Tonci87 163 Posted December 12, 2009 And yes it is Damn cool. I still have to laugh when I think about that OPF DR Video that shows how 6 Enemys can´t kill the player even if he runs between them, and how the Tank cant break the Tree. Hillarious
walker 0 Posted December 12, 2009 You obviously haven't read any of Walker's post in the old DR thread. That guy pioneered the art of DR hating long before it was cool. Hi all I did not hate it. Hate is something I reserve for special cases. I just pointed out that certain actions such as the impossibility of including playable aicraft hinted at at problems with engine they had chosen to use. When it became obvious fact that they had not done their maths on the choice of engine and that such a major mistake in choice of engine would make it impossible for them to achieve the projects aims; I started to warn potential buyers that, that was the case. I hope it has finaly put the last nail in the coffin of those calling for rag doll type physics at least until we have Quantum tunneling or Quantum sychronised pair broadband capabilities. The laws of physics and the rule about lightspeed seem to ignore people who want to play rag doll type physic games over the internet. I also pointed out that there was a questionable morality in selling a game based on the brand rather than the substance. I did so forcefully and with conviction that what I was doing was right. I believe myself to be 100% vidicated by the facts. Kind regards walker

walker 0 Posted December 13, 2009 Hi all Oh and I forgot to mention I pointed out repeatedly that trying to hoodwink their customers would terminally damage their core brand. Kind Regards walker

-RIP- Luhgnut 10 Posted December 13, 2009 when I say ulter-smooth, this means taking out all the micro shutter(yes, they were there) when steaming the island, not that I really care that much, but they are there when recording with fraps (or any other recording software) you're going to get stutter as it writes it's frame buffer to the drive. You loose about 20% performance with Fraps capturing.
froggyluv 2136 Posted December 16, 2009 Seems trouble was there from the get-go with this one http://kotaku.com/5427863/they-worked-on-the-game-you-played-but-didnt-get-credit
Zipper5 74 Posted December 16, 2009 That's just despicable on Codemasters part, but I would consider these guys lucky. At least they didn't end up with their names associated with such a terrible product. Bitter sweet, I guess.
rundll.exe 12 Posted December 16, 2009 lol@ Zipper, thats nice way to cheer them up :P But this explains why the game is so bad, and doesnt look anything like the first renders. They just screwed up management-wise. Luckyly BIS staff is small enough to include everyone on the scroll :D
sanctuary 19 Posted December 16, 2009 What else can you expect from a company that was managed by the father of the 2 (at the time teenagers) founders, ... General Guba !
bascule42 10 Posted December 16, 2009 ...that was in death march ...was a seriously broken project with two or three restarts ...big teams of disenfranchised people, and a corresponding reduction in the character, charm and personality of the finished game. Obviously CM management did just cross their fingers and hope for the best. Perhaps the devs new that trying to get a ,(envisioned) game DR together with the limited engine they had was pointless. Sometimes we forget that the people who run games studios are not often game players. Luckily we have the like of EA & CM to remind us of this.

mr_centipede 31 Posted December 17, 2009 So I guess patch 1.02 will fix the unnamed developer?
Zipper5 74 Posted December 17, 2009 Yeah, the game will be perfect once they fix that. Can't believe they missed out someone. It's prevented me from playing an otherwise perfect game!

Whiskey_Tango 10 Posted December 17, 2009 Maps? Ahaha. You mean zone unlocks? They're using the same map, CM just unlocks a new area for "official" multiplayer gameplay! that is simply the most idiotic thing i have ever seen a company do...this game is a fail on so many fronts its rediculous...still people try hard to like it and even defend it, why is beyond me
Bulldogs 10 Posted December 17, 2009 Money... That's why. I was admiring my ferrarri in the front yard the other day and this guy comes up and says, "what an ugly toyota!" I'm definitely not buying another Codemasters product myself. Edit: Oh, and this one too: http://community.codemasters.com/forum/operation-flashpoint-dragon-rising-game-pc-113/401067-everyone-please-respond.html I swear that TemplarGFX guy has been bought out by Codemasters.
