eirulan 10 Posted March 21, 2011 Thanks to the Cold War Rearmed team.;) You made a great mod ! I have played through the Cold War Crisis campaign and I enjoyed a lot. it's impressive. The feeling and atmosphere is intact. I also used Group link 3 and I enjoyed a lot the mission "Pathfinder" with enhanced AI ! I have a Core 2, GEforce 8800 GT, 3 giga ram. The MOD is very well programmed and I do not have any issue. It runs fast and fluid! :)
lennin 0 Posted May 25, 2011 I've been replaying the game recently, latest version for download and the latest ArmA, and I have been enjoying it. The only problem is that Troska early in the game is a civilian, and cannot pick up the RPG launcher. I remember playing the Resistance years ago and having that available. It's only a pain because trying to get the AI to do most of the work is a pain.
chammy 7 Posted July 17, 2011 Enjoy guys! I'm glad we finally got this released. Thank you, sir, for your hard work, actually, for your teams hard work also :).
chammy 7 Posted July 17, 2011 OK, I have a hangup. At start up it says the version requires 1.14. meh, I have 1.05. Was there an update i was not aware of? Or is the update the Operation Arrow or what ever prior version?
celery 8 Posted July 18, 2011 Just download the 1.14 and 1.18 patches.

MrM 10 Posted September 27, 2011 Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I've been playing this recently. Firstly, absolutely fantastic job thank you all so much. It has brought back so many wonderful memories. I've reached Tank Rally and am having problems getting going on the mission as our convoy of Abrams gets slaughtered by RPG attack very early on. Normally by the time we reach the first T72s at least one of the AIs is dead and one more is on Status Red. I never remember being so vulnerable to RPG shots in the Abrams in Flashpoint, was there a change to this?
W0lle 1050 Posted September 29, 2011 There's no need to be sorry. We're very happy that people still play that thing. :) As far as I can remember you're the only one so far with that problem (or others just haven't bothered to mention it). While we did a great job with porting the old material and missions over, you can't really compare the two games so things will always be different than they were in good old Flashpoint. And as none of us have the ArmA tools installed anymore, it's very tricky to provide any further patches. So the best advice I can give you is to try the mission again and try another approach to the first objective, play with a different formation. Also try to set your team in combat mode instead the default aware mode.

I'm now on the final missions of the campaign, what your team has done is really outstanding - getting to replay OFP with better graphics and sound is a dream. There's only one way this can be beaten, Cold War Rearmed 2! :D

Normally by the time we reach the first T72s at least one of the AIs is dead and one more is on Status Red. I never remember being so vulnerable to RPG shots in the Abrams in Flashpoint, was there a change to this? I had the same problem. The only thing that helped for me was enabling "extended armor" in the difficulty settings. That pretty much made this mission close to OFP standards. Actually, if memory serves, the mission was quite impossible without extended armor in OFP as well... I have a different problem. I looked for it and couldn't find any reference to it. In "Wake Up Call", the mission where James Gastawski eliminates the Shilka's in Kolgujev, I have some text showing on the top left corner of the screen when the team gets detected. In addition, and this is really weird, when I blow up the first Shilka it doesn't explode, but the objective ticks. However, I heared a distant explosion sound that followed my satchel detonation. When I move towards that sound I find the second Shilka, it's dead as if it was blown up, and I can't finish the mission because I still have the 2nd shilka objective no completed... In any case, thank you guys for this amazing work. it brings so many good memories despite the xboxe's version weird voice acting :p
DrPots 1 Posted December 21, 2011 I can't believe it took me 2 years to discover cold war rearmed, felt like I only searched for it a few months ago. I was playing it last night with a friend but ran into an issue of flags disappearing in Malden city conflict MP Mission CTF. Once one team takes the flag it isn't available to the other team to retake. I remember I ran into this a while back when I made a mission but can't for the life of me remember how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for this cool addon. Lots of fun.
Logue 1 Posted January 13, 2012 Hi, Firstly, I want to thank the creators of this mod for their work. Secondly, I have a few issues with it: I have played through four side-missions from CWR and I wasnt able to finish any of them - probably some glitches in scripting or can the fault be on my side ? Besides that, Im happily playing the Cold War Crisis campaing and have already finished The Resistance campaing, Both have minor bugs but otherwise are fully playable. Please, give your thoughts. ---------- Post added at 06:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:01 PM ---------- Hi, Firstly, I want to thank the creators of this mod for their work. EliasComando 10 Posted January 21, 2012 In resistance campaign in the mission "No Turning Back" when destroy the tanks and head to the rendezvous point is not the truck that will pick up me and my platoon there is a solution to this or I destroy the tanks as quickly as possible? foffy 58 Posted April 14, 2012 I have a question. I bought the ArmA Collection on Steam a while ago; would I get better compatibility using OAC instead of CWR? It can hold me off until CWR2. CWR has a few too many bugs that hinder the experience for me; No Turning Back has a major bug where I cannot pick up any RPG to attack the tanks, which is mandatory for mission completion. max power 21 Posted April 14, 2012 There's only one way to find out...
foffy 58 Posted April 15, 2012 It seems the servers to get those files no longer exist.. What a bummer. Oh well.
max power 21 Posted April 15, 2012 For OAC? Hmmm. I guess PVPScene really likes his Yoma tools. I think they aren't really a replacement for mirrored distribution from websites.

