Strange, I've seen no corruption or noticeable slowdowns on 258.69.

Sometimes when I play the game crash and i got the message that the nvidia drivers(latest) stop responding and that they were restored by the system.

I have to start the game again so I can play, why is that?

Try to install a older version from nVIDIA: v.197.45 WHQL

Report back and let us know if that worked. I've been getting the same driver crashes with the latest sets.

Guys do NOT use the latest beta drivers from NVidia. They break the in-game Anistropc Filtering settings and who knows what else. NVidia has really disapointed me with their support (or lack of it) for ArmA2. If some of you would plase fill out their driver feedback page http://www.nvidia.com/object/driverqualityassurance.html

And ask them to fix the Anistropic Filtering problem in the latest beta drivers and also to put some attention on optimizing their drivers so Arma2:OA runs better. Maybe add in "Your compeition is working to optimize ArmA2 and we would like the same".

Steam Version of Arma II OA

windows 7 32 bit

I have tried the various settings for the video card. I have downloaded the latest drivers. Both approved and Beta. I have verified cache, and deleted and re-verified cache and not change.

The problem happens for Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA both.

I didn't see there was a new version. I installed the patch, now it won't start at all and gives me

Error Compiling Pixel Shader PSSSSMSpecularAlpha:1

Uninstalled everything, reboot, reinstalled, same thing.

EDIT and did it all over again, same error.

Ah well, I needed a new coaster anyway :(

I read about removing all the stuff there, it's a fresh shortcut no extra items in it

"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2OA.exe"

Also no addons installed

Any news on this? I've been thinking about rolling back but I don't want to if it's not going to fix the problem.

Sorry for not responding earlier but I rolled back to old drivers and I dont have the same issues anymore.

So it might solve the problem :)

Awesome, thanks so much for the followup. You rolled back to 197.55 correct?

Yes that is correct. I havent played so much so I cant be sure if the results are permanent but so far it works good.

Well, instead of rolling back yet I just tried the new WHQL-candidate 258.96 drivers here. So far, I've not gotten the driver death that I had gotten with 257.21 and 258.69. Managed to play through an entire SP mission without issue, so this is a good thing IMO. :yay:

Using them also, no problems, but I didn't have any problems with the other 2 you listed either...

"new WHQL-candidate 258.96 drivers "

I tried these as well, and for my 295 GTX, they are a no go. Textures load too slow. Went back to the 258.69s. These work way better for me.
