Star Wars Stormtrooper

I love the Star Wars Mod in Arma2. Thanx for the great work ;)

I hope the blaster problem will be fixed soon....the drop of the laser blasts realy sucks.

I hope there will be released much more Star Wars addons.

What else is be planed and what can be realized?

An working AT-AT Walker would be great....or an AT-ST Scout Transporter.

But my favorite addon would be a working speeder bike.

A Snow Speeder, X-Wing Fighter and Tie Fighter or Tie Interceptor are also nice.

Ahh man....I cannot wait until the next release ;)

The arma2 usually problems with the trasparencias, sometimes not textures are.

Try to put this RVMAT address the 3D glasses (ca\characters\glasses\data\tactical.rvmat).

yes, Arma2 has problems , sometimes even with own BIS made addons

but my advice for autor of this great sci-fi mod:

- use textures with alpha-channel in the same directory as addon ( ABC_.../...)

do not use path to BIS file ca/characters/data/....

- do the same with RVMATs

sometimes after binarisation game "lost" rvmats and alpha-channel textures are white IF THEY ARE IN OTHER FOLDER

and prepare yourself 2 folders

- copy NOT BINARISED RVMATs and overwrite those in addon

how do i get all to work in P85 and my Polish addons (glas textures)

1) do "for binarisation" version of folder with all textures, materials, MLODs, cfg_models... etc. on disc P:

2) after binarisation (in addon folder for example ) UNPACK IT (in other folder like D:/my games/arma2/addons... (not loose your MLODS)

3) change, overwrite all materials and textures by those from 1) (don't touch ODOLs)

4) when you have ODOLS (and RVMATs from 1 folder) PACK IT AGAIN without binarisation

it works

if you binarise all, you may have problems

it is one of most often problem of people who make addons , they think that BIS tools works without any problems

but there are problems

BIS materials are binarised, so when you binarise what is already binarised - it can be screwed, remember: binarise, unpack, overwrite, repack

It takes at least 5 shots to the torso for the blasters to kill.

im sry for my english...i ment i already fixed the damage for the blaster...in the next release the blaster will kill with one shot and the range is much bigger...

I suggest looking at your ArmA2.rpt file, there are some errors regarding your mod.

The mod is very much a working alpha at the moment, some basics needs fixing (which appear to have been done).

I'm sure in the next few releases, the smaller bugs will be killed.

Ace... I've been having Colonial Marine vs. Stormtrooper grudge matches all week!

where are the marines located? i can't find them anywhere!

I'll check version and get it to you when i can, i don't go online much so i don't bother to update much either

hey guys

i have some problems in making new stuff at the moment because my Oxygen 2 Personal Edition does not work... i did try to reinstall but still the same problems...

it does show me this box then it crashes:

nvm, the marines weren't in the right folder, and so far the marines are kicking stormtroopers' asses

If you check in Villa's thread you'll see that he re-released his Colonial Marine pack, it's just Marines, their kit and an APC (No dropship sadly :( )

Failing that, I know they're on Armaholic

hey guys

Actually, with the modelling tutorial from Mondkalb i was thinking about making some static imperial / rebel objects like crates / wallpieces / small buildings to use as cover during the blaster fights.

I'll start with some crates to get the basics right. :)

Thinking about the texture style:

In the movies we see the rebels and imperials have totally different styles, like used & dirty and the blueish steel on the imperial side. So i guess for rebel structures different styles would be needed that provide some camoflage on different planets, like snow / woodland / desert. Imperials dont seem to care for any kind of camo, they look the same whereever they construct things in the universe. :) Make sense though, as an imperial you dont need to hide somethng.

yeah good to head that you want to learn making addons!

and yeah i started to make static objects to but then i got this O2 problem...

i planed to release some basic SW things and a base builder with walls door towers and so on so you can build your own bases...

but first i must find a way to get my tools working again....:mad:

yeah the latest fix like the blaster could be released but i want to add more stuff but if i dont get the tools working it looks bad...

and i think there will be a little suprise in it;)....

EDIT: YEAHA i found a way...for the first check all worked fine :D

EDIT: ...it worked fine now the error is back ...:(
