cannot get this to work sad_o.gif

Ive dragged the addons into the addons folder.

created the @ace_everon in the mod part of the launcher prog.

Game loads,i goto editor,hit everon,crash to desktop.

please help

Wonderful job. It's great to get back to where it all began.

re:AEC Island- I never understood why it wasn't more popular. First thing I did when I downloaded an OPF mission was try to convert it to AEC. It was a particularly good setup for a dynamic campaign, with each faction having a home island. Abandoned Armies would have been fantastic on AEC, and there was finally room for proper air/naval action.

I'd also like to see a "huge Malden" or a Levkas map for ArmA, as big as reasonably possible. Also I'd vote for a no grass version but only if it's not too much trouble.

anyway, keep up the good work and thanks a lot - I'll be using this map all the time.

I second the request for someone to convert AEC's combined Everon, malden, Koulgojev islands. I tried a simple, mod the required version number and plonk it in a mod folder but it CTD'd during loading. So, again I hope someone will convert it. ArmA is ripe for a combined map with all of OFP's islands. pistols.gif

You don't need to move the files, just extract the @ace_everon folder to your ArmA directory then modify your shortcut.

Sounds exactly like that you have 1.07, but you load up 1.05...

Did you check the version number left side down at main screen of ArmA?

Well maybee there will be one in the future with ArmA trees but so far Sgt.Ace is forced to use the OFP trees. smile_o.gif

The biggest part why he is using OFP instead of ArmA trees is the performance of the map may Everon could start lagging if he replace all OFP tree's with ArmA treess.

Another big problem is, in OFP there was a object for forests with 20 or 30 trees in it so you just had to place this object and then you had 30 trees standing there in ArmA there isn't such an object for trees or forests.

Well that's not my mind i think it should not be a big problem just look at Sahranie the map is 4- 5 times bigger then Everon and in the North there are also a lot of forests.

But on the other hand. OFP tree's rock's!! wink_o.gif

There will be two versions, one with OFP and one with ArmA woods.

I agree, One good thing about the OFP islands in ArmA is the killer Framerates...please keep them as is smile_o.gif

My Specs are CoreDuoE6600 x1950xtx 2gigRam ArmA on high settings with Everon arma woods 20-50FPS, ofp woods 50-100FPS.

I don't think the ported OFP islands need to be any less detailed than Sahrani. If you're playing ArmA, you should have a PC capable of running it. If you want high FPS, then adjust your graphics settings accordingly.

Having those OFP forests in ArmA looks very out of place. And having 2 versions of the islands could cause problems with missions made for it as it will take extra work to make them compatible with both. Then even more problems can arise in MP.

Though with the CWR guys making these islands using ArmAs techniques, I guess it doesn't matter so much confused_o.gif

Anyway, have you got the grass layer issue sorted? Currently it doesn't fade in/out properly. I also noticed a lack of fuel stations, though I'm sure I'm not the first.

I'm probably going to check this one out finally but since I must say I don't like the grass, and knowing that you yourself won't be making any other version, maybe other islandmakers could be asked to modify your island to make a desert and winter version? That would be awesome, since I prefer Zwadar's Desert Everon over the normal Everon anytime... biggrin_o.gif
