on all PC's!

I'd take a wild guess that they already have ArmA 2.

It's the same target audience and there aren't so many titles to choose from.

The opening ceremoy song of the Vancouver winter Olympics sounds like "Coming to America"

where was I?

That's right, dragon something...

You think CM will be able to release anymore non-racing games?

I think discussions such as these are more likely to put people off than lure than in.

Lol @ the "Please!" thread. I commend Templar for using up the end of his ban-resistence suit by calling CM execs out, but I wonder how long that'll last

Moderator to Higher Ups: "ok, this guy is getting outta control, can we ban him yet?"

Higher Ups: "Hmm, better call accounting to get the green light on that one"

Accounting: "Negative. His youtube vids probably sell an extra 50 copies a day -thats 50 X $5.00, well thats an extra $250.00 a day, better keep him onboard"

Moderator: "damn"

LOL I was imaging the very same thing just this morning :p

what I meant was many people that complained that DR was not true to the legacy were informed that Arma2 was the true successor. Many peeps over there never even heard of Arma2 until DR launched. Then suddenly it was like "hey what's this Arma2 thing?"

I still see posts come up every few days saying "I don't get why you don't have X feature in game. It was in your original game!"

I still see posts from people thinking that Codemasters made OFP.

It's a retarded world.

@TemplarGFX. Im not so sure its a smart thing to change the cables to the GFX. If the cables are melting its not a good sign. Now as you fixed that you might soon find the next weak point in your system, which can be more expensive.

I suggest revert and dont use the latest patch.

I think Templar should apologize to his graphics card for using Dragon Rising :p At least I apologize to my pc system when watching Dragon Rising screenshots and videos so they don't commit suicide. *just kiddin'*

Nahh to be serious ... I haven't heard for a very long time that a game actively kills graphic cards. There have to hardware issues in the first place I guess. We can't validate it from distance.

You'd think...

From reading reports it seems that of those who've bothered talking about it, 95% of players are having 100% load issues with their graphics cards, another 20% are having 100% CPU load and full memory usage.

Hmm... are we talking about fully utilizing the hardware? As in optimize the code so that it will make full use of the core? Sounds like what suma said being easy to write an infinite loop that will show that the core is being utilized 100% but that does not equal optimize/efficient is true...

cant bother to look up the link for BIS Dev blog... something about multicore support for arma2 I think

So after CM were paid by Intel to promote their productline, now the only significant mission maker is trying to sell us new wiring for our GPUs after CM "accidentally" introduced not a game-killing bug, but a platform-killing one.

I think I see a connection here :p

What's next once people fry their current systems, new Nvidia GPUs or new mainboards with an Intel chipset?

I didnt say buy new wiring, I said check your wiring. I didnt know until I took the wiring out that is was a crappy cheap steel wire in the connector that came with my GFX card.

Molex to PCIe will always be slightly worse for wear than a dedicated PCIe cable from the PSU. Having said that, you sound like you know what you are doing, and if you are saying it is the game causing your card to overheat, then I believe you.

It's just sheer incompetence on CM's part to introduce a patch that causes this problem for so many users, it seems the QA team that delayed the release of the first patch have taken a sabbatical.

Many echoed this point before, and I will again. You're dedicated Temp...I'll give you that. (Hey Temp. is getting high Temps!...No? OK fair enough) I have to wonder how long CM can shit all over you guys over there before you finally throw the towel in. Not stop playing DR, as you say, you love the game, but simply give up on CM and any hope of any further improvements or DLC.

I'm also wondering if it really is out of the realms of reality to consider that CM have done this on purpose to simply get rid of the PC crowd, who in all fairness must be causing so much headache for them. Much easier to give the console crowd a virtual lollypop to suck on until they bore after 30 hours of gameplay.

I really can't think of a worse example of a games developer, or publisher for that matter, and we all know what evil bastards publishers can be, than The Codemasters Software Company.

(I noticed on the CWC disc, it says CM hold the Trademark for the FADE system - thank f*** they didn't keep that one. Imagine the sheer incompetence of those guys implementing FADE into their "games").

Overall, this situation simply is not...

...nice.

..has lollypop got one "l" or 2? & correcting spelling in reason for editing box!

I thought that CM only held the rights to the name Fade, which is why BIS don't call it that anymore?

I find this highly unlikely that the GPU can pull that much current to the point of failure. The Amp load on the PSU just does NOT put out enough to melt 14 gauge wire.

Here's the current Amp rating for US Home equipment.

Circular Mills

64.1

Ohms at 1000 Feet

4109

Current Carrying

2.575

Fusing Current

166 Amps

You're PSU in your PC only puts out: 18 amps at 260Watts. Using the full load, the system board will fail. Totally first. The soldier connections will break, and the power cable from the pc board connectors would seperate the etching off the mother board way before the 14gauge wire would cause open circuit. Furthermore the video card does not pull that level of amperage. Ever.

It can't happen.

Reference

Also, just for reference.... A household refrigerator running at 120Volts has an amperage draw of 10 Amps across 12 Gauge wire.

I believe so. Just like they hold the rights to the name Operation Flashpoint. :j:

Just ran the DR Ambush mission, 50% gpu load in the menus, 100% in the game itself. According to gpuz VDDC current was 42 amps and MVDDC current was 21 amps.

That's on an ATI 4890, stock clocked, Catalyst 10.1, Win7 64bit.
