Kerry 0 Posted December 13, 2007 Gnat @ Dec. 12 2007,11:16)].. but it seems to be problem all over the internet that the French are made fun off since they decided not to join the war in Iraq. By "all over the internet" I'm sure most of us know which particular nation you mean. Ignore them, they're only denigrating the French because they have enough power to "disagree" and actually act on it. Cool video, I like the concussion effects on players, hope it effects AI similar. Clouds would be very cool if the frame rate stay alive. I think I hear jelouusyy?? For real tho, it was a joke. and im jst kidding to you too Gnat. I worship you. and Propilot, please never call an awesomly sounding combat abience "some stupid audio clip" . I cant wait for XAM 1.4. And im sorry if I offended any french on that post, it was just a joke.
layne_suhr 0 Posted December 13, 2007 OMFG! THIS IS THE BEST MOD EVER! Well enough caps This i will be the first XAM for me and i will not delete it until 1.5 comes out! This is gonna be the toy for everyone now! Exceptional work!
kroky 1 Posted December 13, 2007 I hope that DMSmokeEffects work with XAM 1.4 too. It's really a pity that the view block smoke grenades don't work with XAM 1.3.... And yes the rain from ArmAEffects does'nt work with XAM 1.3 too. Please snake make XAM more compatible or modular to work with very important mods like: - ArmAEffects 0.52 (Maddmatt) - DMSmokeEffects 4.3 (DMarkwick) - DMHide (DMarkwick) - Suppression (Second) - VFAI 2.0 (Victor Farbau) - SIX pack 1 (sickboy) - True Mods - Q11 (realistic ROF and weapon recoil) - NWD (Ballistics and Scope Fix)

hypno toad 0 Posted December 14, 2007 Would it be possible to make XAM mod have it's own servers (meaning that vanilla users can not play in XAM servers, and visa versa), many vanilla arma servers do not allow XAM mod.
PTV-Jobo 820 Posted December 14, 2007 wow the 21st...my 25th birthday. Talk about a great present!

UNN 0 Posted December 14, 2007 Quote[/b] ]exactly like your brain... I'm ashamed to say...So called British culture has helped to perpetuate such lies since 1914: Entente Powers     Population Millions     Military Deaths    Civilian Deaths     Total Deaths     Military Wounded France           39.6               1,397,800       300,000         1,697,800       4,266,000 United Kingdom     45.4               885,138        109,000         994,138        1,663,435 It really annoys me to think the price France paid during WWI has been igonored ever since
naash 0 Posted December 14, 2007 I agree with you, but we don't need to count the bodies, real soldiers know that we've ever been on the high grounds, when Freedom was really endangered... from the beginning of the USA history... ...to the Afghanistan. by the way, we should not have to defend for not being in Irak. but maybe a brain could help somes to understand it by knowing some parts of History... you might know him : Lafayette
utterslax 0 Posted December 15, 2007 I'm not trying to be offsnsive or anything, but I think the view that the French don't fight comes from WWII, because Hitler over ran your country so quickly. I do feel bad everytime I hear someone say that though because truth be told, without you guys, don't know if we'd be the same country (or any at all). Many people forget the fact that you all helped us win our revolution, what ever the reason, as well as inspired it and our constitution, more or less. utterslax 0 Posted December 15, 2007 Also. I personally think the backround sounds of explosions and weapons is annoying, I want to hear whats REALLY happening, not some stupid audio clip playing in the backround. As I understand it, those are the REAL sounds, not an audio clip.
naash 0 Posted December 15, 2007 I'm not trying to be offsnsive or anything, but I think the view that the French don't fight comes from WWII, because Hitler over ran your country so quickly. I know that, but it's a shame that most of people talks without knowing History... Even in France, a lot of people believe that our army were cowards and just ran away without fighting... The defeat wasn't caused by a lack of courage, but by General command deficiency, and a desastrous defense policy the years before.. During the campaign of France, nearly 100 000 french soldiers were KIA (in action, I insists) in 3 weeks (USA lost abount 50 000 soldiers in 10 years of fights in Vietnam), and Germany lost a lot of men, airplanes and armoured (I'll find the exact numbers later). The sacrifice of the french army in Dunkerque allowed the Brits to extract the majority of their troops instead of the initial plans which was to extract just few thousands (exact numbers will come too ). But how could you know that when even french don't know it ?... It's easier to deny soldiers than to watch the deficiencies of a state.
commiejoe 0 Posted December 15, 2007 Excuse me while I wipe the drool up from my keyboard But wow that is really impressive, I think XAM is one of the only mods that I have yet to have tried for Arma due to its monster file size, but with 1.4 being relatively smaller in size I will definitely try it for sure. Too use all the French I remember from high school: " C'est magnifique"
naash 0 Posted December 15, 2007 I believed that the most known french words were : - je vous aime - voulez vous coucher avec moi ? - c'est la vie
Maddmatt 1 Posted December 16, 2007 Since the download for XAM is so big, could you please release a version compressed with 7-zip for those of use with crappy connections?
Benoist 0 Posted December 16, 2007 It's going to be compatible with these mods: DMSmokeEffects 4.3 Suppression VFAI 2.0 True Mods Q11 (realistic ROF and weapon recoil) NWD (Ballistics and Scope Fix) Yes, i copy&past Kronky's post but that is because in our server we used to play XAM until we made our own compilation and would be a shame not to be able to play with it. But i'm going to download it for personal use anyway. EDIT: Off topic: I can't get to work the NWD's Scope Fix with Second's Suppression Pack, it's just me? naash 0 Posted December 16, 2007 Also. I personally think the backround sounds of explosions and weapons is annoying, I want to hear whats REALLY happening, not some stupid audio clip playing in the backround. I'm a beta tester, and I can testify you that those background sounds are really great. They are "just" an audio clip but, when you're ingame, it seems that your action is a part of a bigger battle, far away of your place.
mrcash2009 0 Posted December 17, 2007 This is slightly off topic but : Quote[/b] ]DMSmokeEffects 4.3Suppression VFAI 2.0 True Mods Q11 (realistic ROF and weapon recoil) NWD (Ballistics and Scope Fix) "Suppression", whats the link to this mod, ive searched but cannot find using just that description? Is that True range AI but another reference?

Although I also prefer to hear what's going on really. Would be nice to have the option to switch off the combat sounds though. I rather think this should be included by a mission maker if he wants you to feel to be a part of a bigger battle. PS. Suppression and NWD addons work good together. Agreed, What if you are wayyyy up in the north and the battle is in the south, thats not realism. thats just annoyance. But like i said, other than that this looks great, good work so far! naash 0 Posted December 17, 2007 If you've already been in a "hot" place, you would remember the background of firefights... It looks the same ingame. And remember that the whole island is about 20 km wide... So the battle isn't so far away from you, wherever you are.
