opteryx 1562 Posted February 26, 2008 Hmm thats sad.... couldn't you just post one very tiny info like "will it be out within march or is it delayed longer?" I can officially confirm that this is true. It will be out in march or it is delayed longer. (Sorry, I could not resist this joke) LOL Seriously though, when will you people realize that setting release dates or promising withing a certain time frame will never happen with unpredictable things such as patches? Unexpected things can come at any time in the development process which can delay the release date substantially, and you KNOW how pissed the community will be if such dates expires. It's useless, buddy. Check my posts of the past pages; It's just useless. When you try to explain the why and how... at some point you must even defend yourself How much funnier can it get? "A mule doesn't hit the same stone twice over"... I guess that tells us a lot about the persons who do (and over and over and over and over and over and over)
Dudester 0 Posted March 2, 2008 By the time this beta patch is out officially, it may aswell be a new patch that needs another beta test. After all it won't be the patch people are testing right now. Lets just hope it hasn't created more problems for some people, like past patches have.

I'm sorry, but could you rephrase that? When a beta patch is given to the pubic to test out, its usually officially released not long after, that is, if there are no issues with it. With the length of time this beta patch has taken to be officially released, it has made even me think! Just how much tweaking to this patch they have done, and if any of the new tweaks will cause problems for some people. Now that wasn't so hard to understand was it. lets also hope, that all the clans who have already left this game, come back and try out the 1.09 patch. Arrowhead 0 Posted March 4, 2008 I read that we will get something additionally in 1.12.... RTS for MP.... Did you just pull that out of your ass, or is this actually happening? I just about creamed my pants...

bravo 6 0 Posted March 6, 2008 Arf, "Where is the Patch?!" <ul>ArmA Support And Patching Plans - Part II Where is that patch? The patch announced in ArmA Support and Patching Plans is shaping up nicely. It took much longer than we wanted, but finally I am happy to report the work we did on VON and anti-cheat, which was the most difficult part, was successful and we will soon be closing the patch. Besides what was planned, we have managed to include a handful of other fixes and improvements, most notable: * Fixed compatibility issues with Vista x64 platform * Fixed Out Of Memory problems caused by exhausting 32b virtual address space * Significant optimizations with large view distances * AI bridge pathfinding much improved * Fixed a few bugs in AI target recognition both visually and aurally * Improved airplane turn dynamics simulation (including improved rudder simulation) * Fixed clipping issues with 16:9 or TrippleHead displays Because of the multitude of changes, we plan to release one more beta patch before this work will be "good to go as final". The purpose of this beta patch, besides giving you an early opportunity of enjoying the fixes we have implemented, is to perform a broad community testing, so that we can be confident the final patch is really stable, it fixes what it intends to fix, and it does not introduce any major regressions (new problems). Dudester 0 Posted March 7, 2008 Anti-cheat? Is that for Coop or CTF? how many fix in Ofp did we see for this?
max power 21 Posted March 7, 2008 Anti-cheat?Is that for Coop or CTF? What does this cheat prevent? Plz list. In terms of cheating, I don't think there is a distinction between ctf and coop.
Dudester 0 Posted March 7, 2008 Whats the point in an anti cheat. There are no clan servers left for CTF. They left because you didn't listen. Instead you laughed an scoffed at there suggestions. I remember the old ofp community and it wasn't like this. They listened. Whats the point in anti cheat. Why do you need it against Evolution boring AI. When you can respawn in anycase and eventually win?

Harlock_GBase 0 Posted March 19, 2008 I had random CTDs too until i installed the newest ATi video drivers (Catalyst 8.3). Now i also installed 1.09 beta and i have to say i was never able to play the game that smoothly before. Now it feels like the Arma i wanted when i bought it. I had only played about two hours until now, because the performance was inacceptable, but now it's much much better. For the first time i can see how good this game can look, even on my old school rig (3.2 GHz P4, 2GB Ram, Ati x1650xt 512MB). That's the way to go BIS, and if this new memory mapping method brings even more smoothness, just bring it on!

That is very true. I left Arma on my shelf for months because of the unacceptable performance. Come on BIS... FINALIZE THE DAMN THING!
