This is a revival of the OFP Nostalgia Pack. Back in 2001 a few talented people created the first OFP Missions using the demo content and a 3rd party mission editor - remember the game was not released back then. I have converted and fixed these missions so they can be used in CWR. Where possible I added playable slots for MP usage. Converting these missions was a pain because the previously mentioned editor created mission files which are no more readable by ArmA. That means I had to fix the bugs manually, then imported the mission and then started working on them once the mission became stable. I changed a few smaller things and scripts but I would say I reached the goal of keeping 90% of the original mission. Compared to todays "standards" these missions are pretty easy, there is no fancy scripting and effects stuff. However playing these missions gives you an idea how it was back then in Summer 2001 as the community was awaiting the first War Simulation from BIS. You can read the original text made by famous Avon Lady here. I want to thank Avon Lady for keeping the original mission download available until today. Thanks too of course to all the people making these missions back then. Please feel free to report bugs and I try my best fixing them. You can download the 39 mission package here.

*** Important message to the community and the fans of CWR *** After more than two years of hard work, several setbacks and people coming and going, a lot of great donations from very talented and kind people, and with a lot of support from many sources I need to make the following announcement: Cold War Rearmed has been released Some months back it seemed that we cannot make it in time, that a release for ArmA is not possible. But with the help of many people who spent a lot of their free time and their models an impossible task has been done. Without our donators and the hard and dedicated work from the team this would not have been possible. A huge thank you to all the people at BIS for all their support, assistance and input in the past two years. I am grateful to these kind people and the whole CWR Mod team. However, not all tasks has been completed. There are models which don't match the quality of others. There might be bugs in the missions and campaigns. There might be translation errors and yes there are even some placeholders still in use we were not able to replace with finished models, we used a lot of sticky-tape and welding to make it happen. :) We had then to decide: Release what we have, or abandon all the work and donations and wait for ArmA2. We decided to release CWR as a public beta and hope that you enjoy what we have done in the past two years. Detailed Bugreports and constructive feedback are highly appreciated and we do our best to fix what we can. Depending on how many people are still interested in our Mod even after ArmA2 has been released, we might provide further bugfixes and patches. If you have an addon you think it would replace our existing ones we're more than happy to include it. There are certain people out there we asked for help or cooperation several times but they simply ignored us, there are also a bunch of people which joined and promised us the moon on a stick but never did anything. I do not want hear any complaints from these people, not a single word - you know who you are. Last but not least, please check the included credits scene for a list of all involved people. Please check also the readme for some important details. Thanks for your interest in our work and have fun with Berghoff, Gastovski, Armstrong, Kozlowski, Fowley, Guba, Angelina and all the others. :) Installation 1) Download the "all in one package" from Armaholic. 2) Extract the content from the CWR_20-05-2010.7z archive into your ArmA installation folder. 3) Create a new ArmA shortcut on your desktop and add -mod=@CWR to the end of the target line - or Create a new shortcut to the "cwr.bat" file in your ArmA installation folder - or Add the Mod to your favorite ArmA launcher application. 4) Play! Please report any bugs you encounter here - Thanks to dev-heaven for the support :) Huge thanks also to Armaholic for the reliable and fast hosting in the past two years.

I’ve seen a few threads on the validity of the “Hide Body†action and although the implementation never made any sense to me, I always enjoyed the idea of hiding enemy units that I’d silently dispatched while sneaking into a base. Years ago, I spent ages trying to perfect a “dead body detector†script in OPF for AI units and recently managed to get it working in ARMA2… kinda. For some reason, 9 out of 10 times when I hide a body, the corpse becomes perfectly horizontal (regardless of the slope he was lying on) and continually bounces up and down like he’s humpin’ the floor! I’m guessing this is a bug? Since the body doesn’t get hidden, my script doesn’t really do much anymore  Do you guys recon the “Hide Body†idea is worth pursuing or will BIS remove it in favour of the more realistic “Drag†option being bounced about?

I was looking through the original Arma site and I took a look at the Queen's Gambit expansion and I happened to see the DC-3 as an added vehicle and i was wondering it it would be in Arma 2 too because ii think it would be good for some of the insurgent forces to have it because A. Im sure someone other in military or even EX-Military would know how to fly in the entire state of Chernarus....B. the DC-3 is a readily available plane thats been since like the 30s and as is still used by several touring agencys etc around the world. C. Its simple to fly and reliable meaning not alot of effort would have to be put into maintaining suiting the insurgents lack of knowledge in planes perfectly! D. It wouldn't be too impractical also because the insurgents could fly low under radar and go in the country side flying through vallies etc. to trans supplies and men from hideout to hideout. This related to a mission I've just made: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=55410 I used one of the CTF's included with ArmA as a basis for my CTF and after running it with two players we noticed that the mission is trying to upload an insane amount of data on the client side. For this two player CTF it was causing the client to upload at ~30KB/sec which was the limit of their connection, therefore they had a very large ping. At first I thought this might be to do with the -server command being used, but the same results were produced with using the hosting function built into the game. I proceeded to try some of the CTF's included with the game to find out that they too cause the client to upload like crazy. Next I tried it with a computer on my LAN hosting the game via -server and when I connected and started a CTF it was uploading less than 10kbit/sec the entire time, often it averaged ~4kbit/sec and I also had desync. The server has a dual core, 2.8ghz CPU with 1GB ECC memory so there's nothing wrong with the server which leads me to believe its something wrong with the game? Is anyone else finding this or know of any way to fix this issue? I'm running 1.01.
