Chammys Sound Mod

I tried this mod after reading through the thread. I have tried FDF (both versions) and Mod War Sounds. I had thought that Mod War had gotten it quite right. Your CSM is much better. You really took the sounds of the bullets being fired at you and improved greatly. I now hear the bullets thud the ground near me, whine by or crack if still sonic. A fire fight really sounds very good, especially when the rounds start to thud near you.

I know that you guys have not touched the vehicle sounds yet. However, in the mod, the direction of distant choppers and vehicles is slightly off. A chopper might sound like it's coming from straight on, but it really is coming from a 45 degree angle to you. If you could improve on the doppler effect as vehicles come and go that would be terrific. Also, could you work on the sound occlusion as vehicles move behind buildings, walls or other structures. The Mod War Sounds mod seemed to improve the sound occlusion of vehicles. Right now, in CSM, vehicles can sound very close, yet can still be a distance away. Some of that is because of how the vehicle sounds are in unmodded ARMA.

Very good mod so far. The sounds are very immersive and really add tension to a fire fight.

I look forward to future revisions and the final version.

After just messin around with the description.ext and speech in ArmA I shudder to think at the amount of time and skill it must take to make a mod like this!

Yeah I have that problem right now, all sounds are like medium to max volume even when I have the slider just up a little from 0, its really unconformable

ok i like this sound mod more and more but where is the base? explosions in other sound mods have a good thump on my sub woofer before any other sound and i think that is where your most lacking at the moment possibly even adding artificial base to all sounds im not sure i do like the sounds but they are so quiet and without any of that umph that gives my sub a good work out im sure this mod will be much better once you finish all sounds so its an ambient environment not just a few sounds that are good but totally different from the rest of the games i think i want as much realism as possible so dont get me wrong thinking i want hollywood booms buts i definitely want that initial thump that comes from all gunfire and explosions just as it does so in real life keep up the good work and thank you for putting up with all our criticisms no matter how constructive they may be and for all the comparisons you have to deal with to mod war and fdf lol

AK47 is very quiet, quality of sound is very good but it should be noisy. When enemy is shootin to me from AK47 I should feel fear! Also when I'm shooting from AK47 I should feel power!

Chammy your sound mod is top of the line and I love it, however, im even more looking forward to the next version of it being released. Any idea when that will be?

Are you also using the config fix? I received an error message regarding the reload file as I fired up ARMA until I replaced the original config file with the config file fix. Once I did that, the mod has worked very smoothly.

To answer some of you're questions,

@ TrunkzJr - A new video will start the making real soon, no release date on a video at this moment.

@ FlyinBullets - I feel the same way, but.. as i said once up-top, no release date at this moment, more info later.

@ mant3z - The beta only had the test sounds, the sounds in the release of v1.0 will mostly be different(if i understood chammy correctly), we might keep the at4 and some others, but right now we are working on volume fixes, vehicle sounds, surprise sounds, and more..

Ill be back later to answer more questions if any one has any...

We are aware of this error message, however it does not effect game play, therefore, the fix will be in the V1.0 release.

For now, you can just ignore that message. sad_o.gif
