Cessna 182

Cessna 182

Hi,

I've ported the famous OFP-Cessna to ArmA.

I didn't change much on the outside Model, but've completeley reworked the Cockpit.

The result is a retextured Cessna 182 with a high-detail Cockpit (The one before was looking like "Someone made a photo of it, then let it redraw it by a kid, then he scanned it, recompressed it to the very low, and then resized it to 64x64px, and then to the final 256x256px" - $cruffy. But thats ok, since OFP was released in 2001 wink_o.gif ).

All intruments work. There are no dummies or placeholders.

Here's a complete list of the Instruments:

Altimeter (Barometrical) (2x)

Altimeter (Radar)

Variometer (2x)

Airspeed indicator

Clock (2x)

Bank indicator

Attitude indicator

Compass (2x)

RPM Indicator

Fuel state

Fuel flow

Oil pressure

Oil temperature

Engine temperature

Flaps indicator

Also the Steering Horns and the Thrust-thingy are fully working.

Also the plane comes with several random aircraft registrations. (And a random gimmick)

In addition to that you can place your own ads, or whatever you like, on the plane by simply using the setobjecttexture command.

The rest explains this picture:

Known Bugs:

-The animations of the passengers are not the best...

-I wasted the ShadowLOD

-No destructiontextures

The pack includes two Cessna 182 (One in Green and another in the reworked BIS-Paint) and a sign.

Cessna 182 V.1

Made by Mondkalb, based on the Cessna from OFP.

Feel free to learn from this addon how to animate your cockpits.

I don't care if you credit me when using my textures.

But it would be nice, if you do so. smile_o.gif

Try messing around with the setobjecttexture command and my planes/sign.

If you need help, ask me:

Thanks to Sgt.Ace for supplying a model.cfg!

Nice to see this back ingame!!!!!!!!! Now we need the bike back and we be all good!!!!

Just one point the view from inside is too close to instraments. I could almost not see out side front window.

Still the best I have seen in a while. yay.gifyay.gifyay.gif

Very nice Mondkalb, the cockpit is really good, outer textures might need some tweaking but they are acceptable. Haven't checked the passenger anims but the pilot really should grab the yoke. wink_o.gif

The landing light seems to be perm on, even with no one in the machine.

Overall a keeper which will have its place in my addon folder. Thanks for sharing, much appreciated.

Havent tryed it yet but from what I see on the screens you've done a really great job there, and i think it's the first time i see such accuracy with the instruments, you should really consider porting some military jet from OFP (say F-16 whistle.gif )

Thank you Mondkalb ! I have wanted this back for a long time. Should have been included with Arma IMO

Thank you for reworking it too

I haven't tried it yet, but looking at the 2 yokes, does that mean the co-pilot can drive it too?

->If this is considered SPAM, i accuse the original poster of spamming too wink_o.gif (aka search).

EDIT: value to the topic itself. I haven't checked the cesna out, but nice to see this isn't a simple 1-2-3 convertion and some time and effort has been put into.

I don't like the panel, too near, but well, we have 3rd person.

I find the fly very difficult, maybe it's me (and ArmA hideous Fly Mode) but i can do not even a 30 grades turn without a stall and a (very possible) crash.

Apart from that the plane looks good and adds one more plane to the civs, poor bastards, they began with nothing.

Just got to try it. Nice to see the Cessna back.

One minor thing. The animation of the ailerons are the wrong way round. If you turn left the left aileron should go up, not down and vice versa
