The FDF sound mod is really great as well:

http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=896

But...each soundmod is the best to your personal opinion.

No way we can tell you which is the best since people will all have their own best mod.

Just try them all out yourself and listen to what they do with your arma.

Than use what you like best.

Ohh, and also try Chammy's sound mod:

And what about Modern Warfare Modification:

Ohh and I think you should have posted this in the other addons section wink_o.gif

If you're more into realism you can checkout Chammy's Sound Mod found HERE

And heard in the videos HERE and HERE. The last one has some updated sounds not included in the beta.

Direct Downloads:

Chammy's Sound Mod Main Package and an up to date config fix for CSM here.

Do not say like that, I love the CSM sounds,CSM is my favorite sound mod before I finish the FFAMM. Chammy has a great work.

I think you can choose every mod in CSM,FDF or my FFAMM base on your like.

FFAMM not only a sound mod, but aslo include Tracers and Effects, and it is the sound mod with smallest datasize.

Try my new version FFAMM1.3P

By the way, Thanks for your overpraise xmas_o.gif

Well it`s good here and there but what annoys me the most is the SAW and PK sound  huh.gif

Not my taste at all and not realistic. Haven`t shot a SAW in real life but PK yes (i don`t know if Chammy have changed those sound allready i`ll go and have a look)

Just thought I'd chime in real quick.

My personal preference is FDF. Why? Because it's consistent. Chammy's and now more recently FFAMM (haven't tried ModWar to be honest) offer a distinctly different feel, and are certainly good for changing the battlefield ambience to what you wish. But they are sadly inconsistent. Some sounds are great (the AK 74 in FFAMM for instance sounds very nice, as do the general "distant battle" sounds of Chammy's), whereas others are clearly not taken from the same source/have an entirely different "sound" to them.

FDF, even if it has been criticized for being "Hollywood", is very consistent in its sounds. Furthermore, FDF modifies nearly all aspects of the default sounds: airplanes, tanks, vehicles, explosions (of all sizes)...even nature-sounds. And it does so consistently.

For me, Chammy's or FFAMM are nice diversions that give you, as a player, a quick fix of "something different". But in the long haul, the number one sound mod over the default is definately FDF.

biggrin_o.gif

(Disclaimer: I'm not criticizing the work of the other sound modders mentioned here: I've tested and tried yours, and they're perfectly excellent as well, especially for a change now and then! Also, FFAMM is more than just a soundmod, which also deserves a mention, and Chammy's is due an update which might change the inconsistency, which should also be mentioned. Until then!wink_o.gif

Kind regards,

Wolfrug

Im all FFAMM'd up at the moment.

FDF didnt do anything for me TBH.

Chammy's has some realy great sounds but some AK and rifle sounds are just a little too weak sounding. Im still awaiting his new version I will give that a blast when it arrives.

I use FFAMM over XAM1.3 although thats a huge size conversion the sounds in that mod with FFAMM are my current setup and Im loving it.

The BPA Realistic Sound Mod is what rocks my socks at the moment. The crispiest sounds I've used and with a lot of bang compared to other sound mods.

I haven't tried FFAMM yet, but I think I've tried all other sound mods around, and nothing else has gotten close to make me leave my current one.

The worrying thing for me about Chammy's is that it's broken some missions, and I have no idea why. I love the sounds, though they are no perfect in all cases, but I think it may have some issues other than that, so it's not ideal if you are a MP mission maker.

Ive been using FDF sound mod for a long time but i now prefair HIFI FX the battle sounds much like what it sounds on the news with news reporters imbeded with troops but feels not as complete and refined as FDF some of the distant explosions in HIFIFX can hardly be heard but the rifles are the best most powerfull sounding out of all the mods.

HIFI, hands down. I use the normal (not warfare) one.

It kicks ass, some of the engine sounds are a bit headphone-crushing though. Overall its much more consistance and nice than the others though.

Must be my soundcard...

Yep, or your hearing.  wink_o.gif

HiFi here as well, I like FFAM as well but at the moment HiFi wins for me.

Hifi, FFAMM, WGL. But they are all good. I never really understood the purpose of this thread. It's pretty much personal preference. The all have there strengths and weaknesses but overall, FFAMM & HiFi probably are the most accurate at this point. But they should since they are the most refined and recently updated.

The best bet is to DL a bunch and test it out. Bandwidth permitting of course.

FDF still has the best jet sounds. hands down.

In my opinion you can say that about XAM 1.5 as well if you hear this:

That's exactly what I thought. I tested every sound mod I could find but mostly compared the rifles as I knew that's what I would be listening to over and over and over...

Even though some of the guns are not very loud in RL, I needed them to have some punch to get...inspired.

I ended up sticking with HiFi as well.