OAC will provide "only" the terrains with "generic" textures and a config to play old Missions with ArmA Units. CWR provides you the original terrains with custom textures and all native OFP vehicles. Which one you prefer is up to you. But surely OAC will also not give you 100% working OFP Missions because the more complicated an OFP mission is, the more complicated it is to play this mission in ArmA without modifying it. Maybe one mission works better with OAC than CWR or vice versa, or it doesn't work at all no matter what you try. Too many things has changed since the OFP day in regards to mission development to provide 100% compatibility.
Zeevs86 10 Posted March 3, 2013 First of all, sorry for my late reply. I hope I didnt break any forum rules. Hello. I have lost my old ArmA license and I am thinking of rebuying the game for 10$ just to play this mod. My question: is it worth it? Second question: where to buy? cuz I read that you need 1.6 version or something and im not sure if I will get it from gog.com (maybe they are selling the updated version) Thanks! sander 14 Posted March 3, 2013 Provided you have a machine that can run it you might be better off getting Arma II and Operation Arrowhead to play the CWR2 incarnation of the mod. Regards, Sander
max power 21 Posted March 3, 2013 I would stand by sander on this one. If you have the computer, and are going to buy a game anyway, I would consider buying ArmA 2: Combined Ops instead, even if just for CWR2. What we have in CWR2 is far superior to CWR. First of all, thanks you for reply (and you sander) :) I have combined Ops on steam and also a new PC :D But. CWR2 is just a demo, right? does it have the whole Flashpoint campaign? I preffer playing the whole campaign even it have lower graphics, if it fully working on ArmA1 without any major bugs.
W0lle 1050 Posted March 3, 2013 No it has not yet the whole campaign, but soon we hope you all are able to play it. Your call of course, but if I could decide between playing the whole campaign in ArmA with quite a few bugs in CWR1 or playing the demo campaign plus a hell lot of Missions in CWR² then I surely would go for the latter. Especially if I would have to pay 10$ to buy ArmA first. :)
Zeev86 10 Posted March 3, 2013 Cool thanks for your reply, I think I will redownload ArmA2 from steam and download the demo of CWR2 :) BTW, if you have time to add the followoing info: how many missions of the campaign and normal missions are there in CWR2? or is there a some kind of source I can download new missions for CWR2? Thanks!!
W0lle 1050 Posted March 3, 2013 The Demo campaign has 9 missions and ends after "Undercover". The current Mission package contains 21 official SP Missions plus 8 Bonus ones. There are also 32 MP Missions (Coop, DM, CTF etc) in the package. And then there is Sanders CWR² Coop pack with currently 70 missions in it. Enough to keep you busy for a while. :)
