Przemek_kondor 13 Posted April 7, 2008 2 pvt. jenkinsNo, summers in Germany and Poland are quite cold - so no rolled sleeves http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v235/Thunderbird84/Image_7.jpg so why polish soldiers have it rolled? 30-40'C is quite cold? vilas 477 Posted April 7, 2008 Polish moro was 2 layers thin inside and thick cotton, not like ripstop BDU Polish uniform was good for 10-15 degree Celsius with this woolen underwear specially also i made such Poles because it looked "nice", so i don't change it if fight are in central europe in 80's than we had lower temperatures than last years Polish army has ripstop since few years
Clavicula_nox4817 0 Posted April 7, 2008 Awesome mod i cant wait till release! the US units look amazing already but is there a chance you can make the boots a little longer like in this pic. This pic was taken 1987 you can see the boots are alot longer then in arma. BTW just wonderin are there going to be any US units with sleeves rolled up like in this pic as well? And thanks for making such an awesome mod in the first place! The BDU uniform is quite cold, even when using the heavier "winter" set. The boots look "longer" because the pants are pulled up, in reality, the pant leg conceals much of the boot because of the blousing.
MontyVCB 0 Posted April 7, 2008 BMPs look nice vilas, keep up the good work.
NSX 8 Posted April 7, 2008 2 Przemek_Kondor Because Poles are slavic nation, they've got 50% resistance to cold (even of magic origin). The same refers to Russians. Hm...btw, do you have any sense of humor?
ingram 258 Posted April 7, 2008 I like how man, that is quite far from developement process of both mods saying what has good or bad atmosphere. Gotta love your competent opinion. If You have a problem with me, discuss it by PM. BMP's looks great Vilas . I will send topas soon some missions to test but without scripts yet.
Przemek_kondor 13 Posted April 7, 2008 do you have any sense of humor? yes, I have, but I don't know where You come from and what do You know about us (Poles) and about our climate
NSX 8 Posted April 7, 2008 2Kondor Hard case there. For ones, who completely don't understand. I didn't mean anything about Poland here - that was just a joke about why americans in our mod don't come with rolled up sleeves. Reread what I wrote and see for yourselfe. Cold resistance is "perk" from The Elder Scrolls series...So, I can match you don't have humor. Ah, and I come from Russia. Zdravstvui, pan! Prosche govorja - sovetuju huitoi ne majatsya i vosprinimat' vse legche. 2Ingram No, no problems Ingram. Just avoid unaccurate phrases about what is better. Cause we don't have any island or campaign here so far - so what can you say about atmosphere now? More - such phrases can provide undesirable tension between our mods. As you work both for CWR and P'85 as a photographer. At least here you are not from core dev. team to know everything about "atmosphere". All in all, it's simple diplomacy, my friend... Vultar 0 Posted April 7, 2008 Last year we had 35 degree... And usually we have much more than 20. It's enough to take off jacket, otherwise you will burn and come to house wasted ;p But if you are black, yeah summers in Poland are cold xPP Also, most of soldiers in those years were keeping sleeves rolled up just because they were warm themselves because of running, shooting and other things. Others just to show their 'muscules' xP Heh, jokes must looks like jokes, don't you think so? xD
ingram 258 Posted April 7, 2008 Ok guys maby enough of this offtopic? For the end my opinion was personal and I don't want to cause any unnesesary problems between teams.
NSX 8 Posted April 7, 2008 2 Vultar Oh, another one there. Read my phrase about summers in context with Iraq and americans, wearing thick leather gloves in Iraq. Maybe I'm not a profy when it comes to Polish summer, but I come to thought, that you guys just don't understand (or don't want to understand) simple joke. As I said that's quite a hard case... Kristian 47 Posted April 7, 2008 As for the thing that germany or poland would be cold in summer? I dont think so.. I live in finland and we have about 20-35 Celsius at summer, so I would consider adding few "summer" units maybe btw: just asking and could find by search, will you guys make UH60 with Browning m2 or a Chinook ch-47?? I loved em' in OFP, and I love arma's UH60 but I REALLY miss the chinook.. Just gotta love the progress you've made guys! That means a lot
NSX 8 Posted April 7, 2008 2Kristian And another one... Reread everything from the begining. Now I understand why noone in NATO understood Putin's anecdote about Honecker's "telephone only for listening" and Moscow. You obviously can't read between lines. A little more imagination, my western friends. And I guess it's enough offtopic from individuals who can't understand this.
9mm 0 Posted April 7, 2008 last summer was pretty dang cold in here. Anyway, may I ask what helos NATO will be using? UH60s or UH1s? Oh, nevermind, I did my homework, I guess you guys stick to UH60A, right?
king homer 1 Posted April 7, 2008 Nice BMP-2D. Are you planning to add a BMP-1D aswell?
CanadianTerror 0 Posted April 7, 2008 You guys dont know cold...its cold here. (I believe -55C with the windchill this winter) Mod progress looks good guys. I hope you worked on some of the blood texes a bit Vilas. Â EDIT: Quote[/b] ]Now I understand why noone in NATO understood Putin's anecdote about Honecker's "telephone only for listening" and Moscow. You obviously can't read between lines. A little more imagination, my western friends. I gave up trying to "get" Russian humour a long time ago, its just not funny. NSX 8 Posted April 7, 2008 2 Canadian Terror Not every anecdote must bring you roar of laughter. Some of them are just instructive. Eh, a bit more philosophy and pragmatism, my canadian fellow. Â Â At least Putin's one was of that type. Btw, is your sign about manitobians is funny? Maybe there's something wrong with me also or I can't get canadian humor? Or it's just not funny? 2 King Homer BMP-1D is not planned so far, but maybe Vilas would add it later. Keyword here is "maybe". Â

topas 1 Posted April 8, 2008 Well talk about a topic that went off-topic  Someone here just said that P85 is an perfect example of going along with eachother despite the differences, why don't we keep it that way and cut the B/S with comparing / evaluating sense of humour etc? Raafatah64 0 Posted April 8, 2008 when will b the release for this sweet and lovley addon can anyone give us a hint thanx.....
Shadow NX 1 Posted April 8, 2008 Not really, far too much things that still need to be done. But if possible we will release a demo version sooner or later. @Topas Amen!
vilas 477 Posted April 8, 2008 BMP-1D not planned, but UAZ 451 vel UAZ 3909 vel "cucumber" is in progress Kondor finish climate discussion, i remember from my yound years that Poland was colder than from few years in winter i remember snow for 20-30 cm, -15C, in winter + 30 now we had snow for 5 cm for few days, and in summer +40 while in USA they have snow climate changed as from my 30 years view :P and remember that old POlish uniforms were thick , NOW we have ripstop but even modern "not ripstop" POlish uniform has extra cotton on back and front (not on sleeves) and even modern Polish trousers have on knees and front of leg extra thick cotton, i use such "combat" trousers when it is too cold for typical jeans :P so our uniforms are thick and wormer than USA
Vultar 0 Posted April 8, 2008 Yeah they must be somehow supported, otherwise they would cost 50zl instead of 200 xD The price sometimes explain everything lol. Hey vilas, how about SKOT? Are ya guys going to include one? xP Of course, Poland didn't have much money, I think that's why SKOT had only KM 12,7. But w/e it was mainly for infantry transport. PS It had pwner holes which allow soldiers to shoot form inside ^^
